Drumheads should be changed every few months to keep them sounding fresh.
Drumheads are coated with a variety of materials, including clear plastic, white plastic, black plastic, and metal. The type of coating determines the drumhead's durability, sound, and feel. Clear plastic is the most popular type of coating, as it provides a bright, clean sound. White plastic is less popular, as it tends to produce a duller sound. Black plastic is the least popular type of coating, as it tends to produce a muddy sound. Metal is the most durable type of coating, but it produces a very harsh sound.
Most modern drumheads are made of plastic. The two most common types of plastic are Mylar and polyester. Mylar is a synthetic polymer that is strong and durable. Polyester is a synthetic polymer that is less durable than Mylar but is less expensive.

There is no better head for a marching snare's non-high tension resonant (snare side) head. It is simple and even to tune thanks to the ideal thickness, decreased ring, and Evans 360. As you tune it up, just make sure the hoop is level or even with the rim. The rim or hoop can be mounted unevenly and the heads will still tune up because of how uniformly their pitches are distributed.

that they are paying $50 for a complete marching snare. Amazing heads, these. They are considerably better singers than the falam heads, in my opinion. Hybrid Coated Snare Batter Drum Head is what I'd suggest if you're searching for a head for a non-marching snare because tightening this head on a regular drum will probably shred the screws on your lugs. Use this as a marching snare head alone.
