This is the best remedy for speaker pop! A pre-amp and three amplifiers for a home theater were involved in my circumstance. The trigger for the pre-amp is 12VDC. However, the amplifiers turn on so quickly that a loud speaker pop occurs before the pre-amp is ready. I connected an old stereo headphone wire with a 3.5mm jack to the Furman's remote input. Close to the headphones, cut the wire leads. Using a lighter, remove the lacquer from all three wires. Leave the copper wire alone and twist the red and green wires together. Put copper into GND and twisted cable as REM in the Furman. Flip on Furman Dip Switch No. 1. Connect the stereo jack to the trigger's 12VDC preamp. Voila! The Furman now switches on my subwoofer amplifier, 2-channel amplifier, and 7-channel amplifier in that order. For basic EMI/RFI filtering, I like the straightforward Pi filter. When connecting amps, there's no need to overly complicate the filters. the better, the simpler. fantastic sound too

The final item purchased in the process of switching to a new home entertainment system was the Furman M-8Dx power conditioner. I started looking into power conditioners and surge protectors since I did not want to use a regular power strip due to the installed equipment's total cost. This product definitely straddles the line between excellent features and a reasonable price. There are numerous outlets on the back of the unit and a convenient outlet on the front. The structure is sturdy and made entirely of metal. I haven't utilized the front outlet yet, but given how my component cabinet is set up, this is definitely a plus. Cool features like the digital voltmeter are uncommon at this pricing bracket. Since installing the unit around two months ago, I have experienced no problems. Without hesitation, I would repurchase it.

My second furman power conditioner is this one. The other one is still in service and hasn't had any problems after 18 years. The 18-year-old exhibits the actual voltage and has never encountered dangerous levels. Used in conjunction with everything else I needed to provide electricity for, including mobile DJ applications (many lights/scanners, and drove CE 2000 crown amp). Additionally, I used it for an 8-space rack of guitar and voice effects processors. Still functions, as I mentioned; never repaired. Why are there more readouts on the more expensive models when you can just set it and forget it? The meter on my other car normally reads 117, but it might also be 118 or 119. So what follows? In my 1950s-era house, it drives three pinball machines from the 1990s. Never needed to reset or have a fuse pop. affordable insurance.

I work with a customer in a small town, and whether it was the setting or the structure itself, the electricity was regularly destroying networking hardware, a computer, and several peripherals. At first, I wasn't too pleased with the packaging and state in which the item (bought from World Wide Stereo) arrived because it appeared to be in very poor condition. I had gotten a mail from World Wide Stereo asking for my feedback on the product's quality and delivery (Furman PST-8 surge protector). I voiced my worries and then sent images of the broken package along with my doubts about whether the device would even operate properly. In less than 30 minutes, I received a phone call from their "Client Support Specialist." I am unable to express how anxious they were that their service and goods be 100% perfect. To cut a long tale short, they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. It's encouraging to know that there are still people and businesses out there who care, as you don't see a lot of that these days. I would highly suggest them and will most definitely return to shop there. To put a pleasant cap on the tale, I installed the device that very day, and everything functions well!In terms of the unit, I did research and watched videos until I was quite certain of what I DID NOT WANT to buy. I saw a YouTube video where the guy disassembled about six different "surge protectors" so you could see what was inside. I'll simply say it: it's frightful! The majority of these appear to be fires waiting to happen. You really do get what you paid for with these items. Spend a few bucks more to acquire an excellent unit as a favor to yourself. Using my study as a guide, I decided to purchase this Furman Furman PST-8 SMP EVS LiFT 15-Amp Aluminum Chassis 8-Outlet Cable and Telco Protection Advanced Level Power Conditioning. While it was a little more than I had hoped to pay, objectively speaking, it was MUCH CHEAPER than a house fire or one of my pricey electronic devices being damaged by an electrical imbalance. I think of it as "Buy Once, Cry Once." You won't ever turn around.

