nice for usage at home and as a home office. Within 15 minutes of plugging it in, I successfully completed my first two test papers. Also included in that was reading the instructions.The sample laminating pouches that were included in the package are large enough to handle 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper with enough to spare for trimming neatly to the edge of the paper, into the paper, or even to leave some clear edge. "Hot Laminating Pouches" is written on the sample pack. (There are no cold pouches provided.)If using cold laminate material, only one switch is required to turn on basic electricity. The heating is turned on by a second switch. It warms up in about five minutes or less, after which a ready light plainly shows that you are ready to go. Even if it moves very slowly, the sheet does so. This is not a gadget for those who need to laminate multiple items quickly. However, the outcome is rather good. There is no need to keep the sealed edges on for a full surface seal. Although I had to be sure to press the rotary blade against the cutting edge equally with each cut, the trimmer cuts through the laminate and paper with sufficient precision.At first touch, the laminating material appears to be a single sheet. Any one of the three edges must be used to tear the "pouch" apart. The sheets are held together by a single fused edge, which is clearly distinct from the three open edges. The paper that needs sealing is sandwiched between the two layers, then it is straightened and fed through the roller mechanism with the closed edge first. Ensure that you feed it as straight and centered as you can. Although there is some leeway for movement, a slightly off-center start would bend the edges (or possibly jam it, I think - I didn't do it too badly - just enough to see the edge bending up a little, even though it turned out alright).The tiny gadget with the rounded corners is a separate gadget hidden in the back of the smartphone. After you pull it out, using it should be rather simple. You are prepared if you have ever cut your fingernails. Just enough of a radius exists around the sharp corners to prevent you from being scratched or poked. The gadget with the rounded corner has a little enclosed area to catch the waste. It appears to be a simple thing to peel it off and empty when it fills up.It only needed one practice sheet, and even that one was useful. The second one just required a few minutes to heat, trim, and round the corner after being prepared in just 30 seconds.I was unable to test any cold lam material, so I cannot comment on that approach.In the sake of full disclosure and to obtain my unbiased evaluation as a novice user of this machine, I was provided with a laminator to test. I work in the graphics and printing sector, therefore I am aware of how pricey and minimum-demand this service can be. If you only seldom need it, it's a good substitute for going to a copy shop.All in all, a decent small bundle for the money.

This laminator really impressed me. The pieces laminated very quickly once it was heated up and were ready to be picked up when they were finished. Additionally, I loved that I could use this machine to print on larger sheets, such 11x17. Having a new company will be very beneficial to me. I can store it while not in use because to its excellent compactness. The wavy and perforated cutters are something I never thought I'd need, but after seeing them in action, I can use them for tickets or RSVP cards. The corner rounder is small, has a limited capacity, and can only process one sheet at a time, but it gets the job done, protects you from sharp edges, and it also looks nice.

I've already laminated 24 pieces of paper. I got it because I wanted to laminate things from home, in the comfort of my pajamas, and because I'm a lazy instructor.The first fourteen were without issues, but on the fifteenth, the top left corner of the paper began to curl. It still appears to be hit or miss despite my attempts to place the papers in various locations (the menu vs. letter lines), increase the margins, etc. It sometimes emerges curled and sometimes it doesn't. I've included a few images and a video for your viewing pleasure. I am laminating with 3mm Amazon Basics sheets; possibly 5mm sheets would prevent the curling.Other than that, I think it's a decent laminator and I'm glad I bought it! Other from the curling issue, there are no strange odors or scents similar to those of other users.

