This paper is fantastic, and I've only recently begun using it. The pads only include 24 sheets, which is a drawback. This is essential for pastel drawings; going forward, this will be my go-to pastel paper. I recently purchased three different types of pastels, and it truly does make a difference. one hard and two soft pastels, one by Soho Urban Artist soft pastels and the other by Jack Richeson Round landscape trademark soft pastels. The hard pastels were made by Prismacolor. I also have two different kinds of pastel paper, but the Canson Mi Teintes pastel pad is by far the better product.

Lovely color and really great paper. This paper actually has the texture of a thick sheet of sand paper with coarse grit. Prepare yourself if you've never used sanded paper with pastels and have only used, say, Canson Mi Tientes. These things are a world of difference. The fact that it EATS pastels is the only thing I think one might quibble with. However, after touching the paper, that would be anticipated. This coarse grit gives the pastel so much bite that it can adhere to it and leave VIBRANT and BRILLIANT strokes of color. When applied, soft (chalk) pastels merge seamlessly. I used Prismacolor Nu-pastels and Fabercastell Soft (Chalk) Pastels ( in between a chalk and oil pastel). Both are beautiful to use and provide vibrant color. As a pastel painter, your time is well spent on this.

The paper matches the description. My order was delivered on schedule. It was in good shape when I got it. I only gave it a four star rating because I use it for oil pastels. When I started blending colors, I became aware that I was forming rolls. Now, I may have been the one who did this. It's great if you try it yourself because I combine heavily. I appreciate not having to try to cram everything onto a smaller sheet of paper because of the paper's size. overall though, excellent.

I prefer larger pastel paper, and this Strathmore paper is excellent for the price. Although more expensive paper is available, it is difficult to get better paper for the money. The paper colors are fantastic, and the size of this pad makes it convenient to bring to life drawing lessons for those moments when you feel like pulling out the pastels. It works well with both Prismacolors and soft pastels, so it is rather adaptable in that regard. Again, there are papers that are better, but this paper is reasonably priced for its quality.

This works well with paint, pencil, and pastel. On the papers, I typically use acrylic paint (and even gesso), and it won't bleed through. On this textured paper, oil pastels look fantastic.If you apply paint on this paper, it will curl when it dries, but if you iron it flat, it won't matter.Beware that the paper becomes blue after the first few pages, which are on lovely muted chalky paper.I used oil pastels, gesso, acrylic paint, and even sewing on the paper to create the image. I didn't use a lot of liquid because this was painted on a small area of paper, yet the paper still kept all of the texture.
