Durability is thought to be slightly less than other types when utilised for heavy use, such as in the vehicle maintenance industry. (But not horrible at all!) ..... However, if you use it yourself at home, the cost is quite reasonable and the product is excellent! ..... Personally, I'm quite happy! ..... It is possible to add a " Washer Mod " to it to raise the backing plate a little bit and prevent contact with the machine's " Rubber Shroud " when I press the machine while it is operating.

I am inspired to launch a headlight restoration company after using this product. I tried one of those headlamp kits that you saw on television before, and I didn't like the results. However, there's more.I carefully followed the provided instructions, and when I saw the results, I remarked, "Okay, this looks quite good." But I wasn't content. I then placed the drill away and utilized only the hand-held disks that came with them. With a little soap water and a thousand, I began.Back and forth in one way until the headlamp seemed evenly scratched. In order to get the new haze in the new direction, I switched to 2500 and sanded perpendicularly. The longest part of the process lasted five minutes per side.I finished by making the finest disk perpendicular once more. All that this kit does is that. A plastic polish and top coat are now required. I applied UV sealant in an aerosol can and plastic X.

My second 21mm polisher is this one. As a backup for my Torq 22D, I bought it. So, this polisher is excellent. Although it is shorter than the 22d, its trigger and variable speed dial are perfect. The 1000 watt motor gives the pad a lot of power and output. It has an average vibration and a quality feel to it. I don't yet notice any problems with it. The supplied plate did, however, strike the shroud, so I swapped it out for a 22d 6 inch plate, and it now spins freely. Without a doubt, I'd advise it. Now that I have my 22d, which has a 5 inch screen, and my M21 Pro, which has a 6 inch screen, I guess I'll pick up a 12mm. Two months later, perfection, is all I have to say! The 21mm performs admirably on all counts. performs better than the torque 22d, making the $210 investment worthwhile.

I detest banging the same old drum. The stupid bolts supplied are NOT proper, but fortunately I had some in my Boat Marine hardware box, so it would be REALLY wonderful to have someone do some kind of basic quality inspection. The supplied bolts had the incorrect thread, which was completely different from the embedded nuts in the backing plate.Having said that, the device itself is just what the doctor ordered—a great fit that supported my kayak's rod holders.On my three boats, I have 16 Scotty Rod Holders and two crab pulley systems, and I've never had any problems before.I suppose experiencing a "little pain and suffering" is just a necessary part of utilizing this Scotty product. I hope there are no problems with the "Fender Holders" I recently got.

Prior to reading the evaluations, I made the purchase and then regretted it because the backer plate attachment threaded section was missing. But what I got was flawless right out of the box and didn't need any extra parts to attach to the polisher.The black nipple seen on the backer plate is a protective cover over the threads, even if the photo does not show them. It just pops off. This is a thoughtful addition that will prevent the threads from being harmed during handling or delivery. Two washers are included, which is a lovely touch. Don't discard these washers! When attaching the pad to the polisher, use these washers as spacers to create more room for the tightening wrench to fit in between the pad and the polisher.This backer pad also has a few more characteristics that make it an excellent backer, including:1) The stiff plate on the polisher side is smaller all the way around than the polisher's included pad. As a result, the plate's edges can be a little bit more flexible for working with curved spaces.2) Compared to the OEM backer plate, the body of the pad is made of a more flexible substance. Better for working with curves once more.I'm not sure why the OP had a problem; possibly they received a faulty item or a different type that needs an adaptor. In order to purchase any backer pad in the future, I picked up an adapter I purchased on eBay for $3 plus $3 delivery.In conclusion, good bargain and ready-to-use backer plate. You can use a 6 inch pad on a 5 backing plate, but it will not fit as snugly as it would on a 6 inch backing plate. This could potentially cause the pad to spin on the backing plate, which would create a risk of damaging the paint on your vehicle.
A buffer can be used for polishing, but it is not the only tool that can be used. Buffing pads and polishing compounds are also necessary to achieve a high-gloss finish.
Backing plates generally have multiple holes stamped in them in order to allow the installer to choose the best location for the plate and also to allow for different size fasteners to be used. Yes, buffing does remove scratches. The process of buffing creates friction which heats up the surface of the material being buffed. This heat breaks down the bonds between the molecules of the material, essentially melting them. As the material cools, the molecules reform and the surface becomes smooth again.
A backing plate should be at least 3/16" thick, but no thicker than 1/4". If it's too thin, it won't provide enough support and may bend; if it's too thick, it will be difficult to work with.
