If you are shooting a longbow or recurve, then 3 or 4 fletch arrows are better. The extra fletchings help stabilize the arrow in flight. If you are shooting a compound bow, then 4 fletch arrows are better. The extra fletchings help keep the arrow from wobbling in flight.
No, an arrow cannot fly without fletching. The fletching provides stability to the arrow in flight, and without it, the arrow will not fly straight.
Most archers agree that you can have too much helical on an arrow. Helical is the amount of twist that the fletching (feathers or vanes) has on the shaft. The more helical, the more stable the arrow will be in flight, but too much helical can cause the arrow to spin too much and be less accurate.

The vanes are precisely as described, measuring 2.25 inches, but I was concerned since they are a little shorter than I anticipated (in height, not length). I fletched them with the blue cap Gorilla Super Glue (Impact-Tough) after trying them out, and they flew flawlessly. No bird has taken flight. I purchased packs of black and white ones.

These initially seemed really little. I arrived at these Blazer vanes from three-inch feathers. I believed that my feathers were the finest available. They had a helix to spin the arrow and manage the broadhead/practice tip, they could fold, which meant they wouldn't be easily damaged, and they could be placed back into position when flattened. Other than that, the only other vanes I've used were weak three-inch plastic vanes that were prone to ripping, messing up, and occasionally ending up sideways because they couldn't control the tip. When I fletched these into my carbon arrows, I was really hesitant. They were going to disappoint me, I thought. I received four identical carbon arrows that were -/ .006 straight and the same weight. Two had feather and two had Blazer fletching. One broadhead from each set was toxic, whereas the others had two blades. In the ferrule, the two blades were not parallel.I went outside and fired into a piece of cardboard that had a Black Hole target behind it. The Blazer vaned two blade penetrated the Black Hole target by about six inches, flying straight and leaving a neat line in the cardboard. The feathery two-blade weapon operated similarly. When I fired the Blazer toxic toward the target, it hit the target cleanly and flew straight. The feathers are the same. Most surprisingly, the Blazer vanes did not FOLD to pass through the cardboard in this shooting. The cardboard was actually punched through, leaving three slender lines from the vanes, but it STILL flew straight. The feathers easily folded and rose to the surface. For half the price, these were the same as my feathers! Without a doubt, I'll soon switch to the Blazers.Oneida Kestrel, bowIBO: 310QuikTune 800: RestArrow: 400-spined, 500-grain item.Advantages: Plastic, won't flatten when wet.resilient and doesn't fold up like flimsy vanesCompatible with helicals and able to be set to the proper helical, like my feathersless expensive than feathers for the same thingCons: None whatsoever

fantastic vanes Unlike the factory-installed carbon express vanes on my carbon express Hunter 250 piledriver arrows, I haven't experienced any warping or bending. Since using these vanes to refetch all of my carbon arrows, they are holding up admirably to 200 shots per week. No obvious bending or distortion.

I can't comment on their durability because I haven't used these yet. However, Indo have a little, possibly insignificant, complaint right out of the gate. They appear to come in a convenient tiny plastic case in the third image below the seller's description, however it turns out they don't. This is a touch misleading even though it's not a deal breaker. So, at this time, 4 stars.Nevertheless, they appear to be of reasonable quality and are barely any smaller than the artificial feather vanes I now use on my carbon arrows. I'll update and install them within a week.

Outstanding product, pricing, and customer service.Since I just purchased one pack of these to replace six practice arrows, I am unable to comment on how well they affect accuracy for the purposes of this review because the weights and other characteristics of those arrows differ.Anyway, installation just takes 10 minutes once you get a pot of water to boil. I just cut off the old vanes while I was waiting for the water to boil, and it only took me about 30 minutes to remake 6 arrows.I did experience some issues with my initial set; after a few shots, parts of the vanes would pop off. In order to resolve the issue, they sent me four, yes four, new boxes of the quikfletches of my choice after they were able to track down where my box came from and determine it was a part of a bad batch they made. I contacted the company using the support email I discovered on their website (chunter@newarchery.com) and explained the situation. above and above any kind of service I anticipated by a significant margin. They have me as a lifetime customer because of their excellent product and top-notch customer service, and I wholeheartedly endorse you using them as well.

I made my arrows with traditional fletchings when I had a lot of free time. When I ran out of free time, I discovered Quickfletches. I opted to switch it up for a fresh look because I had previously used the ones with Blazer vanes with amazing success. There was no letdown with the Quickfletch Hellfire. They look great and installation is just as simple as always. The fact that I fletched a dozen arrows in less than five minutes is my favorite part.

These carry out their intended functions. They attach to the end of your field point or broadhead like a washer. They do destroy target blocks more quickly. The only drawback is that you have to use them to have the same weight so your sight is on, which forces you to slightly more thoroughly damage your target if you sight in your bow with a complete arrow weight for hunting and you prefer long range target shooting. At 60 yards, even a difference of 5gr makes a difference.
Whether or not arrow fletching matters is a matter of opinion. Some archers feel that it makes a significant difference in the accuracy of their shots, while others believe that it is not as important as other factors, such as the weight and balance of the arrow. Ultimately, it is up to the individual archer to decide whether or not they believe arrow fletching makes a difference in their shooting.
There is divided opinions on this subject. Some archers say that fletching your arrows left or right does make a difference, while others say it does not matter. The truth is, it may make a slight difference, but it is not a significant enough difference to make a real impact on your shooting. Ultimately, it is up to the archer to decide which way to fletch their arrows.
There is no definitive answer to how far fletching should be from the end of an arrow, as it depends on personal preference. Some archers prefer to have their fletching closer to the end of the arrow, while others prefer to have it further back. Ultimately, it is up to the archer to experiment with different positions to see what works best for them.
