The directions aren't too long, I thought at first. Actually, the instructions are enough. Stretchy laces are used. They were put on in the same manner as traditional shoelaces. My son put them on, and I made necessary adjustments until they were secure. I used their tiny lock tool to clip off the extra. Before posting a review on them, I wanted to give it some time. First of all, I must add that these are superb and have worked beautifully with my boots. I just deducted one rating because I did not enjoy securing the plastic tab at the end of the laces. Although it's not tough, I could have used some straightforward directions because I was worried about breaking the tabs. In the end, a pair of pliers accomplished the trick, proving there was nothing to be afraid of. I have no qualms about suggesting these. They're excellent.

They can be a little difficult to install, but once they're in, there's no need to take them out. Unless you're like me and the strips you first inserted simply weren't correct, in which case you should switch to looser (or tighter strips). Confused? Really, it's not that horrible. I needed four strips per shoe. I simply utilized every other strip because there were 8 in the bag for each shoe. It's not difficult to install; all you need to do is get enough of the "T" through the eye hole for you to be able to hold it and pull it through. For the other side, repeat. The strips didn't split or break, contrary to my fears. So take a firm hold and pull.My shoes were too tight after a day of wearing them. In order to use the lengthier strips in the set, I wanted to modify the strips. How are the current strips to be removed? Just grab firmly and pull! Once more, I was concerned that they would tear. But that wasn't at all a problem. They emerged and appeared to be still in good condition for future usage.Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I receive good, snug shoes without Velcro strips that aren't too tight.

My grandchild detests lacing up his hiking boots. Things are considerably easier with these laces. He cherishes them. Even though the instructions may appear a little unclear, pay attention to them. I could make it much more muddled. Now, however: Get rid of the old laces. Cut the two lace ends to the required length (removing the plasticized ends of the laces), then close and open the lace-tip cover (I'm going to name it a "clam") a few times to help it shut better. Lace up each shoe with the flexible laces. When it's time to snap over the lace tips, place a quarter-inch of each lace tip inside a single clam-shaped clip before closing it. The problematic aspect is that if you put too much in, the clam won't shut, and if you put too little in, it will fall off. Take note of the way the clam closes. In the event that you need to reapply the clam to the lace points, this will make it easier for you to open it with a little screwdriver or other instrument. There are a few extra clam end-clips provided.

To put in a fresh pair of Adidas Grand Court sneakers, I bought these no-tie laces, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It wasn't much more work to replace the original laces with the Kicks silicone laces once I had treated the shoes with a spray-on leather protector. Although the Adidas feature very small lace holes, I didn't found it to be all that difficult to tie the laces, contrary to some shoes the evaluations I read. I completed one side completely first as directed by the directions. The first side was easily and swiftly inserted. Although the second side of each shoe was a little trickier because you have to work around the tongue and interior, it didn't take long. The Kicks come with eight "laces" each shoe, but I only needed seven per shoe because they were going in a pair of men's size 13 shoes, so I skipped the smallest on either side. Regarding appearance, comfort, and simplicity of slipping them on and off, I am quite pleased with the outcome. When I originally got these no-tie shoelaces for my son, I felt a bit apprehensive. I wasn't exactly sure where to start. Let me tell you, adding them is really quite simple for any pair of shoes. My son struggles with motor skills and just can't seem to get the hang of tying a conventional shoelace. Pick up one string. Put the shoe on with the usual laces. (I was perplexed by that before I realized how simple this could be. I reasoned that there must be a certain way to lace these.) Cut the strings to the same length once you've laced the shoe all the way up. Make sure you have adequate space to add the lace lock. Add the lock to the end once you've reached the required length. There is no possibility of it coming off because it clasps down. Although you only need two, you will get four. I suppose in case you require more. Now there are never any loose shoelaces when I pick up my child from school. All day long, they are confined. I enjoy that there are many different color options. Since the original laces were black, I decided to order that color instead. I strongly advise!

These laces have won my heart over. They are in each and every pair of footwear I possess. To be clear, I do not run or even jog in any of those shoes. Therefore, a person who does run or jog would likely be a better judge of how well they perform for a rigorous workout. I can only comment on their errand-running, dog-walking, and general fumbling around. They are flawless. They make it simple to rapidly put on and take off sneakers, trainers, and running shoes. The shoes feel snug (but not too snug) to my feet because each cross tie is elastic. They glide along with my foot and never make me feel restrained.The difficulty of actually putting these shoes on is one issue I read about in other reviews, but they're not at all challenging. They do fit snugly in the shoe holes, but that is necessary since if they were any looser, they would keep popping out. Only once in two years of wearing them in various shoes has one peeled out. I wear these in ALL types of conditions and none of them have ever cracked or broken.I frequently get asked if these irritate the tops of my feet and cause discomfort. Response: Never. I frequently wear my shoes without socks and have never had any rubbing from the laces. They are the same thickness as laces.VERDICT: I'll admit that I'm a little bit of an older child, but I really like these laces and constantly receive compliments on them.
