I didn't have high expectations because this is a garden nozzle at a good price. It was heavier and felt more robust than the standard chain hardware shop nozzle, which I immediately noted. The rubber grip and aluminum body both felt great in the hand. Since there is frequently where these might falter, I had to put it to the test with several settings. If you've ever tried to switch the spray type with muddy or damp hands, the rubberized grip on the spray choices is crucial. All the spray varieties were perfect, but my personal favorites were the jet and mist, followed by shower, flat, and angled. Although it functioned perfectly, Soak did nothing for me. All the openings simply looked to be letting water through. I prefer to simply use an open hose.The nozzle has an easy-to-use always-on feature and a well-made intensity dial. I constructed a cutting-edge dog kennel with extensive indoor/outdoor plumbing ten years ago so that I would never have to pick up canine waste by hand. My kennel has 90 pounds of pressure flowing in from the street, and there are water hydrants all over the place. In order to transfer canine excrement from the kennel runs into the drainage troughs, I needed a hose nozzle that could flow a lot of water at least 16 feet. I must have tested at least 12 different fireman style hose nozzle brands and models over the years. I had been using the Underhill NG450 for the previous four years since it could flow a lot of water a long way, but if it was used frequently, the nozzles only appeared to last between three and four months. The rubber assembly would reposition itself on the shaft, and the ability to twist it to turn it on and off would no longer work. In order for it to function, I would need to reposition it using channel locks and a hammer. Without a doubt, it made me nuts. These were bought for a slightly different purpose... I require a cap with a little hole drilled into it so that only air and water can escape (attached to a water softener and used for back-washing). My review of the product is of the item as it was provided; I haven't attempted drilling one for that purpose, but that's a separate issue. These are manufactured extremely well, and the soft rubber that seals them shut does a great job. I struggle to think of a better build. also a good value.
