Although it may seem insignificant, the way ice melt is packaged matters a lot to me, especially when I purchase a large quantity. Bags are disorganized and challenging to store. Some containers aren't any better; you have to permanently pierce a hole in them or something equally ridiculous. The very attractive tub that Green Gobbler comes in has a screw-top nozzle that, when opened, protrudes from the tub. As a result, the granules can be easily and mess-free poured out.The magnesium oxide in the product works just as effectively as normal salt. No strength loss was apparent to me. Additionally, I felt confident applying it on my stamped concrete sidewalk because it isn't detrimental to surfaces (or at least much less so).It's top-notch material. Very efficient at melting snow and ice, and even works to keep snow and ice from forming on top of previously applied snow and ice. I also really appreciate that it is both pet and ecologically friendly. I loved the color since it made it easier for me to see where I had already used it.The disadvantages include the price, which is high considering how little you get; I've only used the 10 lb tub on my front porch stairway and sidewalk twice, and I'm already halfway through it. Next time, I'd most sure choose a larger pack size to save money.

It took a while to get here, but when FEDEX started to deliver in my area once more, it did eventually arrive.Since I've been using it for the past week and a half, the effects have exceeded my expectations. I had trouble quickly locating what it contained on the package. It implies that it has half as many chlorides. Chloride is just salt. Pets have trouble with salt because it gets hot when wet (it gets into the areas between their pads, gets wet, and can cause physical burns to their flesh).If consumed, the mention of pet and kid safety is required. However, the actual salt or chlorides are what cause ice to melt.Anyway, I applied it (needed to). It melts really easily. I would admit that anything that is actually safe for pets won't work well to melt the ice. However, I typically use and implement it (along with some play sand from the local Walmart). I'll start looking again for something without chlorides. I could get this delivered the same day because the local retailers had run out of stock due to the storm. Instead of the anticipated "dusting," we received inches (the schools failed to cancel and there were a lot of accidents, the buses ran way behind).So, kudos to Amazon for its same-day shipping service. However, try to choose a product that won't cause the dog's paw pads to burn.

We have indoor cats, and the numerous stray cats that wander around our neighborhood are cared for by our neighbors. Finding some kind of ice melter to use on the back stairs, where we get a lot of ice, really scared me.Since using Safe Paw Ice Melter for two seasons, we can say with confidence that it is a good choice.
