No, all trash compactors are not the same size. Some are small enough to fit under a kitchen sink, while others are large enough to handle commercial-sized loads.
Trash compactors can be bad for the environment if they are not properly maintained and used. If trash compactors are not emptied regularly, they can leak hazardous materials into the ground and water.
No, trash compactors are not standard size. The size of a trash compactor will vary depending on the model and manufacturer. Some trash compactors are designed to be installed under a kitchen sink, while others are freestanding units.
Yes, trash compactors are still made. They are a convenient way to reduce the amount of trash that you have to take out to the curb. They are also a great way to recycle.

I was concerned the bags wouldn't fit in the compactor because of their size. However, they perform better than the knockoff brand I initially used with the compactor. I haven't gone through a complete bag yet, so I'm not sure how the holes will hold up through many compacts, but they do fit over the plastic pegs.

I concur with Linda's assessment of these bags from the prior reviewer. Despite the fact that my replacement 18" Kitchenaid (now referred to as commercial size) is not very old, this size bag is no longer available in my location. It's great to have bags that fit, can hold a week's worth of garbage, can be conveniently stored in the compartment in the front of the compactor that is designed only for them, and don't tear at the corners when compacting like the larger 15" bags that only Paul Bunyon can stretch to fit. You have to reach down, pull up the sidewalls, and re-insert the trash because those create a mess. These are heavier than black 30 gal garbage bags, which tear, even though they are not quite as heavy. They fit nicely, hold more waste, and have not torn. As each pak lasts for 15 weeks, I place an annual order of 4 paks the first year, and once the final pak of bags is opened, I place an annual order of 3 paks. Give me a couple additional every year so I can empty them more frequently than once per week. Perfect! Find the merchant to be trustworthy as well, thus I may suggest a buy. These trash compactor bags are unquestionably the best. The paper is thick and includes a thin layer of plastic within to assist catch liquids. Despite being completely filled, they have never torn apart and can store a ton of pulverized trash. Despite the fact that I'm sure it would work for other brands, I use it in a Kenmore garbage compactor. One important thing to remember is to push it open and place it into the square shape before pushing it into your compactor. This will make it lay flat and prevent the bag's top from catching on your compactor.

I have just recently begun using these bags, but my early assessment is that they will be perfectly adequate. They seem and feel thinner than the original bags I used, but they handled and felt the same as the originals. The fact that they were cheaper and composed of post-consumer materials really shifted the scale in their favor.

I was first hesitant to purchase the product since I wasn't sure if it would fit in our kitchen aid compactor. Many thanks to all who reviewed it and predicted it would. We previously purchased 60 ct of sears Kenmore crush high duty bags on Amazon for $60 while they were on sale at sears. When we went to get them again, Amazon wanted over $130 (as you can see, they eventually dropped to $60). However, they were somewhat overpriced at that new level, so I wanted to test these more affordable bags and haven't had any issues. I was concerned that the bags might break because they felt thinner than the Kenmore crush, but I was relieved to discover that after numerous usage, there were never any issues at all with them ripping or torn. Bottom line: Kenmore crush seller lost our business when they became overly greedy. These work just as well as Kenmore crush bags and, as I previously stated, they are compatible with Kitchen Aid compactors. Just make sure your compactor has the right 15" depth. The bag's security holes align perfectly and are simple to attach.

Read the evaluations and used them... adore them In fact, I prefer these to generic plastic brands. These are a perfect fit for my JennAir compactor. They occasionally leak, in my experience, and only when pressed. Really, one shouldn't be dumping liquids into a compactor. Okay, so some things kind of liquefy, and if that gets too bad, I've had some leaking. I simply avoid doing that. They are simple to put in and remove from my compactor. If you care about that sort of thing, they are also more "green" than the alternatives that use all plastic because they use less of it. I do.I have seen a few complaints about the bags tearing. I just can't see how you could if you removed them correctly. Since I could see why it tore, the one tear I had made me think, "OK, I'm a nerd." To fit around the edges of the compactor, the bag's top has split corners, which it does admirably. Because the corners are split, if you don't take care when removing the bag, you could completely rip them down. Instead of just grabbing and yanking that sucker out of there, if you give it some thought, you might fold the edges back up and unroll them to create a high top section that you can pull together into the middle of the compactor space and pull vertically to remove the bag. There is no tearing issue and it slides out easily. Since I realized I was making my life difficult, I haven't experienced any problems. These bags are of good quality, they fit perfectly, and they are reasonably priced. Try them out.

Updated review: I've been using these bags since I received them more than six months ago. I must admit that I am quite happy with how long-lasting these bags are.I recycle and crush aluminum cans using my compactor. Even with leather gloves on, the bags I was previously using would always rupture as soon as I went to remove them, leaving several cuts on my hands and arms. Not to mention the time lost in rebagging crushed cans so that they could be transported to the recycling facility and dumped into a bin. These bags are perfect for my needs and have removed the delays and cost overruns incurred when rebagging was necessary.
If your trash compactor isn't working properly, there are a few things you can do to try and fix it. First, check to see if the compactor is plugged in and that the outlet it is plugged into is working. Next, check to see if the compactor is turned on. If it is, then the next thing to check is the compactor bag. If the bag is full, it will need to be replaced. Finally, if none of these things seem to be the problem, you may need to call a professional to come and take a look at your comp
Most people would say no, but technically you can. However, it's not recommended as it could damage the compactor. Also, if the metal is sharp, it could puncture the bag and cause a mess.
You should not use regular trash bags in a trash compactor because they are not made to withstand the compacting process. The bags can tear and leak, making a mess. Instead, use trash bags that are specifically made for use in a trash compactor. These bags are stronger and won't tear as easily.
A residential trash compactor is a machine that is used to compress trash in order to reduce its volume. This is done by reducing the amount of air in the trash. The compactor compresses the trash by using a hydraulic ram that pushes the trash against a metal plate. The force of the ram compresses the trash and forces the air out. The compressed trash is then stored in a container that can be disposed of later.
Trash compactors are built to last and can handle a lot of abuse. However, like any other appliance, they will eventually break down. Most trash compactors will last for 10 to 15 years with proper maintenance.
A trash compactor typically costs between $150 and $200. The price varies depending on the size and features of the unit. Some trash compactors come with a built-in deodorizer, while others have a manual lever that activates the compaction process.