My second laminator is this one. My first one eventually stopped, and I think it was definitely my fault. It was helpful to me. I cut out some extremely intricate snowflakes, but some of them tore easily when given as gifts or displayed. I so began thermal laminating each of them. Over the past two years, I can honestly state that I have laminated over 10,000 snowflakes. I buy 500-sheet packs of very cheap copy paper. I have cut out and laminated 3 packs since July this year. I coated some of my snowflakes with extremely fine glitter before laminating them because this machine is a monster. Some were sealed without any issues, but once they were, I had to get a new one. A cheap iron I bought is currently being introduced to snowflakes with glitter. I think my original laminator would still be functional. When I took it apart, I could see that the glitter wasn't laid out flat enough, which resulted in friction between the laminator's two rollers, which made the rollers turn unevenly. LEARNED LESSON. I gave this machine five stars since I am aware of how frequently I used it and how well it performed. Happy holidays and thanks for reading.Update: It's still running flawlessly thousands of snowflakes later. I need to order extra pouches once more.This infatuation with snowflakes has really taken hold. I think this machine is a tiny workhorse. I am divided 2 ways on this review. I ordered one of these last year, needed to have it for the infrequent cards/documents I want to laminate. I really just used it a number of times, and then months later, it broke. Just simple stopped working. I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure, I should surely get more than a year out of it, especially with only sporadic usage. But no, it didn't even last a year. I would pretty angry. It literally stopped working right in the middle of me laminating my new CPR card, it almost damaged the card because the laminating sleeve was only half-melted onto it. I soon sent a message to Amazon customer service and to my great surprise, they promised to immediately ship me a new one, at no cost! I was astonished, I know they have had amazing service in the past, but this truly FAR beyond my expectations.Within 2 days, I had my new laminator at my doorstep and it is performing as beautifully as the previous one did on the first day. I was also allowed to print a return label at no expense to send the damaged equipment back, and I did so, joyfully. So far so wonderful. The replacement unit is still working. I just hope that it keeps it up, and that I can get a few years out of it, as I really don't use it all that often. I have yet to see any concerns with utilizing either 3ml or 5ml pouches, as I do have both. I likewise have not had any trouble with the un-jam feature. So, only time will tell if this holds up. But anyway, I am definitely 100% delighted with Amazon's great customer service, even though I am still a little apprehensive regarding this product. Regarding this review, I'm conflicted. I purchased one of these last year since I occasionally need to laminate cards or other paperwork. I only really used it a few times before it broke a few months later. Just outright ceased to function. I found it hard to believe. I assumed that, even with only occasional use, I would get more than a year out of it. But no, it was short-lived—not even a year. I would be rather irate. It literally stopped working as I was laminating my new CPR card, nearly ruining it because the laminating sleeve was still just partially melted onto it. I quickly contacted Amazon customer service, and much to my amazement, they offered to send me a replacement right away for no charge! Although I knew they provided excellent service in the past, I was nonetheless taken aback because this much surpassed my expectations.My replacement laminator arrived at my door within two days, and it functions just as well as the original one did on the first day. Additionally, I could print a free return label to ship the broken item back, which I gladly did. All is well thus far. The new device is still functional. Since I don't actually use it all that much, I simply hope it keeps going and that I can use it for a few more years. I have both 3ml and 5ml pouches, and I have yet to experience any issues with either one. I haven't encountered any issues with the un-jam feature either. So, whether this endures will depend on time. Even if I am still a little hesitant about this product, I am still really happy with Amazon's fantastic customer service. As a special education preschool teacher, I frequently laminate materials to keep them safe for future use. I typically use card stock and 5ml pouches, so I needed a laminator that could handle frequent use and thick projects. In particular, I wanted something that could get hot enough because open corners are the worst. I should also mention how hard I work my laminators! In light of the frequent use and/or careless use (oops! ), this would be the third or fourth laminator in a short period of time. The laminators that I have the most trouble with jam, don't get heated enough, or make an awful squeaky noise. I spent some time looking into laminators, and if anything had received good and dependable reviews, I probably would have paid more. The pricing was reasonable, and the reviews were favorable as well. I also love scotch pouches a lot because they are so inexpensive for the high quality, so I thought I would give this a shot. LOVE! It exceeded what I had anticipated. It's almost silent! It contains an anti-jam button and two size options (3 or 5 ml). Additionally, there is a nice location to wrap the cord for storage or commuting to and from work. It laminates very quickly as well! I would without a doubt advise.
