Pure Prague Powder #2 [aka Insta Cure #2, DQ Pink Curing Salt, Sel Rose] ⊘ Non-GMO ❤ Gluten-Free ✡ OU Kosher Certified - 400g/14oz Review:

After viewing a "America's Test Kitchen" episode where they demonstrated how to make your own corned beef, we decided to order the "pink salt." We had to order pink salt because that was the only component we couldn't obtain locally. We had our own home-brined corned meat when it immediately came. It was fantastic! The corned beef we made came out precisely how the show said it would. I'm grateful.

Spice Island Beau Monde Seasoning, 3.5 oz Review:

I "Primed" this because I discovered an ancient recipe from a book on wild rice and game meat that required it.Interestingly, I discovered a story throughout my search that said Ernest Hemingway used it to fry hamburgers. I see why meats are utilised with this flavour.I had just prepared steaks when I received it, so I HAD to test it. My husband and I experienced nostalgic flashbacks, but we were unable to identify what it was. It seems familiar; perhaps restaurants frequently use this?In any case, don't be hesitant to season nearly everything with this! DEEEELICIOUS.

Anthony's Pink Curing Salt No.2, 2lbs, Slow Cure Prague Powder Review:

Before I go any further, I want to stress the importance of carefully following all treatment instructions. This "pink salt" isn't simply salt, either. It is a "cure" that delays decomposition and renders processed goods safe to eat. Typically, these are meat products. As an illustration, bacon is frequently "cured" before being smoked. Usually, ham is cured. You can cure sausages. You can also treat poultry like chicken and turkey. The goal is to maintain safe levels of germs while the meat is processed, smoked, stored, etc. Both "dry" and "wet" "cures" exist. There are numerous variants of formulas.Soooooo...Ask someone who DOES KNOW what they are doing for advice if you don't. NITRITES ARE CONTAINED IN THIS PRODUCT! Incorrect use of nitrites might be harmful.Since years, I've used a variety of pink salt products. This particular item is a quality one. It appears equally and continuously granular and is packaged beautifully. I include it into my sausage dishes (mostly..). To be fair, I firmly believe that practically any brand of pink salt sold today will function admirably. This brand appeals to me since it offers fair value and consistently delivers quality products. Although there are other pink salt brands available, I prefer this one (at least for the time being!).Therefore, five stars for a great product and a great price.

Takii Umami Powder By Fifth Foods - 1.59 ounce shaker Review:

If you're getting this for the first time, I'd advise you to taste a bit of it straight from the shaker to get a sense of the flavor and the amount of salt it adds, as it adds enough salt that you might want to use a little less than you normally would (it adds 270g sodium per 1/2 tsp). Another thing to note is that the Umami Powder appears to be in parts when you first look at it, but granules would be a more accurate phrase because they seem to disintegrate rapidly. Be mindful that the granules will stay together in the shaker if left sitting for a long time, but they will separate back out with one vigorous shake because they retain their structure (the small amount of calcium carbonate probably helps with this). All things considered, this is a fantastic appliance for your kitchen.

Spice Island Savory Summer, 0.7 oz Review:

I've searched everywhere for Summer Savory. It is my go-to flavour for soups and chicken recipes. It is a common ingredient in French-Canadian cuisine and is known as ceriette (sp?) in Canada's northeast. It has long since vanished from the store shelves. I had the bright notion to check Amazon, and sure enough, there it was. Again, thank you, Amazon. I can always count on you.

Pure Prague Powder #1 [aka Insta Cure #1, DQ Pink Curing Salt, Sel Rose] ⊘ Non-GMO ❤ Gluten-Free ✡ OU Kosher Certified - 400g/14oz Review:

This pink curing salt is essential if you are curing your own meat, especially for sausages. Easy storage is made possible by the resealable bag; I kept mine in the back of my pantry (you do not want anyone mistaking this for table salt because this curing salt is highly toxic if directly ingested). This bag will cure 80 pounds of meat if you use one teaspoon of this salt for every 5 pounds of meat. This is a reasonable price for a necessary component of meat curing.
