This was bought in July, and as of November, just one of them is functional. But while they were at work, they looked incredibly nice.The issue is that these are not properly sealed, allowing ants to enter, get a ton of dirt inside, and rip up the interior. One is still operating for the time being, but I worry the same will happen to it. I captured what I found inside on camera. The one that isn't functioning right now is the one that is more messed up.I've contacted nektech, and I'll update this review whenever I hear back.They're sending me a new pair as of now. These items are BRILLIANT. Not the dim light I anticipated from the majority of solar lights you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot. To illuminate some recently planted trees in my backyard, I bought a set of two lights. I'll be getting more of them because I adore them. Given how strong the Low setting is and how bright it is, you might not even need the High setting. I used the Low setting for the photos I shot. Amber/yellow light is released, not blue, white, or bluish-white. Warm yellow describes it. The solar panels are sizable—roughly comparable to a cell phone. At 10 am, I placed these in the sun to charge. By dusk, these objects began to operate and produced a significant amount of light. They've only been in use for a day, but I hope they last. Because of the lack of light in my neighborhood, my front porch light is insufficient to illuminate my front yard or walkway. My walkways are lined with landscape timbers, but they aren't visible at night and are very easy to trip over if you forget they are there. You can actually see the landscaping timbers thanks to these solar lights, making it far less likely that you would trip over them. I installed these alongside the landscape timbers. The solar lights are quite attractive and emit a lot of light. Despite the fact that I awaken quite early and it is still largely black outside, the solar lights are strangely still on (about 7.5 hours after first coming on.) Most of these lights are made of plastic, not glass or metal, which after time may become discolored. Even when they are not dressed, they look great. I'll be honest right now and say that yes, I'm keeping these and yes, I'm buying a few more sets. Yes, it offers the best value for the money on Amazon. And sure, of the two LED alternatives, warm white is superior.The battery pack is the best shielded from the outdoors, the panels are larger, and the construction quality is far superior than other models. (Buy rechargeable batteries now, as none last indefinitely.)The design of them presents a serious issue. If the light source and the panel could swivel separately on the horizontal plane, these could be so much better. The light will make contact with the panel part and prevent some layouts because they can only rotate in the vertical direction.Why this is a problem is as follows: The grounds and homes of each individual vary. For the best charge, you should always face the solar panels south. But with this design, it is necessary for the light to face north in order to do that. Perhaps that isn't the best arrangement for your lighting requirements. It's quite improbable that you could equip an entire yard with them without having to make accommodations for the device's positioning, ideal sun exposure, and illumination direction. The strength of the panels will vary, and they will turn off at different times or start to deteriorate sooner than other panels if they are not all receiving about the same amount of solar exposure. Therefore, sacrifices are being made. What else has changed?As a side note, don't believe reviews that include pictures from the first night the item was unboxed or turned on! We absolutely adore these solar lights. They are beautiful, simple to install, and provide the ideal amount of light for our project. I placed each of the 16 in a planter on our covered deck. When positioned in the various planters' heights at night, it appears lovely. My other ones weren't nearly as comfy and were too big. The light shining through my plants makes them appear incredibly wonderful. Deer do not like to stick their heads into lights when they are chewing on your flowers at night, I recently learned. Although the light level doesn't seem to be quite consistent, I think that this gives the arrangement some charm and makes it look more natural and welcoming. The construction of the light is as expected for 12 for $20, but setting it up is incredibly quick and straightforward thanks to how simple it is to drive the plastic stakes into the ground.I placed an order for this set a month ago. One of the 12 was DOA, and gigalumi's lily (a very kind and helpful woman) contacted me by email before sending out a replacement. Sadly, the color is a little off (more yellow than orange per the warm white lights). I don't understand why their warehouse is only allowed to send out a random light color to repair a broken light, but apparently this is the reason. Obviously, they should replace the lights with that hue if you order a certain set rather than delivering you a random one, but whatever.I recently got a second set, and once again, one of them arrived DOA, leaving me less than pleased. When I vehemently objected to Lily's plan to send me a random light, she apologized for not being able to send me a certain hue and decided to refund my full purchase instead. I was searching for a change of pace from the usual solar lights, and these are just what I needed. Simply said, I don't like most walkway solar lights since they are so unsightly. I wanted to have some lights that looked like lanterns and hung on tiny shepherd hooks. Well, I'm delighted my wife convinced me otherwise on this occasion. I'm willing to bet that anyone who gave this product a bad review had unrealistic expectations and believed it would produce a lot more light. If you're searching for something to securely light up a walkway, these might not be the lights for you. Instead, get twice as many as you think you'll need. These lighting alternatives are more decorative and appear to be more expensive. These are ridiculously expensive for essentially $2 each bulb, considering how excellent they are. They are quite stable in the ground and emit a pretty cool-looking pattern. I'm considering purchasing a different set to complete the other two walk ways we have. My wife adored them and noticed the first thing when she got home because the front turned out really well. To at least be able to test and ensure you are not putting a defective light, mine were pre-charged, which was good. From a distance, they appear to be made of metal rather than plastic, so if I were driving by a house that had them, I would likely assume that they cost at least three times as much. They are merely a different kind of light overall. Sturdy and with a unique pattern and design. My favorite solar lights I've ever bought—and if you knew me, you'd know I've probably tried every kind ever produced. The real test will come with time, however if you keep some rechargeable batteries on available, I would think that would take care of the issue.
