I bought this item in an effort to replicate the amazing smoked salmon I had in Toronto while on vacation. The vendor was accommodating, understanding, and assured me the product would be safe for eating even though it arrived late and the dry ice was melted/lukewarm (due to a local shipping company's warehousing issues, not the vendor). This is the best lox I've had in years! It was carefully and thoughtfully packaged, arrived to me in fine condition, and is wonderful. Nobody who is familiar with lox won't be let down. This is the authentic food from my youth, a far cry from the insipid, store-bought garbage that is currently offered in my area. Like my grandfather would say, "Boy? The best products are always the best investments." Well, this is clearly the greatest. Please excuse me right away. It has a lengthy shelf life. Since a lot of fish in cans contains an excessive amount of salt, I opt for the low sodium variety. Delicious! wonderful for salads! When I brought it to work for morning, I was anticipating Lox, but what I got was a tiny piece of precooked, smoked salmon. My two companions thought it tasted great and really enjoyed it, but, to be honest, the quantity was a little excessive.One of the two containers I received is still unopened in my refrigerator.Fancy Will make a fantastic salad today.To sum up: wonderful smoked salmon, NOT lox, excellent for salads, a little pricey for me.
