Because there are conflicting reviews for this Siphon Pro XL Siphoning equipment, I'm going to give a thorough, in-depth analysis of it.The product includes, among other things, a clip to protect your line from flapping around, a thick transparent hose, a handpump prime bulb, and a hose clamp to clamp/crimp the hose to prevent air from getting in it, which essentially stops the flow of whatever you are siphoning.I've read reports that the hand pump bulb wasn't functional. It didn't work for us first when we tried to siphon gas into our boat either. I said to my husband, "You know the bulb has an arrow stating which direction to place it into the hose right?" because I'm a lady who reads the instructions on everything. He did it gently, and then it worked. The lamp functioned!Now that the lamp is on, siphoning takes far too long. Therefore, be sure to attach the crimping clamp to the pipe before using the bulb to prime the line. Get the hose ready, clamp, take out the bulb, and then let go of the clamp to let the fluid flow.Without using the priming bulb, using the jigger will be the most straightforward method of using this device.Fix your hose to the object that has to be filled (you can use the securing clamp if need be,) Jig the opposite end of the hose quickly in and out until the entire length of the hose is filled with fluid and the fluid starts to flow.This siphons quickly! Ordered TERAPUMP [with AutoStop] on 2/10/18; received in Vancouver, WA, on 2/13/18. Install batteries. Place an old bar stool on a 5-gallon gas container. pump was put into the container. inserted nozzle into petrol tank of motorcycle. switched it to the "on" position. Gas began to flow practically silently right away and continued for nearly two minutes, filling the tank to four gallons. Gas flow may be seen thanks to clear tubing. Pump and nozzle were taken out, cleaned, and dried with paper towels. Quick, easy, and spill-free Perfect for my needs, including filling up my mower and motorcycle. I purchased this pump to regularly drain the kiddie pool for my dog so it doesn't turn into a mosquito breeding area. Since there is a downspout drain directly next to his pool, I can leave the pump's "output" end there and it still functions perfectly. The siphoning effect is significant, but I did slip on about two feet of vinyl tubing from the hardware store to the "exhaust" side so it is comfortably below where the water enters in. If the drain entrance were at ground level, the additional tubing might not be required.When I need to drain the pool, I prime the pump with the squeeze portion. After it starts, I just let it run for a short while, and when I come back, the pool is empty. If worse comes to worst, I might have to move a leaf and let it go. Before I discovered this, I had to empty the pool far from a drain or use a bucket to dump out some water before dragging it across the sidewalk. No fun.This pump was purchased from a hardware store a few years back, and when it finally failed (it lasted longer than I anticipated considering it was exposed to the sun all summer), I got a replacement from Amazon. I had previously tried a couple of other handpumps, including one with a bulb that wasn't very effective and one that was meant to start siphoning when shaken but also wasn't very effective. I'm so happy I found this, and when the weather permits in a few years, I'll surely buy it again. I've used it at least a hundred times, if not more.The first time the pump needs to be primed, possibly because I have extension tubing, requires a little work, but after that, it only needs a few squeezes to get it working. For what it's worth, I never make use of the top knob. I believe it remains in the "on" position, but I don't sure if it's helpful to drain substances like gasoline that you don't want to leave undrained.

Once a year, we utilize pumps to winterize our travel trailer. This one works well and is reasonably priced. The line that enters the trailer is of high quality and threads on securely, while the hose that enters the antifreeze bottle is substantial and thick. By bypassing the hot water tank, shutting off and removing the sacrificial anode, opening the faucets nearest to the water supply, and pumping until the tap runs pink, we may start winterizing with antifreeze. After closing the faucet, we open the following sink or toilet, and so on throughout the entire camper. then take a full bottle and pour a good amount into the shower/bath, all sinks, and toilet tank. Simple, quick, and less expensive than hiring a pro.

Those who transfer fuel from gas cans that comply with CARB are the target audience for this review. You are a disgruntled bunch trying to get the CARB nozzles to open and allow the fill to take place while juggling 40 lb, 5-gallon gas cans. Although these new nozzles are designed to lower hydrocarbon emissions, the reverse happens. Because they are so difficult to use, the CARB nozzles actually cause more gasoline spills than the previous method. These inexpensive plastic nozzles bend and leak because they were not designed to handle a side load of 40 lb. Frustration is increased by the painfully slow flow rate.I frequently questioned why such an idiotic product was still on the market. The CARB compliant nozzles are worse for the environment than the standard nozzles, so tree huggers who believed they had won are screwed.Aha, the Safety Siphon comes to the rescue! Simply set a 5-gallon petrol can on a 3-foot-tall stepladder to pour it into a car. Make sure the PVC hose is inserted deeply enough into the gas filler pipe so that its exit is below the gas can's liquid level. Launch yourself into action by opening the gas container and inserting the Safety Siphon's action end. Just see it operate once flow has been established. The flow slows down at some point during the transfer. Simply take up the can, which is considerably lighter, and increase the elevation difference to finish the transfer. Finally, tilting the tank enables almost full emptying. Lift the Safety Siphon's action end when the flow stops, then pour the gasoline that is still in the PVC tube into the car.Such a straightforward tool avoids frustration and saves so much time.

I don't know why I purchased this item, and up until the time that I had to service the transmission on my 1999 Silverado 5.3 4WD, I had never utilized it. I was in a bind because the old truck I bought had 20k miles left on it and I didn't really have the money to do the task in the first place. All of these first-generation Chevrolets had transmission drain plugs that, when removed, frequently shred the bolt head due to poor design. I had no choice but to perform a couple partial fluid flushes until I could do it correctly or hire a shop to do it because I didn't have enough money to drop the pan and replace the filter and gasket. So! I put this pump to use by running the hose down the 4L60E transmission's fill tube and pumping the contents of the pan into one of two matching containers. Then, using this pump to restore exactly what I took from the second, identical container that I had filled with brand-new trans fluid at the same level of capacity, I measured the contents of what I had withdrawn. After doing this once, I drove the truck for a day before flushing it once again. I repeated this three times, and in the interim it really improved shifting, reaction, durability, and gas mileage. So that's my update on this matter.

Fantastic, but with a tip. I noticed that many people gave this pump a lower rating since the red hoses and the compact container emerged curled and bent. As others have noted, these would be difficult to use immediately out of the box as a result. In preparation for this, I poured a bucket with extremely hot water and submerged the hoses in it to heat them up as well. I then removed them from the water and continued to tug and stretch them while they were still flexible in order to iron out any kinks. I repeatedly used this "heat and pull" technique before hanging the pieces vertically to dry overnight and let gravity straighten them. Again, the pump performed admirably, and they turned out perfectly. I originally used it to get rid of a few gallons of used gas from a Harley tank, and it worked great. One of the best $10–$11 investments I've made recently.One more piece of advice: keep the Amazon box the pump came in and store it there with the pump and hoses so the hoses are more at ease. The hoses should not be kept in their original packaging because doing so will cause them to coil and kink once more.

I don't have a lot to say about this because it's so straightforward. It appears to be rather well manufactured; the rubber used for the pump and hose is fairly thick, and the fittings appear to be airtight. It also functions. Overall, the quality is excellent.
