I've grown 20 seedlings in them to this point.excellent moisture retention and portability. The roots have little trouble escaping from these.What I found to be a helpful hint:Place a seed into each of the four quarters of a square after cutting it into four pieces. This gives you 4 times more in the long term and plenty of room to start the plant!I'll keep using it and would unquestionably suggest it for DWC hydroponic systems.

I've had this aerogarden for 2.5 weeks; it's the first one I've bought. Five out of the six pods in the 6-pod herb kit that came with it have sprouted. Despite the fact that the thyme should have sprouted after a maximum of 14 days, which has passed, the thyme has not done so. In response to my inquiry, aerogarden informed me that I would need to wait a full 21 days before receiving a replacement for the thyme. I'll make another effort to reach them.Watching the seeds sprout and grow has been a lot of pleasure, and it's simple. The system's overall brightness is the one aspect I dislike. It is so dazzling that I can't stare directly at it. In order to prevent myself and my family from becoming blind, I had to cover the entire area with a dark bag. I believe it would be lot better if it had some form of light blocker. It's so bright that I don't understand how somebody could put it on their desk at work as a decoration. Other than that, I'm quite pleased with my purchase and want to try the herbs soon.

If you've ever grown wheatgrass, you are aware of the mold problem. I got this for wheatgrass. I had intended to use this to soak the seeds as well, but the holes are too large. Some wheatberry seeds fell through, but the majority got stuck and had to be pulled out, ruining a good number of them. Instead, I soak and rinse the seeds in a jar with mesh over the top, and once they have sprouted, I line the white strainer tray with chemical-free coffee filters and cover the holes completely. I then use distilled water (so as not to contaminate the water) and I then close the lid, wrap a dark towel around it, and spray it every day until the grass takes root and the short, white blades just begin to emerge. After that, I placed it beneath my skylight and stopped using the lid. I take out the white plate with holes and thoroughly bathe the grass with my shower head or sink sprayer (for higher water pressure). This helps to wash any mold spores away. After thoroughly draining, I put it back in the green tray beneath the skylight. I never let water in the tray to stand. I practice this 1-2 times per day, and voila—wheatgrass free of mold!

73 Days in, doing fantastic. There are currently about 200 tomatoes that are ripe. I'll place an order for a replacement pack if they taste okay (I'll let you know in a few days) so we can have fresh tomatoes for the holidays. Despite the fact that it doesn't appear as attractive as the manufacturer's illustration and is beginning to turn brown like all tomato plants, I believe that a few hundred tomatoes will be sufficient for my daughter and myself, even if the plant eventually decides to stop producing more.Update: I'm still going strong after day 175! Look at the second through fourth photographs. I got a fresh pack to replant because I didn't think this one would last much longer. It's doing fantastically, and the vines still have hundreds of tomatoes growing on them.
