It's ideal to use this locking drop box. It has a strong locking mechanism and a polished appearance. We had multiple money orders and checks stolen from our mail slot in our glass door, which was lying on the floor, before installing this. Since installation, we are aware of zero thefts or attempted thefts. a very reliable and expert locking drop box.Update: 5/1/18 - The door and frame were split apart by someone prying above the lock to steal rent checks. We'll need to replace this with a more secure locking mechanism. Reduce rating from 5 to 2 stars; while a nice box, it isn't theft-proof.A locking bar made of steel that is 1" wide and fastens through the wall to the interior of the office was added across the front of the box as of 5/16/18. Even the most determined thief cannot break into these bulletproof structures anymore. They would actually have to employ a cutting torch or tear the wall away from the building. appears secure and good-looking.

superior caliber. A regular box simply isn't adequate anymore in this day and age of widespread mail theft and fraud. I have video of the lady burglar who broke apart the cheap boxes from the budget hardware shop with her bare hands, so don't waste your time with these. They are essentially just compressed tin foil. Weatherstripping to keep water out and three laser-cut keys are thoughtful additions to this box. The laser cut keys that were formerly only found on high-end automobiles are now found on this mailbox! So even if it's nearly impossible to pick the lock, keep your keys close by because you can't simply take them to a mall kiosk for replication if you lose them. Steel used in the box has thick gauge to prevent cutting and prying.There are two small issues, neither of which justifies taking away any stars. They both relate to the upper door. First of all, I wish it had an internal weight so that when I let go of the handle, it would close on its own. Because of the way it is now constructed, if your mail carrier forgets to close it, it simply remains open. Not a problem, barring rain. Second, and this is just me being paranoid, I wish the handle itself was welded to the sheet metal as opposed to being fastened by plain Phillips screws that are readily tampered with. I replaced mine with tamper-resistant M4-10mm Torx screws.Otherwise, I'd buy it again without a doubt.

A stylish device with a postal access door that discourages theft, something that most other wall-mounted mailboxes do not have. It was simple to install the box beneath the eaves next to my front entrance. The circular security key is significantly superior than other units' conventional locks and keys. Yes, this model was a little more expensive than others, but in my opinion, the peace of mind that comes from knowing that it would be EXTREMELY difficult for someone to extract mail from the top access slot is worth the extra cost. The only problem is that the mailman left every magazine on the tray below since he thought the box wouldn't hold the big number of magazines that were delivered one day. All magazines would have fit in the box, proving that the mailman was mistaken (I checked it myself). As a result, the problem lies with the USPS and NOT with the package. There is no reason why this product won't endure for a very long time.

We only needed a box for keys and odd documentation, so we had few options. It looks excellent, was simple to assemble, and was mounted outside. I can't say how well the waterproof is yet; it hasn't been in place long enough to judge, but I think it was a fantastic choice.

People have been stealing my mail for the past few months. I made the decision to purchase a mailbox with a lock. I found this reasonably priced mailbox throughout my hunt. It would be easier to install if it came with instructions. Other than that, this reasonably priced mailbox is fantastic because I no longer have to worry about mail theft.

Excellent mailbox that is well made; I'm quite satisfied with it.The actual review and points are as follows:I recently purchased a home—actually, a condo—in a historic district. As a result, the apartment lacks the typical central mailbox system and all mail slots are integrated into the doors. Since I reside on the east coast, my home's ground floor was essentially losing all of its heat due to the region's extreme winter and summer temperatures. As you might guess, this really irritated me.But immediately next to my door is a tiny outside utility closet that I had put into my house. It is segregated or insulated from the inside and has a lockable door on its own. HVAC piping and other stuff were going through it most of the time. So I made the decision to put the Salisbury Mail Box/Slot into my "utility" closet door rather of letting all this heat escape through drafts. I will take my mail-slot from my door, fill it in with a block of wood, sand it all down, and paint it. It did fairly well, however keep in mind the following:1) If you're doing a bespoke installation, you should be skilled with a saw and generally skilled at repairing, changing, and using the product in ways that weren't intended.2) This item was designed by WALL MAILBOX. Which means that the mail chute will be protruding through a typical 2" to 3" (inch) door. You will need to cut the chute to size if you want to install an additional receptacle box, which Salsbury supplies. This seemed absurd to me because I have a closet specifically for mail.3) In order to properly install it and connect it to a 3 Inch Door, I had to drill through the Mail Box's front bezel. Nothing major. I followed the two screw holes that were already there.4) Keep in mind that the mail chute is SLANTED while cutting the hole inside the door because of this, you must first make the opening somewhat bigger and then shave off the booth area of the entrance at an angle to allow the chute to mount appropriately. When you're finished, use a block of wood as a cushion between the hammer and the mailbox to "knock" it into place. Additionally, you can use good caulk to seal the edge opening that will unavoidably remain.I give this mailbox 5 stars in total. Excellent heavy-duty aluminum construction may be found here. It would go well in practically any mail slot, in my opinion.If you have to include this into your garage door or front door, you can modify it with a little bit of work to close tightly and stop drafts. I would have routed a tiny region on the mail slot and mail box bezel and glued high-quality rare earth magnets into the area because this is an aluminum build. However, I did have a spare outdoor faceable closet, so the choice was still available. I've done a ton of research, and this is by far the greatest mailbox available for the size, build quality, and DIY possibilities.

I needed a mailbox that was more secure, and this sounded like a good deal.The steel is reasonably thick. It is big enough to carry a large size padded envelope or magazine and is not a flimsy mailbox. Contrary to many other "security" mailboxes, this one's mail slot is sufficiently small that it would be difficult for a criminal to jam their hand inside and remove the mail. The blue color is also very appealing to me; it like a tiny USPS mailbox.Cons: *A lock pick can open the lock with ease (I did it in one second), but opportunistic mail thieves are still deterred by this.The top drawer is held closed by a tiny neodymium magnet that is included, however as the mailman shoved huge goods inside, it kept coming off and sticking inside the mailbox. I used some superglue to fix this issue.
