adore it I alternated between this and the well-liked Surefire X300 (which is quite a bit more expensive). The positive feedback for the on/off/strobe switch on the Steamlight was what I found most appealing. The constant on with your trigger finger or the intermittent on/strobe with your support hand thumb are both very simple to use. I couldn't be happier with how this looks mounted on my Glock G40. I bought the 10mm to use as a sidearm for hunting, and I needed a light that could "stretch out" and illuminate things. This light sure does that, boy! You may observe objects in the woods at night from a distance. The beam, which appears to be a bit wider than the Surefire, was also appealing to me (again for the purpose I chose it for in the woods). It is bright, so depending on how near you are to a wall or other obstruction when you turn it on in a room or enclosed space, you risk becoming blinded. Overall, for around $80 less than I would have paid for the Surefire, I'm quite satisfied with the quality and usefulness. Your expectations won't be let down by the TLR-1 HL. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you purchase this lamp, spend a moment watching the YouTube video that explains how to open the battery compartment. For a while now, I have had weapon lights. The Streamlight TLR1 HL and TLR-7 (Sig P320 Compact, Springfield XDm, and Glock 19), the Surefire XC (on Springfield XDm), the Inforce APL and APLc (Springfield XDm, and Glock 19), and the Olight PL MINI Valkyrie 1 are the flashlights I use on my handguns (Sig P320 Compact). The 500 Lumen TLR-7 on my EDC Sig P320 Compact will be replaced by the 600 Lumen Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie. It even fits in my TLR-7-specific EDC holster.I have a few TLR1 HLs and adore them; they will stay on my tactical carry guns because I prefer a lot of light downrange. The momentary switch on this PL-MINI 2 is identical to the one on the TLR1, which I find to be rather nice. Because the PL-MINI 2 has more lumens and I've never been a fan of the TLR-7's push-on/push-off switch, I'm replacing it. I adore the on/off switch on the PL-MINI 2, and it suits me perfectly. It also has a nice candela down range throw. The slide rail, which allows it to fit any other rifle I own, is another benefit (on a side note, this and the TLR-7 are the only two quality lights that fit the Taurus Millennium G2 and the PL-MINI 2 fits it better).It only has 4 stars since it is brand-new out of the box and I haven't put a lot of rounds through the gun with it. Period.Why Pay More?Light: The configurable features and settings are a plus. The low/high setting is my favorite. On high, this light is really bright. For indoor use and for training, the low setting is ideal.Tape Switch: I prefer the momentary tape and continual on button options personally. Definitely a win there.Mount for a picatinny light: The mount is only fair. Place it where you need it, tighten the twist, and then set it aside. Choose the Arisaka brand picatinny Gear Sector Offset Scout Mount for a better mount option. They also produce KeyMod and M-Lok mounts, all of which cost around $50.Streamlight is aware that their tape switch is a fake. For light duty and range use, the two rubber picatinny switch mounts and zip tie system are acceptable, but for serious life and liberty use, don't put your life in jeopardy. This WHITE LED headlamp cost retail price, which I paid. I needed a light that was more powerful and had a longer battery life than a clip-on light for a ball cap. They work OK for weekend excursions, but taking a motorcycle across several states for a tour need a brighter light for those inescapable late-night camping arrivals and tent setups. This lamp is ideal in that regard because you may change the intensity of each of its one, two, or three lights individually.One click of the on/off button turns it off without cycling through the three modes, which is a convenient function. The on/off switch can be held down to adjust the light intensity, according to the box advertising. While this is true, it is only programmed to function when all three LEDs are bright and the light is on. Holding down the button causes a moderate rate of light dimmer. Following a brief flash, the light will begin to intensify once more until it reaches its maximum level before repeating. It will alternately flash briefly at its brightest and lowest intensity. Wherever the brightness is between high and low flashes, let go of your finger. It will only function in those two FULL brightness options if you have only two lights on or just one light on. Therefore, it looks like a squandered function to employ 3 dimmable LEDs instead of only 1 fully bright LED. Why not simply have one LED with a dimmer so you can use it as a reading light or to organize your blankets while your partner is sleeping, or as a nightlight inside the tent for those late-night trips to the bathroom? maybe a RED LED? Similar to or even brighter than the fixed full brightness single LED is the output of