Guys, please refrain from stabbing your needle felting projects so forcefully that they pierce the foam, brush, or woolbuddy mats beneath them. The needle's barbs are merely on the tip; you don't have to thread your projects all the way through. That will result in ruined mats, maybe very bloody fingers, and possibly very bloody projects.) I don't really have a strong view because I'm new to needle felting. They appeared to be feeling okay. Even though my finger tips were made of leather, I still managed to stab myself. However, I believe that most of that was due to my poor aim and overzealous enthusiasm. It's nice that it arrived packaged in a box. I can reassemble all the components in the box and store it.

I've never used a pen-style needle felting tool before, so I'm quite happy to have one now. I also have a bigger Clover tool that holds five needles, but it's not ideal for tiny or 3-D items (I use it on cookie cutter ornaments and wall hangings). I have been utilizing a single needle by itself, without a holder, for smaller crafts and 3-D objects. I made the decision that it was time to try some pen style holders and step it up a bit. Since I've like previous Clover products, including several for needle felting, I went with their 1-3 needle pen.The needle holder is the perfect size and form, and it functions flawlessly. I've only used it so far with three needles, but I really like how much quicker things work up when I do. Since the needles are close together, it is simple to manage the treatment area.The three provided needles are "fine" (Clover only offers two sizes), making them ideal for detailing, finishing work, and little projects. For building up cores, you should use felting needles with a smaller gauge. Although Clover doesn't number their needles, they might be 39/40?The top pink section is detachable if you need the needles to extend further in the project you're working on, such as a larger 3-D animal. Just be aware that if you use more than two thirds of the provided needles, the needles may break more quickly (and is not suggested). To swap out or replace the needles, twist the white ring off the pink handle. There are ridges in the transparent needle cover that fit over an indentation in the pink tool's top.

The larger wooden tool carries eight needles, making it ideal for felting bigger objects, while the smaller one holds just one, making it ideal for adding details or joining pieces together.Although the needles are not of the greatest quality, they still function well, and with the kit's big supply, I am still happy with it. This was my first buy to help my new pastime of felting because I had never done it before. The size is ideal, and the eight needles significantly shorten the felting process. I can grasp the handle in comfort because it is the ideal size. I had no trouble disassembling the handle. There are no shaky or ill-fitting needles because of how securely it retains the needles. My fingers would be so much happier knowing that there are no longer any accidental pokes if I could just get used to the fact that there are 8 needles instead of 1.

This is a fantastic all-wool pad that is durable and long-lasting. It is highly solid, making it ideal for 3D needle felting, sculptural needle felting, and wool sculpting. I discover that I don't wind up felting my pieces into my typical foam pads because the needle doesn't penetrate the pad deeply. (I still adore a high-density eco-foam pad for felting, commonly known as wool painting, in flat (2D) form. For greater precision, the foam maintains the flat picture better.) However, this wool pad is dense and works well as a protecting pad. I have to purposefully drive my needles forcefully into them in order for them to penetrate or stick. Since the wool is not being forced into a pad during felting, the wool item is the main focus. There is some vm (vegetable matter) because this is natural, but I'm used to using natural core wool with vm, so I prefer seeing it and knowing the wool has undergone little processing. I simply use tweezers to remove any anything that I don't want to be trapped there (which is rare). Although it took me some time to get used to the stiff felting pad, I now enjoy how my wool figures and 3D items are barely penetrated by the needles. A well-made pad that is strong and long-lasting.
