A shop vac can be used to vacuum your pool, but it is not the ideal tool for the job. A shop vac is not designed to be used in water and may not have the proper filters to remove all the debris from your pool.
If you have a pool, you know that keeping it clean can be a chore. One of the most difficult things to clean is the bottom of the pool. If you don't have a pool vacuum, there are still ways to get the dirt and debris out of your pool. One way to clean the bottom of your pool is to use a pool brush. You can attach the brush to a pole and use it to scrub the bottom of the pool. This will loosen up the dirt and debris so that it can be easily removed. Another way to clean the bottom of
There are a few things you can do to get more suction when vacuuming a pool. First, make sure the vacuum hose is properly connected to the vacuum head and the skimmer. Second, check the filter to see if it needs to be cleaned or replaced. Third, make sure the impeller is clean and free of debris. Finally, if you have a booster pump, make sure it is turned on.

By far, this is the simplest and "suckiest" vacuum head I have ever bought. I held off on writing a review for six weeks so I could observe how consistently my pool was cleaned. It did, and I wouldn't think twice about purchasing it again. Even my 8-year-old granddaughter has no trouble moving it because it is so simple to move. I appreciate not having to strain and injure my back to move the vacuum as a senior citizen (lol). The drawback is that huge leaves are challenging to pick up, but I have never had a vacuum that could. It IS capable of picking up tiny seeds, leaves, worms, and spiders with ease. It accumulates at the deep end corners, but on occasion I have to remove the head and vacuum close to the stairs. An A for this vacuum!

This vacuum head appeared to function flawlessly. Weighted head easily stayed on the ground. I created my own handle out of a hardwood broom stick so that if it were to fall out of my hand, it wouldn't sink. It simply remains upright. I simply took my time and proceeded carefully when using my setup, and it was able to pick up everything I came across. I have a blue vinyl liner, so it is difficult to see some items as they are sucked up, but anything darker can be seen very well. The translucent cover is nicer than a solid color. According to the manual, my pool is a 15x25 oval with somewhat more than 12,000 gallons, and because this was the first thorough vacuum after opening the pool for the season, it took me around 30 minutes to really do a decent job. I would repurchase this. Oh, and one reviewer said that 1 1/2" hose would not work with the swivel section of the hose attachment, but mine works just fine. The hose really butts right up to the head where it swivels, but it still functions well.

It was suggested that I convert from a wheeled vac head to one with a brush because our inground pool had recently been replastered. Thanks to my fellow Amazon reviewers, I discovered this vacuum head after conducting my customary thorough search. Today marks the debut of the new vacuum head.Although this Milliard is a good vacuum, it is challenging to push (only reason not 5 stars). Perhaps as a result of incredibly strong suction? When I start to push from near to me, I have to lift a little bit to get it moving. As it goes further away, it then moves more effectively. I did slow down my pumping to see if the head would move more easily with less suction. As I simply decreased my speed by 100 RPM to 2900, it might have. I might need to experiment a little bit more with that as the suction was still strong. It might be the solution to the slow mobility. The head swings back to flat against the pole thanks to a powerful spring in the center, making it easier for you to climb the walls below. No action is taken by the suction relief valves. Couldn't tell because it remained rather sluggish the entire time I was cleaning today. However, it is effective both forward and backward. The brush's capacity to scour whatever required is another feature. It cannot be done by wheels. I might go back and forth using the brush or wheels as I see fit.Overall, a terrific buy at a reasonable price. Milliard is a reputable firm that genuinely cares about its clients and claims to follow the golden laws of business:1. Excellence; 2. Value3. Contentment

I bought this vacuum head to replace my old one, which broke after ten years of service at the adapter collar (not a Milliard). I conducted a lot of research before buying the Milliard because many users have complained that the newest vacuum heads are no longer manufactured the same way; the biggest difference is their weight, or lack thereof. A heavy vacuum head may be difficult for some DIYers to manage, but making the units lighter would significantly reduce their effectiveness when vacuuming. With 5.3 pounds, the Milliard is the ideal weight to stay on the pool's surface without sacrificing strength. Similarly, the 19 "A wide passage can be effectively cleaned with a wide head. I'm generally pleased with the way the vacuum head cleans my pool. I applied a tiny amount of waterproof grease to the 1.5" diameter hole, as shown in the images "to make it simpler to secure and remove the vacuum hose, suction port connection.Like the majority of Amazon customers, I rely on unbiased, truthful evaluations. I sincerely hope that this review was useful to you in deciding what to buy.

This performs as I would anticipate it to. I've only ever used vacuums that are triangular in shape. The width is roughly the same, but with strong suction, it is much simpler to move forward and backward. While maintaining contact with the pool's bottom does involve some effort, simply gripping the pole and moving it forward and backward is sufficient. I wish I had purchased a larger head in retrospect, but I'm not sure how effective the suction would have been. I'm thrilled with this, especially for the price.

