I've been using this for two weeks to lay down porcelain planks and the backerboard underneath. Exactly what I needed. It feels cosy in my hands (though I do have big hands - the grip seems rather large if someone had smaller hands). The only issue I've noticed is that the bottom of it started to rust after I let it dry after washing it one day because I strive to keep my equipment clean. It's been fantastic. The two outermost pieces on the edge are somewhat bent up, but I gently bent them back into place.

I spent 20 years working in a manufacturing facility where we used this Scotch-Brite Pad. For cleaning rust and numerous other stains and debris from the metal items we made, we utilized it as an alternative to sand paper. They could replace "Brillo Pads" or Steel Wool pads, in my opinion. I looked them up on Amazon one day and was shocked to see that they were available for a very affordable price. I paid about $23.00 for a package of 20. If you will, this thing is the bomb. With a little Dawn dishwashing soap, it scrubs dried-on food from kitchen plates and utensils better than steel wool and lasts longer. As I indicated, each cushion is roughly nine inches by six inches and comes in a package with 20. I used scissors to trim mine to be 3 inches by 6 inches, giving me 60 pads for roughly $0.38 cents each. Some of those were divided in half to create 3 inch by 3 inch pads. For dried-on food, the 3 X 3 is what we refer to as the "Nasty" pad, and the 6 X 6 is what we refer to as the "Clean" pad. I'm a stickler for clean dishes, so before loading them into the dishwasher, I run my plates under hot water with one of the pads to remove any caked-on food or foreign material. You may think that I have a terrible dishwasher, but I don't. Simply put, I don't want dried-on food debris to block the screen in the bottom of my $1000.00 dishwasher. Similar to the Cascade Platinum dishwashing detergent advertisement with the young girl asking, "My Mom washes the dishes BEFORE she puts them in the dishwasher, So.. What does the dishwasher do?" Anyway, this will replace your Brillo Pad and won't rust. It will also clean counter tops, restore the luster to old aluminum and stainless steel cookware, and scrub linoleum floors like nobody's business. Just like sandpaper, keep in mind that this product WILL scratch some surfaces, such nonstick cookware. Cleaning potatoes before baking works great. Try it out but pay attention to specific surfaces. I've placed three orders and endorse this product.

Unfortunately, I received a flawed one and had to swap for another. Where the tang is welded, there is a high/low spot. After welding, high-end models are smoothed out. The first one, however, had a significant nick on one edge halfway down, which caused a line when attempting to smooth cement, grout, etc. But other than the roughness by the tang, the replacement was perfect and defect-free. Other than that, the balance of the handle angle and blade is excellent. For mixing cement, grout, and concrete patching, the blade is thick. Additionally, it works well for buttering tiny tiles or moving little amounts of substance to corners. I can deal with using this trowel for my recreational masonry work given the price.

Excellent for my rigging job. The tool performed flawlessly and had a good handle and the ideal size. When you master the tool, you can really bang out a lot of square feet, but working alone is difficult.I purchased a hawk pad, but I seldom ever used it because I spent most of my time on the ground and discovered that scraping it out of the barrow was quicker and easier.

It appears to be a high-quality shovel that costs around 50% less than the genuine Kerdi brand trowel. The 1/8" square notch trowel was used to install Kerdi membrane on shower walls and floors, and it performed just as it should.Maybe the extra beefiness of the Kerdi one would be worthwhile if I frequently performed this type of job, but for the few times this will be used, I was delighted to save some money.Every trowel and drywall knife I purchase comes with the same criticism from me: why can't they create labels that are simpler to remove? After using a razor blade and soaking in hot water to remove the majority of the label, use lighter fluid to remove any remaining glue.

I used this device to install large format porcelain tile covering 375 square feet. I regret not ordering two of them. I had to clean the tool each time before mixing the second half of the thinset bag since I could only put down a half bag before it started to get a little dry. I could have used the second tool right away on the second half of the bag if I had bought two tools, dumped the first one in a bucket of water after use, and cleaned both tools at the same time at the end of each day. I'm not a trained tile installer. Those who have seen my new tile floors claim that even though I am a slow amateur, I am accurate, and the results are just as nice as those of any professional. The $3.00 plastic mixing buckets should be thrown away rather than taking the time to clean them after each use, I've also learned. I could only do around 50 square feet of tile with a fifty pound bag of LFT thinset in a single day. Younger individuals or those employing assistance might likely place a lot more tiles each day. I did it all by myself, down to buttering the 24 by 24 tiles on the back.

LVP (luxury vinyl plank) flooring was recently installed in my house. The tools I would require for the job, including a triangular ruler, an extra-long ruler, spacers, utility blades, knee guards, etc., were all acquired through Amazon. The tapping block was the one area where I cut corners. Who needs a fancy tapping block when a block of wood will do just as well? I reasoned since I had some scrap wood left over from a previous project. Actually, it doesn't, and I discovered this the hard way.For the first day or so, the block of wood was functioning effectively. I used a rubber mallet with caution, being cautious not to scratch the grooves. I started to feel exhausted after spending a lot of time installing flooring (and even more time before that doing the deconstruction). I was eager to finish because I could see the progress! My block ended up chipping off, and the worst part is that I didn't notice until it had damaged some of my priceless carpeting. I ended up hitting my knuckles and fingertips quite a few times. It's time to unwind...I ordered the Bullet Tools Tapping Block from Amazon after finding it there, and it arrived at my door within a few days. It satisfied all the requirements: Made in the USA; reasonably priced; durable; grooved; and handle (to protect fingertips). The following weekend, with the new block, the installation went a lot more smoothly! This particular block comes in a bigger size, but I didn't need it. I was able to tighten all the seams for a neat appearance using a pull bar. Funny thing is, a tapping block isn't listed among the necessary tools on the flooring manufacturer's website. Without it, I don't know how I would be able to do the task! The seams simply cannot be made sufficiently tight by hand.To avoid making the same errors I did, I would advise anyone installing flooring themselves to invest in the appropriate gear.
