If you're looking to increase your vehicle's range, then installing an auxiliary fuel tank is a great way to do it. While the initial cost may be high, the long-term savings will make it worth it. Not to mention, you'll never have to worry about running out of gas again!
Yes, gravity fed fuel tanks are legal in Texas. There are no specific laws or regulations regarding their use, so long as they are properly installed and maintained.
Transfer tanks are not DOT approved because they are not intended for use on public roads. Transfer tanks are designed to be used on private property, such as farms and construction sites.
Adding an extra gas tank to your car is not a difficult task, but there are a few things you need to take into consideration before doing so. First, you will need to determine if your car will be able to accommodate an extra gas tank. Second, you will need to find a gas tank that is compatible with your car. And third, you will need to install the gas tank in a safe and secure manner.

Heavy Duty 14-Gauge Steel
5 Stability Baffles and Drain Plug
Mounting Tabs to Secure to the Truck Bed
42 Gallon Capacity
Radius Curve Eliminates Weld Pressure Points
$234
Quite thick gauge steel. has a single low outlet on the end through which a rubber hose can be run directly to the filler neck if a truck fuel tank is what you're after. also had a vented filling cap. Although I paid less for this than for diamond plate, it is still excellent.

Hose Bender (Black)
$234
It is accurate to say that the hose bender's plastic is not particularly thick. People who claimed that the hose bender broke too easily most likely attempted a poor installation. You must bend the hose after attaching one end of the product before attaching the other. The hose bender should not be pushed. If attaching the other end of the hose to the hose bender is challenging, bend the hose just a bit more, but be careful not to overbend as this will put strain on the bender and could cause it to break. I installed the hose bender in under a minute. NEVER APPLY TOO MUCH PRESSURE TO THE HOSE BENDER, REMEMBER!

LC LC2 Utility Jug 5 Gallons White
$234
This jug is significantly superior to the VP or Scribner jugs thanks to the second handle. Any hose would fit this as well; however, if you're feeling crafty, you can create one for around half the price of a pre-assembled one. I purchased the VP hose to go with it since I prefer the screw on cap. And the best part is that, unlike EPA cans, they actually pour fuel if you're using them to unlawfully store it.*After a year, it appears that the o-ring in the lid has shrunk. Now, before I put the lid on, I have to make sure the o-ring is still in its groove to prevent spills. better materials are required for the ring. Nevertheless, it is still far superior to the VP or Scribner jug.

Made from high impact polyethylene.
10"x10"x22" - 5 gallon capacity.

a strong design. LC trailer rack and two were purchased. The filler hose that is provided does not match the photo; all that is included is the base and hose, which is the only reason I gave it four ratings. Had to purchase an additional hose adapter, which costs about $7.99 and has a decent internal gasoline filter. I emailed the vendor about the filler hose, but I received no response.

amazing gas jug The grandfather of my spouse commented on how cool it was. We use these for our dirt motorcycles. We determined that he needed one because he is 75 and would benefit from it. He adores it.

Some Cutting Required On The OEM Fuel Hose
All Hoses and Hardware Included
Designed To Work With A 3/8" Female Piep Thread Drain Fitting
Feed Diesel Directly Into Your Fuel Line from Your Truck Bed
For Use With Tanks Meeting Federal DOT Requirements
$234
I took my time and measured twice before cutting once, which took me about two hours to complete. The lack of a description of the purpose of the short length of large diameter hose in the instructions may use some improvement. Instead of cutting the OEM hose twice, I used it to join the aluminum tee to the steel filler neck. This made that phase of the installation easier because the OEM hose was older and considerably stiffer. I installed a solenoid valve that only opens when the ignition is on so I don't have to worry about loosing a lot of fuel if it leaks again, which so far it hasn't. However, I did experience a little leak from my factory truck tank after about a week or two, which I believe was caused by the vent. When it did leak, I believe I only lost a few cups of petrol. Being able to compare fuel prices is nice because I travel frequently.

Exceeds California air resource board (carb) and epa requirements for portable fuel containers
Two handles for easier use and handling
Durable HDPE
Holds 5 gallons of kerosene
Virtually eliminates hydrocarbon emissions
$234
Had it not been for the terrible, difficult-to-use spout, which took me ages to fill up my Kubota tractor, I would have awarded it five stars, but there is a simple remedy. Being an engineer, it came naturally to me:) - The inner spout must be pushed in with the red button until the end of it can be seen (on the end that goes into the can), at which point the inner flange must be cut off using a hacksaw, being careful not to damage the rubber seal on the larger diameter spout. The inner spout, spring, and button are then fully removed. The slightly smaller but significantly larger diameter spout is all that is left. Works flawlessly. Even better, you may drill a little hole near the handle's top to let air flow, which creates a swift stream just as at the pump! The best part of this update is that it is free for you to use.

Before making a purchase, I reviewed a number of products (some comments did make me think twice). I am happy that I did buy the fuel caddy. I was concerned about shipment issues based on certain remarks, but none materialized. FedX was in a position to discharge right onto a trailer. The caddy's parts were easy for my husband to put together, and it works as promised. The fuel hose is secured to the fuel spout by a clamp. There is no real way to stop the flow of fuel so that extra petrol doesn't collect in the fuel hose. This is not a significant concern because one can change the direction of the pump; however, it would be excellent to have a shut-off valve or mechanism. The unit's mobility makes it ideal for recharging lawn mowers or other equipment with a broader intake piece. One more extremely crucial fact: you need a funnel or some other adaption since the fuel hose nozzle's diameter is too large to go directly into a car's gas tank.
If you have a diesel transfer tank, you should not put gasoline in it. Gasoline is not compatible with diesel fuel and can damage your engine.
A transfer tank is a great way to store gasoline for your car. However, you will want to make sure that you use a fuel stabilizer in the tank so that the gasoline does not go bad.
A carburetor is a device that mixes air and fuel for an internal combustion engine. Gravity can be used to feed fuel into a carburetor, but there are some potential issues that can occur. If the fuel level in the carburetor bowl is too low, the engine may run lean and may not start. If the fuel level is too high, the engine may run rich and may experience flooding.
Can you gravity feed gasoline? The simple answer is no. You cannot gravity feed gasoline. The reason for this is that gasoline is a very light liquid, and it will not flow down a tube by gravity alone. The only way to get gasoline to flow down a tube is to use a pump.
No, you cannot put gasoline in an aluminum tank. Gasoline will react with the aluminum and cause the tank to corrode.
Diesel transfer pumps can be used to pump gasoline, but there are some things to keep in mind. Gasoline is more flammable than diesel, so it is important to be careful when handling and storing it. Gasoline also has a lower flash point than diesel, so it can more easily ignite.