This is not a vacuum; it is a head that helps us vacuum our pool. My first error was thinking that it was a vacuum, but it works perfectly when connected to my hose and the water filter pump, and because it has brushes, it moves any debris or other objects that are on the bottom of the pool, which was especially helpful when my pool turned green. This will function well with a powerful pump that powers your pool's filter system; in my opinion, the stronger the pump, the better.

I was planning to get the Hayward version of this for $47 because I believed that something that inexpensive would not be constructed properly enough to do the job. Boy, was I mistaken! My inground pool's bottom got a fantastic cleaning job from this vacuum head. The majority of the grass and leaves in my pool had already decomposed into mush and dirt. Even though it moved extremely slowly, the vacuum head did a fantastic job! My pool is nearly pristine. When I come home from work tonight, I want to complete the project.Don't be deceived by the cost. I anticipate using this item extensively before having to replace it because it is constructed of plastic, which is highly sturdy. This vacuum head is quite helpful. Due to the $400 cost, I've been putting off upgrading my pool vacuum. Without the replacement vacuum, this little man helped me get my pool looking the way it should.I heartily endorse this item. It is strong, well-made, and performs precisely as promised. To allow the debris to be sucked up into the system, just be patient and drive slowly.

I've had this tiny brush/vacuum for a little more than 5 months. Overall, it does the job and functions properly. This manual brush fills in for my robots where they fall short because my automatic vacuum can only handle so much and can't reach my entire pool.Although learning how to maneuver around corners and other tight spaces requires some trial and error, once you get the hang of it, it is highly effective. You may not even need to push this over the soil, depending on the suction of your skimmer. The debris will be drawn into the vacuum if you can get near enough to it to use the suction. My pool has two or three hard-to-reach areas, but as long as I get close enough, suction will draw in any debris. Once more, this depends on the circumstances and may change based on the skimmer suction in your pool, but it works for me.This has been easy for me to move across the pool's bottom. It moves smoothly and effortlessly. To some, who, well, just don't feel like doing anything, I can see this feeling like a hassle. It doesn't need to ruin your entire day, but I've seen some people gripe on here about it not having instructions, which I can understand. Common sense is all that is required to realize what you must do with this object. It also doesn't need much effort to spend five minutes looking it up on Google or YouTube with all the technology and accessibility that is readily available to us nowadays. My only issue is that while I was recently vacuuming, the tiny cap holding the weighted stuff within the brush came out. The cap itself is a joke, but it wasn't a big concern because I was already vacuuming and I just sucked it all up anyhow. I must now add something to the vacuum to give it weight (possible with just water).I would advise first-time buyers to consider supergluing the cap to the bottom so it won't come off while submerged in the pool.Overall, it's a good deal considering the cost. Personally, I like using a manual vacuum since I can precisely decide which areas of the pool are serviced.

I had a brush vacuum before acquiring this pool vacuum on wheels. After a month or two, the brushes were reduced to a nub, and after that the vacuum "stuck" on my pool liner every few minutes. It's a delight to operate this mobile vacuum. It seems to be well-made, and the wheel design has lasted for about three months and continues to function well. When the brushes were brand-new and the vacuum head was suspended by the brushes, the "suction" was a little bit less than with the brush vacuum, but probably not much less. After about a month of use, the brush's suction got so bad that I had to throw it away since it was sticking to my pool's liner so frequently as it wore down. The wheel vacuum provides strong suction that remains constant. The rollers (i.e., wheels) operate well in bends and corners and provide me a smooth roll over the pool bottom. I'm overjoyed. Although the suction is not as strong as the brush vacuum at its peak, overall, it is more than acceptable and gets much, much better over time than the brush vacuum, therefore I first gave it a 4-star rating. If it's still possible, I'm going to change this rating to five stars.- Tom B
Pool pop up heads, also known as automatic pool cleaners, are a great addition to any pool. They are easy to install and can save you time and energy when it comes to cleaning your pool. But how long do they last? Most pool pop up heads will last for several years with proper care and maintenance. However, there are a few things that can shorten their lifespan. For example, if you don't clean the filter regularly, it can become clogged and cause the pop up head to work less effectively. Additionally, if you don't keep an eye on the hose
Backwashing a pool after vacuuming is important to ensure the pool is clean and free of debris. Depending on the size of the pool and the amount of debris, backwashing should be done every few days to once a week.
It's generally advisable to brush the pool before vacuuming, especially if there's a lot of debris on the bottom. Brushing loosens up the debris and makes it easier for the vacuum to pick up.
No, you don't have to run your pool vacuum every day. However, you should vacuum your pool at least once a week to keep it clean.
If you are vacuuming your pool with an automatic pool cleaner, the pump does not need to be on. However, if you are vacuuming by hand, the pump needs to be on so that the vacuum can create suction.
