You can also use a level, but if you just need to hang a few doors, a 6 foot level is a significant expense. With the install kit, a plumb bob won't lie and you just need one side to be level.

I so ended up leaving a remark on a review of this plumbum a little while ago since I couldn't think of a better kit and the 100% is a really excellent unit. However, my line of reasoning was sound and I couldn't locate a better plumbum. I may have pulled on it a little too hard at one point, but it has a hard time retracting. These guys saw my comment and are sending me a new one to support their claims. I'm not one who asks for things for free or goes through the hassle of trying to get things for free, but honestly hands-downThese guys are amazing and customer service, let alone the plumbob kid is freaking amazing.

The string seems a little bit cheap, but that's kind of knit picky. I thought it to be a shell with a lead weight in the bottom. Overall, it's a good plumb bob, but if you need one for business purposes, you should spend the extra money on something better (it lacks the ability to draw chalk lines). However, at under $8, it actually beats anything else. I weighed it on a scale (well, I got bored), and it was closer to 12.4 oz than I had thought, but I assume that they have looser machining tolerances and only indicate the minimum weight specified for a sample. Simply buy it if you plan to hang several of those prints one over the other.

This tool is straightforward. The string enters through the top after the top is unscrewed and is secured by a knot in the bottom. owing to gravity, creates a real perpendicular line. The tip is quite pointed and sharp. excellent machining. String not present. It will turn into a giant floaty mess if you try to use it in space.

I needed a method to prevent my plumb bob line from becoming twisted up in my toolbox for quite some time. I observed Tommy from This Old House using a comparable tool, albeit a fresh, less expensive plumb bob. I merely wanted to manage the line because I have an attractive old brass plumb bob.
