I should start by mentioning that I've never made my own cups and have only ever eaten Moscow mules in pubs and restaurants. I therefore cannot comment on the durability. certain things to avoid:1. I find the shape a little strange. I'm used to the ones that are tubular rather than rounded like these.2. They differ slightly in size from other ones I've used. I think it was a 16 oz. vcs.3. They are simple to hold since the handle is large enough to make up for the increased size.4. After use, you must clean and DRY them. Don't leave them submerged in water in the sink. They will deteriorate5. They are a great copper mug aside from that. great weight, seem to be of good quality, and maintain the proper level of cooling for the beverage.I'm not sure if the size is the only reason they are a little more expensive than some others.
