I bought three of them along with a traveling box and matching hi-hat stand. I chose a single braced Tama stand instead of the snare stand since it appeared to be insufficiently solid to support a large 6.5" Black Beauty snare. My entire hardware case now weighs roughly 30-35 pounds instead of the previous 80 pounds it did when fully equipped with floor tom legs and a bass drum tom mount. Don't move the drums; save your energy for playing them. has greatly increased the fun of gigging.

PDP offers a top-notch mid-weight stand. It offers a good stand at a reasonable price and is clear-cut and uncomplicated. This is what I use for a medium 16" crash. No matter how hard you may beat on the cymbal, it is firmly locked in place. On the riser, the stand is double secured and reinforced. For the unaware, DW is the owner of PDP. PDP is their "cheap" brand, but they still use DW-caliber materials. For anyone looking to add a single straight cymbal stand to their kit, I would highly recommend this.

However, I do not believe this will be a long-term solution for my travel gear. This should last for around a year before needing to be replaced. Considering the price, I would still purchase.
