I installed 2 on my 6-foot-long computer desk to eliminate the need for wires to hang around. the switch is in the front of the rack, so there are no visible wires coming from the front of the desk, and the cord reaches the back of my desk. The desk itself has a channel in the back to control wires, so I installed one on each side to keep the wiring from having to travel too far.

This was originally a surge protector replacement for my home theater system. Many reviews on various AV forums question the necessity for a power conditioner, but I was hoping this would help because I have a mini fridge in the same room that pops the speakers when the compressor shuts off. Not at all. However, the red fault light came on when I tried to connect this in for the first time. It worked when I tested it in a few of the other outlets in the space. So it came out that the one outlet I was using to plug in my pricey home cinema system was really broken. I feel like I've been lucky there!

This helped for a cleaner installation because I needed a multi-power supply for security cameras and didn't want to use the included 4-way split units and additional power strips.12 cameras are currently powered. Power is not lost ( 1 camera is 140 ft and that camera is as clear as another camera mounted 18 ft from DVR). This power unit makes no noise, and the box shell doesn't become hot.Update: 12 Night Owl cameras are powered with no issues. However, the transmission exhibits "jumping, colour distortion, and interference" while powering a single Lorex camera.All of the aforementioned concerns vanish when using the provided Lorex power. I'll look into this more thoroughly and provide another update.

fantastic power supply I spent $50 for this, but it's worth far more than that. arrived in excellent shape. With a separate distribution board, this is essentially a standalone power supply. The distribution board features 16 distinct channels with power state LEDs and discrete PTC protection, as well as its own on/off switch. A PTC operates similarly to a fuse or breaker but resets itself, saving you the trouble of replacing or resetting one if it trips. Polymeric Temperature Coefficient is referred to as PTC. This is a technical term for a plastic sponge loaded with carbon particles that expands under high current or temperature. The sponge-like structure expands as the temperature rises, breaking the bond between the carbon particles. Once the carbon particles have broken enough of a bond, the plastic sponge cools and contracts back together, reestablishing the bond. The material expands more easily and contracts less readily the more they "travel," thus there is a slight degradation in performance. Despite this, they should last hundreds or even thousands of trips. Check the line resistance to determine if you have a short (a mouse nibbled the wire, a screw through the wall or ceiling), or if the camera is failing, if you notice a channel is frequently dropping out due to lost power. This power supply ought to last a lifetime if the issue is identified and fixed promptly. If necessary, replacing the PTCs is simple and inexpensive and only requires a soldering iron.As anticipated, the case has a keyhole opening in the back for hanging it on the wall. I don't see any reason to drill any holes in the case, but if you do want to mount through holes other than the ones already there, you can easily remove the distribution board and power supply to make drilling, deburring, and cleaning easier. Avoid letting metal shavings enter the distribution board or power supply...For exterior wire management, 1/2" knock outs (not 1/2" holes) are offered, but I merely used the wall pass through in the middle. (Akin to the enclosure of a security system)

For my home-based Cyberpower OR500LCD networking equipment, I bought this card. I did not realize my batteries were bad until there was a power outage. I bought this card so I can better monitor and test the UPS because I was determined not to let that happen again. I noted right away that it could be installed without shutting the UPS down. That was fantastic considering how frequently my family uses the internet. As soon as I connected it and plugged it into the UPS's back, it received a DHCP IP address from my router. I logged in to the web portal using that IP address to configure it. Everything was flawless. I even configured the email feature to send me an email if a UPS incident occurs. Nicely done. Additionally, Cyberpower offers a little program that makes it very simple to update the firmware. No need to mess around with FTP. Anyway, I'm quite happy with the card. After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned, but my card was fine. Before making numerous changes to the settings, I'd advise updating the firmware first.

Overall, this power supply is good and seems to be rather durable; however, only time will tell how long it will survive. But thus far, I'm content.Advantages: Each channel is rated at 1.1 amps, which is more than enough power for PTZ cameras or cameras with IR LEDs. On a 60 foot wire, you'll obtain quite near to exactly 12V DC for your cameras because the power supply outputs 12.35V. The final voltage on my system's 100-foot runs will be around 11.6V, which is better than the small power blocks with splitters that start at a flat 12V and only give 1A for 4 cameras.Cons: To reliably get the wires under the screw terminals, a bit more insulation had to be removed because the wires on the tails had not been sufficiently stripped. I would have happily spent an extra few dollars to have the tails already terminated with spade connectors. Getting the wires fed under the clamps in the screw connectors presented the largest issue for me.

The test leads that are included are, as others have said, total garbage. The tiny power supply is lovely. The display precisely fits my erroneous DVM. Regarding the constant current mode, the instructions are a little hazy.When you crank the adjustment knob, the voltage changes rather slowly with this source as opposed to a linear power supply.The device feels as though it should be empty because of how light it is, but since it functions, I guess it isn't.Many of the Chinese units that look to be the identical one in multiple Amazon listings are cheaper than this one from Yescom. The actual machine does not bear the Yescom trademark, so I assume it is just a common product that is resold. In that case, I would search for one of the less expensive models that appear to be identical.Although 10 amps is a significant amount of current, I have no reason to doubt that this item can supply it. It's mine to keep. For do-it-yourself tasks, you can never have too many power supplies.Happy DIYing to everybody!

My Hitec x4 rc battery charger's power supply failed. I decided to purchase this Pyramid 30 amp ps rather than shelling out $250 for a replacement charger. It operates flawlessly! My charger can now simultaneously charge 4 batteries at 5.5 amps each while only mildly warming up the power supply! Construction seems to be well-made. not very heavy or cumbersome. Definitely would suggest to a friend.
