These bars and balls have a pleasant faint cedar aroma to them. They arrived in good condition, including two packs of balls, several bars, and sachets. When I first opened the gift, the aroma was almost overwhelming. It smells strongly like camphor and is by no means sweet. It fast goes away, but it still doesn't have the pleasant scent I was hoping for. But after a while in the drawer, the camphor overtones fade and the lovely scent becomes apparent. It has settled down to a sweet, somewhat spicy smell at this time (a few weeks after lining my drawers). When the drawers are opened, it is immediately noticeable, but not when they are closed. I can still clearly smell it on my t-shirt as I type this. When I first get into bed, I can smell it on my bedding, but not afterwards. It's kind of my style. It smells sweet, but not sickeningly so or cloying like the scent of fabric softener. Although I've never smelled real lavender blossoms, I know that French lavender is known for its camphor undertones, so maybe this smell is actually lavender. Whatever it is, I've come to enjoy it. People may have started putting lavender in drawers because of its overtones of camphor in the past.Although the paper sheets themselves are somewhat little, they are sufficiently weighty to lie flat in the drawer without glue. They have a nice light lavender-gray tint. Why you would want glue on them is beyond me. If you wanted to switch the paper, the glue would make a mess, attach to the wood, and ruin it, making it impossible to paint or put anything else in the drawer.Although it's a wonderful product, don't anticipate it to smell like fabric softener or lavender soap.

I wanted a drawer liner for my dresser drawers, but every other brand I tested was either too strong or smelled bad. Since these are mostly for kids, I tried them in the hopes that they would smell less "chemical." I also adore them! I wanted to use them in the linen closet as well, so I bought a second box. They are nice liners. It smells just how it should. To get rid of the strange musty wood smell in my linen drawer, I wanted a fresh perfume, but cedar chips proved ineffective. Before I had opened the box, the aroma of the liners I got from another business nearly knocked me out! They were terrible, so I gave them away! I was concerned that they would smell the same, but other reviews suggested otherwise. You do need double sided tape to keep them in place, thus I deducted one point for that reason alone. However, with time, the weight of your linens should cause them to flatten down. If the back of these had a contact paper adhesive, they would be ideal. Overall, I really like them and think they look great, therefore I would highly recommend them.

The Royal Damask/Fresh Linen is what I bought. There is no chemical adhesive in this lovely hefty paper. It has a printed side and a white side, which is just what I wanted. I trimmed the drawers to fit after measuring them; installation was simple. When something is placed in the drawer, the paper will lie flat. I don't want the excess dye chemicals from a dark print to rub off on my clothes, thus the design is light and understated. The aroma is subtle and mild. Ordering more.

Love the black and white striped pattern on these sheets! But they do smell pretty strongly; I had anticipated a more natural scent, perhaps from essential oils, but it's very perfume-like, which is why I didn't give them a full 5-star rating.Update 12/30/18: These are still holding up beautifully, and I'm actually glad that much of the perfume aroma has faded.
