To begin with, I just received this today and haven't yet put it in my Weber Bullet Smoker. But after initial inspection, packaging, and fiddling, I know it will be perfect for me. Just connected two probes in front of my air conditioner, and they recorded two separate temperatures with a one degree difference in temperature. Excellent construction, simple to read, and I don't see why some people find the directions difficult to follow. Ignore those comments because I worked it out without them. There are simply too many inaccurate reviews in this world, not to be arrogant!Otherwise, I previously owned a lower-end Maverick with a meat and grill temperature probe. I mainly use wireless devices to track the temperature of the smoker as a whole, but you can do the same thing with this if you have a spare probe and put it in the middle of the smoker for an accurate readout.MY ONLY GRIPE, and it's my fault because I didn't check when I ordered this one night before going to bed. It lacks low heat alarms, which would have been very necessary for midnight smoking. If your smoker's temperature dropped too low, an alarm would sound, waking you up so you could go tend to the fire for 10 minutes before going back to sleep. Although this device is not particularly intelligent, you can set the desired temperature with an alarm, and it will sound when the temperature exceeds the set temperature. So with that said, unless you have confidence in your coal tending abilities, no overnight smoking for me or you. You could just monitor your smoker with a second probe for the low end, but it would be redundant. Similarly, if you set the alarm for a temperature lower than the smoker's current temperature, it would beep or blink continuously, which is again unnecessary. I would return it if I wasn't going to use it within the next two days in order to find one with a low temperature alarm, which I'll probably acquire later anyhow.Happy grilling and smoking, everyone! If you're searching for a low temperature alarm, try elsewhere. But it's ideal in every manner for the meat temperature and the high heat alarm! Great product; I especially like the rubber/silicon sides. Use it for yard chores, parties, movies, and video games as it monitors your temperatures. Since I've only used it four times, I'm reviewing this a little early. It has so far performed flawlessly. One of these should be treated differently depending on how effectively they function, in my opinion. Although it's very delicate, mine provides immediate readouts. I've used it twice with grilled salmon and twice with grilled chicken breasts. My ancient analog Weber thermometer should be adequate, however it takes 20 to 30 seconds to cease moving. I should probably start by stating that I haven't had a chance to utilize the old app, so I can't compare it to the current one. I bought mine on Amazon for $80 in November 2017. I don't see how I may display the version number of my program. It looks that someone who doesn't enjoy cooking, grilling, or BBQing created it. I believe the app might benefit from a variety of features to better suit the needs of each user.The capability to "alter" the preset temps is something I would like to see in future developments. Another change would be to provide the presets a search function. As it stands, you must first select the "kind" of meat you're preparing before browsing the alphabetical list. The ability for the app to detect a rapid drop in temperature is one "smart" feature that I think would be excellent to include (e.g. from 245 degrees to a fast drop to 110 degrees within seconds). These are just my initial ideas; I'm sure the app may benefit from other features as well.In conclusion, I would advise you to purchase this Weber iGrill2 to add to your tools. Other probes and gadgets, in my opinion, perform the same thing for less money. Some have Bluetooth, but others don't.

Put some temperature stages in your oven and compare the results with these probes. You shouldn't have any difficulties because these thermometers can be calibrated. I can accept that both of mine are within 10 degrees fahrenheit.Now, you might need to drill a few holes to adapt these to your grills and smokers.
