I want to start out by saying that this is a screwdriver, not a drill. Could I suggest a drill with a screwdriver bit if you want a screwdriver that will drive screws through walls? This is unquestionably a screwdriver to take into consideration if you're seeking for one that can repeatedly drive screws into and out of predrilled holes.I cannot claim that I continuously operated the drill for six or more hours, but I can tell you that I recently ended two days of replacing doorknobs, overhead lights, external fixtures, assembling furniture, and all the other small nightmares of house renovation, and it never once gave up on me. It features rather bright LEDs, which is useful if you lack a third or fourth arm to handle a flashlight. Since the driver is actually quite light, holding it won't tire you out.In addition, the driver does have driver bits and charges via a conventional micro-USB. That means you don't need a specific AC adapter to recharge it; instead, you can use any phone charger (except from Apple charges).

A former home builder, I am now. I have several battery- and corded-tools from over thirty different firms in yellow, red, and lime green, all of which are useful. It wasn't until my aunt complained that she had lost hers that I learned about this tiny beauty. I so purchased one for myself and one for her. It has good drive torque, can quickly switch from a screwdriver inline style to a pistol style drill/driver, is rechargeable, and is light enough for those of us who are less physically fit. To handle drilling and driving screws, it has two speeds. Since the hex socket it utilizes only accepts drill bits with a 1/4" hex drive, regular drill bits will not function. When transitioning from drill bits to drivers, the hex socket allows for quick changeover. A LED light is also present. This tool won't help you build a house, but man is it useful when you're in a confined place, in poor lighting, on a ladder, or at a workbench.

Update: 8/6/2018.I simply had to return and give this a rating of 5 stars, or 6 if I could! I like it more and more as I use it. I used this on all of the hinges when I restored my kitchen cabinets (maybe 40 hinges with 6 screws each). It operated without a hitch during each day and maintained its speed and torque throughout. To be completely honest, I was shocked by how well it did. However, after reading a few reviews with 4 and 5 stars, I chose to give it a shot.Yes, it is a light-duty tool, but that is to be anticipated. After all, it is only $20 and not $12. The fact that it didn't drill very well was one of the criticisms. Without a doubt, it's not a drill. Because it makes no claims to be a drill, I was taken aback by the reviewers' expectations. One more was that it lacked a lot of torque or power. That is also true, but it has a lock option so that the screws can be manually broken loose and tightened. Speed and consistency are two highly important benefits. For example, if you were using your other hand to hold the parts in place, you wouldn't need to reposition your hand every quarter turn, risking losing contact with the screw head and dropping the screw, etc.Additionally, the battery was said to not maintain a charge or, in a few instances, not charge at all. One of two possibilities seems to me here. The first is that the reviewer didn't read the directions and charge the product fully the first time, and the second is that they just received a faulty item. Amazon has a superb return/exchange policy because of this. Unfortunately, I had to utilize it, and everything turned out well.The location of the power switch and how awkwardly it operates are the only two criticisms that I wholly concur with, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. This is not a difficult issue to solve, though.To put it simply, it is what it is, and there is no justification for criticizing it for not being a full-size drill/driver tool. Get a rechargeable hand drill instead of a cordless screwdriver if you wish to drill and drive torque and power.

This tool quickly completes this laborious process, the battery survived through several hundred screws of heavy use, and the adjustable torque clutch was exactly what I needed to avoid overtightening screws on inspection plates when replacing them. I enjoy that I can rapidly transform the handle into a pistol-like shape or use it as a straight-on screwdriver. A wonderful extra is the built-in flashlight. The only difference between this tool's features and those of $100–130 high-end brand-name tools is that the battery cannot be removed. For the price of the big boy names, I can purchase three or four of these, however it might not last as long.

So I purchased myself a screwdriver, and my husband asked me why he couldn't use it. Solid, high-quality, and very nicely constructed. Definitely not a cheap Harbor Freight knockoff that functions for a week before breaking down. Black and Decker products have always been good to me and I've never had an issue with any of them. Spending a few dollars more up front on a tool you won't have to worry about again is preferable than purchasing a low-quality copycat that breaks the first or second time you use it. I've used this tool to disassemble tower PCs, laptops, and other heavy-duty devices, and it's clear that the rechargeable batteries utilized in its construction are of a high caliber. I believe I have used it for at least five or six entire computer teardowns and a few other tasks without having to recharge it. Highly suggested.

This driver shares many characteristics with the Hammerhead one. But there is one key distinction.This one is made to be operated by hand.I previously employed the Hammerhead one. When I torqued it enough when using it manually, it frequently made a clicking noise. It turned out that the clicking noises were caused by slipping gears. After misusing it in such manner for a few months, the gears froze up and the motor would not turn at all.It was selling for twice as much as when I first acquired it, which prevented me from getting another to handle it correctly. I started looking around and discovered this; although the Hammerhead did not, it advertised manual use.I was apprehensive about using it manually, but I did. First, drive 1" wood screws into the wood while tightening the screws. There were no sounds of slipping or clicking. When driven manually in the same direction as its previous spin, the motor did briefly spin. However, you won't experience this issue if you manually operate the motor while spinning it the other direction first.Simply put, the Skil one is indisputably superior to the Hammerhead because to this functionality.
