Although I haven't had a chance to use them yet, they arrived quickly and seem to be of excellent quality. For the price, it is unbeatable. After they take action, I'll update this review if necessary. 9/3/19 edit: I've had to deduct one rating from these snap ring pliers after putting them to the test numerous times. The good news is that none of my pliers have yet broken despite only minimal use starting to bend the tips. Normally, I merely bend them back by placing them in my vice. If you only want to use these infrequently, I recommend getting these, but if you're a skilled mechanic like myself, I recommend getting the Knipex set. The Knipex set costs twice as much, but in my opinion it's well worth it. Wonderful handles, a lovely pouch, and a great price make the Workpro deserving of four ratings.

Anyone who has attempted to remove and reinstall a ring of that size (SMALL) before is aware that it will probably be discovered by the vacuum after flying off into the room. On many levels, this is an excellent snap ring plier. First, it includes a variety of tip diameters in addition to straight and 90-degree tips. They all fit into a small pouch to keep them all together, and the Allen wrench that comes with them makes it simple to swap them out. The spring tension is exactly right—light it's enough to let you know when the bells engage. From inside to outside rings are readily switched with a flip of the toggle. You can get interior rings that are up to.75" in diameter with a reach of roughly 1.25". The grips are covered in plastic and simple to control. They function well, but what else is the best? They are American-made. I have a number of snap ring pliers that I bought to replace the bearings in the bandsaw blade guides. My other ring pliers have fixed diameter tips and need you to switch the handles for inside or outside. You can tell that I'm quite happy with this product. It's not a lot of money, but it's worth every penny.

Although I last used hog ring pliers to repair the inside of a 1966 Mustang, it doesn't appear that technology has advanced since then. This time, I needed to remove some upholstery in order to access the springs underneath a sofa to reinforce them where they had become bent out of shape. Everything went well, and I later put everything back together using these pliers and the hog rings that were provided.The pliers were trouble-free, the rings were a good size for upholstery tasks, and they operated effectively.The only drawback, in my opinion, was having to load the rings one at a time. Some pliers, I believe, have an autoloader, but mine didn't. It wasn't a major deal, though, for a tiny project.

These sizes were ideal for strengthening the walls of Max's foldable box. wanted to add something longer-lasting than plastic zip ties to strengthen the walls' capacity to hold things securely. The slightly sharp ends of the rings will be on the outside, away from your dog, if you apply them from the inside of the crate. The rings cling firmly.Additionally, I used them to fasten extra wire to my back chain link fence to cover areas where Max was eroding or burrowing his way out. I purchased some wrought iron lawn edging and used these rings to secure it. will be effective pending the acquisition of a more long-term fix.

I'm rating this 5 stars mostly because of the cost. I've been an engineer for more than 20 years, mostly in the automotive manufacturing sector. Equipment and automation have always been my areas of expertise. When the maintenance staff comes up against a wall, they rely on me. I don't know is never an acceptable response in this situation. At some point or another, I've seen and used just about every brand of plier available. I've used snap ring pliers that have endured years of misuse and are still in good condition. After one or two usage, some would bend or round off. This collection is in the middle. I mostly purchased these to repair the axles on my 4WD trucks. Really, all I needed were the big pliers. To ensure that I always have the right size for use for various repairs around the house, garage, and shop, I could, however, justify purchasing a full set at this price. In these situations, they perform admirably. The last person to "borrow" them could have used them as a pry bar or a punch, so if I were looking for a set to use at work when a line down costs us tens of thousands of dollars per shift, I would get a higher quality, more expensive set. I'm giving this product a rating of 5 stars because the product description expressly indicates that they are for "general use" and because they are so inexpensive.

For those who are curious, the straight set of jaws' pins have a diameter of 1.4mm and 1.2mm on my pair. I've estimated the diameter of the jaws at 90 and 45 degrees to be between 1.4 and 1.5 mm.There is a tiny degree of play in the jaws, according to other reviewers. This has also caught my attention. I don't find that to be a deal breaker, and when it has arisen, I have stabilized the jaws with one hand. However, I can see why some people who only had one hand available in confined situations would have been annoyed by the jaws' comparatively high degree of motion. For comparison, my jaws have a few millimeters of vertical slop, possibly more if you apply a lot of pressure.Having said that, I appreciate the choice of 4 distinct jaws and the ability to switch from an internal to an external opening.Look elsewhere if you require a high-quality tool with precise tolerances and minimal mechanism slip. This is fine for a casual user like myself and makes it easy to conduct some repairs that would be practically difficult otherwise.

I also ordered the Cal Van 16000 and the gear wrench 145. Both have some distinctions despite being fairly similar. The Gear Wrench immediately appears to be more expensive. It's just more expensive, not better. It is entirely black, has rubber on the handle, etc. The Cal Van does not self-open, but the gear wrench does. It needs to be manually opened. Benefit gear wrench. The gear wrench is noisier now. The clamps at the end are attached more loosely. The Cal Van appears to have slightly tighter tolerances and barely rattles. Cal Van's advantage The gear wrench has a bigger opening. very little Because it isn't significant enough to increase its capacity, I'll call it a draw. With both of these wrenches, you eventually need to upgrade to a larger wrench for larger hoses. The gear wrench is finally produced in Taiwan. Global parts are used to assemble the Cal Van in the USA. For me, Cal Van is now in the lead. It ultimately comes down to self opening vs. assembled in the USA between the two. I don't know when, but the self-opening may eventually become worn or malfunction. Both seem to be well-made and, I hope, will last a very long time. With either instrument, I don't think you can go wrong. Although the lifetime warranty for the gear wrench is advertised, you should always consider if you'll actually take the time to purchase another one. Are you keeping the receipt? Most of us will simply purchase a new wrench, etc.Having said that, I ultimately used a plug since after using them both, neither completely stopped the flow out of a 5/8" hose.
