Best In-Refrigerator Water Filters in 2020

Waterspecialist DA29-00020B Water Filter, Replacement for Samsung HAF-CIN, HAF-CIN/EXP, DA29-00020A, DA97-08006A, Kenmore 46-9101, RF28HFEDBSR, NSF 53&42 Certified, Pack of 3(package may vary) Review:

I've been using these for several years. I have an in-line Culligan filter that feeds the Samsung refrigerator and due to the low cost of these filters I can change them both at the same time at less cost than just a factory Samsung filter frig filter change. I replace the in-line filter first with the both ice makers turned off. That way any carbon particles that have shaken loose in the replacement Culligan filter will be caught by the old Water Specialist filter when I run the first gallon through the refrigerator's water dispenser before changing the Water Specialist Filter in the frig. Then I change the frig filter with a new Water Specialist filter and run another gallon through the dispenser. Then turn the ice makers back on. I've never had one of these leak or cause an odor of flavor in the water. So at the same or less cost than a single Samsung filter I am getting double-filtered water and only have to change them once a year!

Frigidaire EPTWFU01 Water Filtration Filter, White Review:

This product works just fine. I have to order it about once every six months or so for our Frigidaire French door refrigerator. My only complaint is the high price of this item. Amazon used to offer an off-brand alternative, but it disappeared after I ordered it the first time. I wish I had stocked up when I had the chance. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this product other than the fact that our fridge makes us slaves to having to spend about $100 a year in water filters.

EveryDrop by Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filter 2 (Pack of 1 - Packaging may vary) Review:

Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. It says on the label (in very small print) that you must FLUSH the filter with FOUR GALLONS OF WATER before use.

The first gallon I flushed through was AWFUL. The water was gray and had lots of stuff floating in it. After the fourth gallon, it was running clean and clear, and the water tastes great.

EveryDrop by Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filter 4 (Pack of 1, Packaging may vary) Review:

This filter is an upgrade to the recommended filter for our 2012 side by side KitchenAid refrigerator.

The old filter never removed the strong chlorine smell we have with our public water supply; this one did-that's one reason why I gave it 5 stars.

I added a picture of the old filter that this one replaced.

Although the filter may seem expensive, I find the Amazon price is better than other retailers who sell this filter. You can always buy several of them at once and save even more money.

Plus, it’s a quality water filter and I feel that’s worth some peace of mind.

Check out my video showing the install process.

If my review was useful, please consider giving it a thumbs up.

Thank you.

Samsung Da29-00020b-1P DA29-00020b Refrigerator Water Filter 1 Pack (Packaging may vary) Review:

For those complaining about the price and short time between filter changes, I too had the same concerns until research turned up this info from Samsung. The filter replacement isn't required unless you notice a decrease in water flow or ice production. I have followed this guide and now change my filter about every 15-18 months with no changes in water taste or ice clarity. Talk about saving a mint, I used to change it religiously at 6 months.

Hope this helps and no you do not need to turn off the water supply to change the filter, just a towel to wipe up the approx. 2-3 tbls. of water that comes out from removing the old filter, but that happens whether you turn off the supply or not.

Frigidaire WF3CB Puresource Replacement Filter, 1-Pack Review:

Recently purchased, i don't know how long this unit will last but I thought I could clear up some confusion on these. Unit has to be purged after installing otherwise you will get this very nasty taste for gallons and gallons of water. I ran about a half gallon of water through the dispenser, pulled the filter, and shook all the water out in the sink. Repeated two more times, except dispensed about a quart out before pulling. Bad taste gone.
I found this out by googling service websites, where i found that Frigidaire makes a bypass valve for these filters. So if you don't really need the filter, just want the water flow, contact Frigidare @ 706-860-4110 and order part # 242294502. $34, free ship. You won't find that part number on their website btw, or that telephone number. Took a bit of searching and listening to mood music for hours while i was on hold ...but worth the wait. ; )

GE RPWFE Refrigerator Water Filter Review:

I've read reviews where people have said they cut electronic chips from one filter and replaced them on their current filter to "fool" their appliance into thinking a new filter was installed. I read another review that says your refrigerator will no allow water to flow or to make ice once the filter counts down to zero days remaining. In my case, neither of these claims are true.

I ordered this direct replacement filter for my GE refrigerator (Aug 2018) which we've owned for just over 6 months. Apparently, the appliance counts down the number of days and provides a warning that the filter is coming due for replacement. A nice reminder feature, but it doesn't take your source of water into account...i.e. are you on a well, city water, or if you already have a reverse osmosis filtration system in place. In my case, I have the water to the appliance coming from a reverse osmosis system. The water flowing through the filter in the appliance is already "pharmaceutical-grade" filtered water. I dare say that my filter does NOT need to be replaced every 6 months...if ever! We are now seeing the warning from our refrigerator saying we're 14 days overdue for changing out the filter...and the water continues to flow and it produces ice. I'll be ignoring the warning on my refrigerator from now on.

General Electric MWF Refrigerator Water Filter Review:

Six months ago I ordered one sold by Amazon and it worked great with my fridge.
A week ago I ordered another one and did not notice that is not sold by Amazon. At first I thought there is no big deal, it was prime eligible so it arrived on time.

I received the package and I noticed something is not right when I tried to replace it. The two filters do not look the same.
So I immediately went to Home Depot to buy another one to see which of them is bootleg.

I have three photos here:
Photo 1 - the boxes:
Left - from Appliance Cove, Right - from Home Depot.
Left one is a bit smaller. An extra label is there hiding the original barcode. The barcode on top does not match anything from Google search.
Right one is a bit bigger. Search the barcode on Google will return you it is GE MWF water filter.

Photo 2 - the filter:
From left to right: from Amazon, from Appliance Cove, from Home Depot.
You can notice that the print of the center one is worse than the others.

Photo 3 - the filter again:
From left to right: from Amazon, from Appliance Cove, from Home Depot.
Again the center one does not look same as the others. The align arrow does not align and it is shorter than the others.

Clearly the one from Appliance Cove is a bootleg product.

EveryDrop by Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filter 1 (Pack of 1) (Packaging may vary) - 10383251 Review:

Everydrop filter 1 is a fair product, but I think it is quite expensive as a refrigerator filter. I have a big household, a family of five with two dogs, our daily water need is quite high. The water flow with filter 1 is time-consuming to fill a cup of water, especially when everybody gets home around the same time and all want some ice water. Therefore, I recommend any household over four to purchase a water filter system rather than rely on the filtered water through the refrigerator. We recently switched to an under sink Waterdrop reverse osmosis water filtration system. Though it is pricy to purchase in the first place, the system definitely satisfied our water need and the replacement filters are also affordable considering the filter life and replace frequency. The system is also quite stylish and only takes very little space. I use the filtered water to make coffee and fresh OJs for my family in the morning and they all love it. I think the major reason is that the system reduces a great percentage of TDS in the original water, which the water after filtration is not that “hard.”I used to find those ugly white scale deposits pile up on my kettle, but I do not have to deal with it anymore with the help of this RO system.

Frigidaire FBA_ULTRAWF Filter, 11.7 x 2.4 x 3.9 inches, White Review:

The first filter I ordered was faulty my water wouldn't run off the fridge. I had to call a technician out to check out my fridge and they told me its the filter. I returned it and received a new filter right away, problem solved. The price is great I saved lots of money ordering from here. Its works great and water tastes awesome.