This power supply switching module for rack/table mounting is excellent.Before I bought it and put it to the test, I had no idea how adaptable it was.The module is sent safely wrapped and with a handbook that describes all of the setup possibilities and settings.There are 3 always-on outlets and 7 outlets that can be set up for delayed power-on features.You can do this to control how long each device powered by the module will wait before turning on.Although the front display's contrast level can be adjusted, I've found that leaving it at default works best in a room with regular lighting.There are l LED indicators on the unit's face that show the line voltage provided to the module, the number of Amps the equipment is drawing, whether the module is properly grounded, if it is overloaded, and whether it is grounded properly. There is also a power button.When you turn on each switch outlet, the delay duration you select also applies when you turn that outlet off.I use the module to power my footswitches, tube amplifiers, and any other audio gear I might have in my digital audio workstation. This module, in my experience, is completely silent and doesn't cause any noise, interference, or crosstalk in my system.You can be sure that lightning or any other power surge won't harm your priceless equipment because the module is also over-current protected.Overall, if you're powering a home cinema, a recording studio, or anything else that calls for clean, secure power to your equipment, I would strongly recommend this. Since I bought this power conditioner, I've spent many thousand dollars on studio gear; thus, I need another G5BLK for rack-mount gear. Without any hesitancy at all. In order to fit and safeguard the equipment in my expanding studio, I ordered another one of these cabinets. I recently came upon a comparison between an APC and a Furman unit, both of which were opened to demonstrate their differences. The APC is a significantly better product with entirely isolated outputs and related parts. This unit is heavy because of this. Integral components use the entire case space. The Furman was more pricey, but it also appeared to be "cheap" and rather empty. Quality is what I require for my investment. Simply put, this is the best item around $400.

solid and well-made. I've had great success with various Furman power conditioners in a variety of installations. From this level to high end AV equipment, pro PA rack power, and other systems, there was never a problem. Never have I attempted to quantify the results of the power conditioning. This was the bare least I would suggest to him for his basic AV system install and was purchased for a client. More than anything else, the surge protection features were the primary reason for buying.Regarding the advantages of Power Conditioning, many assertions are made. I believe that my own system, which uses Furman 20 amp Elite power conditioners, can detect the difference. While I won't make any claims about the depth and width of the soundstage, improvements in the clarity and transparency of the music, or anything else of the sort (because I can't REALLY hear that sort of improvement as some claim), I will say that when my own power amps (Parasound) are connected to my more expensive Furman conditioners, I do notice a refinement and sense of reserve.But neither am I proposing that this amount of or this specific product would significantly alter the sound or visual, as it is not the primary reason you purchase the kind of product reviewed here. To safeguard your expensive equipment from surges and fluctuations in the AC line as well as lightning strikes, this gadget should be purchased AT LEAST. This kind of purchase is well worth the minimal cost with any audio, video, or computer equipment for that kind of safety and piece of mind.

I wish I had known about this product sooner; the cheaper power bars I've bought throughout the years make me regret it. The less expensive brands, such as Monster and other "quality brands," do not offer this degree of security and filtering. Additionally, the less expensive ones all pass away over time, so they quit guarding my belongings. One severe storm can destroy their surge protection, forcing you to replace it. Due to the way the Furman protection is built, which includes multi-stage protection that the competition lacks, it will essentially survive "forever."I strongly advise you to spend a few hundred dollars and secure that equipment if you spend a fair amount of money on your computer, TV, stereo, etc. Because of the filtering and conditioning, it will last and your audio and video quality will also get better. You can tell a difference when plugged into this Furman versus a wall socket, however I'm not sure why.Highly suggested for use with expensive home electronics as well as for touring artists' amplifiers, PA systems, etc. I now have several of these.

Although I wasn't sure what to anticipate for the price, I have to admit that this is a fantastic deal!Although the container is not a grand piano, what is inside appears to be very sturdy. The well-organized internal wiring would be permitted up to 18 Amps under NEC criteria with 90°C insulation, but these wires are rated to 105°C, so there is a great safety buffer here even if the unit is overall rated for 15 Amps and fitted with the appropriate breaker. When I had mine cracked open, I wasn't able to get a good look at the ratings of the switches or outlets, but they both seem quite sturdy. As an added benefit, the switches are DPDT, meaning that whatever you switch off is entirely disconnected except for Ground. Speaking of the switches, they are the perfect brightness to see in a well-lit space without being too distracting in the dark.It claims on the package that it is rated for 15 Amps overall and 600 Watts each channel, which makes me wonder about that. This should be able to take at least 1,800 Watts per channel, unless the switches or outlets are rated for substantially less than the wiring (which would really surprise me). I haven't seen anything that would make me think that 600 Watts is the technical maximum of any one outlet. Obviously, that's the limit for the entire device, so you could only go that high on one channel at a time. Don't believe you can pull 600 Watts through all eight outlets at once because 600 Watts X 8 outlets is 4,800 Watts, which is obviously much more power than this can take. That notation truly annoys me. I actually don't care because I won't be carrying anything close to that kind of load for my purposes. If you're considering utilizing this for that much in a single outlet, you might want to ask the manufacturer for clarification or look inside to see the switch and outlet specifications.The only serious issue I have is that the cover's chassis screws aren't threaded into nicely tapped holes. They started tearing out whatever was originally holding them in after taking mine out to get the photos I shared. Consider that before you start spelunking. I'm not concerned about this on mine because it's tucked in with other stuff and the cover isn't moving.Overall though, it looks like this little guy is a wonderful price and was well-made electrically. See how neatly the wire is arranged in the photos I posted!
