While half and half can technically be used to make cream, it is not the best option. Half and half is a mixture of milk and cream that is typically used in coffee. It has a lower fat content than cream, which means it will not produce the same results. For the best results, use heavy cream or whipping cream.
If you're out of half and half and need it for a recipe, you can substitute milk. The milk won't be as creamy as the half and half, but it will work in a pinch.
Yes, you can substitute heavy whipping cream for half-and-half, but the results may not be what you expect. Heavy whipping cream is much higher in fat than half-and-half, so it will be richer and thicker. It may also split when you try to whip it, so it's not the best choice for whipped cream.
Yes, you can water down half and half to make milk. Just be sure to use a ratio of 1:1, meaning for every one part of half and half, add one part of water.

I have a tea "bar" and G7 3-in-1 Instant Premium Vietnamese Coffee, 100 Servings/Sachets 3-in-1 instant coffee packets next to my bed. Along with various tea and coffee accessories, I have a Sunbeam Hot Shot water heater (Sunbeam 6170 Hot Shot Hot Water Dispenser, White) next to my bed. I can lean back and enjoy a hot beverage without asking my spouse every time I want some tea or coffee because I can make it myself. I have severe RA and sometimes it's too difficult to get out of bed. These Mini Moos did not let me down. They taste fresh and arrived in one piece (at least the one package I opened; I have three). I'll store the extras in the refrigerator until I need them. I tried it today in my masala chai tea and it made it delightfully thick and milky. I had an empty Pringles-like plastic container that I filled with the micro moos. One container made the 3-in-1 coffee considerably richer and less sweet when I tried it. I didn't even need to stir it in; I could just pour it and enjoy the pretty clouds while I sipped my coffee and felt like a real barista. Haha!I would place another purchase. I can leisurely enjoy a little cream in my tea without wasting any because I can never finish a container of cream or half-and-half before it spoils. "Land O Lakes" placed the order. No carbs; 10 calories, 10 of which are from fat.(Kitties are still unaware of the new item I have.)

After repeatedly acquiring fat-free half and half, I have since learned from my wife to always purchase the full-fat variety. In my neighbourhood, this specific product is the least expensive non-fat free half

I made the mistake of purchasing T-Disk creamers for my coffee maker. What a money waste! When the waitress brought out the customary half and half cuplets, I had a lightbulb moment in my diner. These, I thought to myself, presumably come in bulk online. They do! They work great and are much more affordable than other creaming options.

I enjoy using creamer in my coffee, but if genuine cream is available, I will always choose that. Since no one buys me coffee at my little office job, having half and half that doesn't require refrigeration is a huge plus. Additionally, since the creamer is room temperature, your coffee stays at the same temperature. It is pleasant and creamy, just the way I prefer my coffee.

Land O' Lakes Fat Free Half and Half Quart, 32 oz
$234
Every morning, I must have my coffee, and I will only brew it with half and half. We're choosing the fat-free variety because we're attempting to lose weight. I've tried a lot of different types of fat-free half and half, and they all virtually taste like skim milk when you add them to coffee. It never has the appropriate colour and tastes awful. I can hardly detect the difference between fat-free and full-fat versions of half-and-half, and I don't miss the fat at all when I use Land O'Lakes.

These are really neat. Before leaving for work each morning, I throw a few in my lunchbox. Instead of the powdered non-dairy garbage that every company seems to sell, I then receive half/half.I'm a bit over halfway through the box and haven't run across any issues yet. It hasn't deteriorated or leaked yet. For work, I used to purchase half-and-half in a bottle and fill a tiny Tupperware every day, but I had to wash them every day before using them the next. These are fantastic; two go in my lunchbox and are thrown out when I have my morning coffee.*Update* Unless you plan to use a lot of them soon, buy these in lesser quantities. Before I could use them, half of the box had gone rancid (about a month). After a while, they began to taste sour and were being poured in chunks. This is wonderful if you use a lot in a short period of time, but if one person uses them for a month, they won't last.

Many people enjoy half and half in their coffee because it is a creamier alternative to milk. However, half and half is actually quite unhealthy. A single tablespoon of half and half contains 37 calories and 3 grams of fat, all of which are saturated. Half and half also contains cholesterol and sodium.
Whole milk is generally healthier than half-and-half, but it depends on your individual dietary needs. Whole milk contains more saturated fat than half-and-half, but it also contains more vitamins and minerals. If you are trying to lose weight, you may want to choose half-and-half over whole milk. However, if you are looking to increase your intake of calcium and other nutrients, whole milk is the better choice.
Yes, light whipping cream is the same as half-and-half. Both are made from milk and cream, and both have the same fat content.
There are five main types of cream: heavy cream, light cream, whipping cream, sour cream, and crème fraîche. Heavy cream, also known as heavy whipping cream, is the thickest and most stable of the five cream types. It has a fat content of 36-40%, which makes it ideal for whipping and using in rich, creamy dishes. Light cream, also known as coffee cream or table cream, has a fat content of 18-30%. It is thinner than heavy cream, but still thick enough to be used in coffee or poured
There are several substitutes for half-and-half cream, depending on what you need it for. If you need it for baking, you can use milk or a combination of milk and butter. If you need it for cooking, you can use evaporated milk, heavy cream, or a combination of milk and cream cheese.
If you've never had half-and-half, it's a blend of milk and cream that's used in coffee and baking. It's not as thick as heavy cream, but it's richer than milk. Half-and-half has a subtle sweetness and a smooth, velvety texture.