the three low intensity LEDs. These 150 lumen LEDs are used. It is more than bright enough to set up a camp in the dark and is not bad for a headlight.The forward tilt, which is also a way to access the battery casing, is another characteristic. To tilt the lamp, pull it down with a firm grip. When I had to tilt it to install the batteries, I feared I had broken it when I heard a loud SNAP (3 AAA cells). During tilt adjustment, pushing it back gave the impression that it was well-made and lubricated. The plastic tilting adjustment cogs' alignment and tilting, in my opinion, are the cause. How much use they will need to endure until they wear out or move smoothly (as in retraction) is unknown at this time. In order to tilt the device down, you must actually grip the headlamp body firmly in one hand and pull strongly with the other. With just one finger push, the unit can be retracted to its upright position. Get the picture? Although there is no tension bolt for the tilting, I am certain that natural head motions will prevent the lamp from moving out of alignment. The red elastic soft stretch strap is 1" wide, adjustable, and very comfortable to wear against your head. It is also washable and detachable. Tested to ANSI/FL1 standards for water resistance, 1 meter drop resistance, and 8 hours of 40 meter shine. (On low, for 50 hours) Note: Although the huge, rubber-coated on-off button is widely accessible and slightly recessed on the top, turning it on only requires a small amount of pressure (preferably not when riding down Route 66, don't ask). 3 year limited warranty. This light is lovely. I used it for a hog hunt in Texas. The remote switch was excellent. I've only fired three 308 rounds while wearing it, but everything is going well. I used the high ring that was provided along with a pic rail clamped to a 4-20x50.Even though the pigs were aware of the light, they weren't alarmed if I left it on. They disliked fleeting sparks. At 70 yards, I could see clearly (the edge of the woods). The non-illuminated reticle contrasted sharply with the surrounding greenery (trees, ground, and/or pigs). For this one, you don't need an illuminated reticle.After zooming it out, I did cover the light's barrel with a layer of electrical tape. Without it, the lens part jiggles slightly.

I didn't purchase this lantern from Amazon, but I do own three of these that I acquired at Lowe's at various periods when they were on sale for about $1 more than the Amazon cost.This is THE light for hurricane country down here on the Gulf coast, in my opinion. Since they appear to be in regular supply at all the hardware stores, I assume they also sell well.They are extremely secure and run on four D-size batteries. Use a dime or a small screwdriver to turn the unlock type fixed in screws to the unlock position to gain access to the battery compartment.If you're outside at night and carrying the lantern, a metal mirror that is hidden behind the two main, extremely brilliant LED columns does a great job of projecting the light forward. The light "tubes" can also be swung upward, at which point light will emerge from both sides.This lamp is an exact replica of a fluorescent-style lantern that was offered before to LEDs. When the LED lantern was released, I gave the fluorescent one to a neighbor and we compared the output. I had the fluorescent lantern that my dad had given me as a Christmas present, but I had never opened it for some reason. The 4 D batteries will, of course, allow the LEDs to run longer while appearing to be just as bright or even slightly brighter.I believe the small amber night light lasts for more than a week, and it works great in motels as a nightlight to guide you to the restroom. On October 23, 2018, I had my first chance to use this light. I was excited to give this weapon a try after getting a solid hit with a Spitfire broadhead on a doe. I do a lot of twilight hunting, and after reading the favorable reviews, I figured that it was worthwhile to spend the $50 I paid for it if it helped me find just one deer. It does precisely what it says, I'll say that much. The light that this item releases is mysteriously absorbed by all hues that fall within the "red/orange" region of the color spectrum. As a result, it does make these particular hues pop out more than they would under normal lighting. That evening, I used it side by side with a regular LED light and was really pleased with how well it performed. The lower of the two brightness levels, which it has, is actually preferable in my opinion. Even if the light is a little heavy, I think it's worth carrying for those nighttime hunts. With that considered, I did see that some backdrops allowed the blood to stand out more than others. Also, I doubt I'd allow this light serve as a complete replacement for your conventional light in everyday situations. I can't testify to its longevity or battery efficiency either because I've only used it once for around 30 minutes. I'll say that going forward, it will be a tool I use for my nightly deer hunts.
