Purchased one to serve as the front entryway's "coat closet" in our sizable but awkwardly configured apartment. To increase storage, we installed an additional shelf, and we equipped two of the shelves with containers for items like hats, gloves, sunglasses, sunblock, etc. Boots and shoes are stored on the bottom several shelves. The easiest shelf system I've ever assembled was this one. The instructions were a little strange, with few words and useless graphics, but I didn't need them because the part labels were obvious enough. The fact that so many people who bought this also claim to have needed a mallet to put it together is amusing to me. I didn't need anything at all, and it's all thanks to how brilliantly the shelf sections were made.The kit includes 4 short and 4 long poles that twist together with your hands and attach with a coupler bushing that screws into one end of each. Additionally, the feet simply twist in, leaving only the task of fastening them to the shelves. This is what makes the bag of these shelf support clips so ingenious. If you look very closely, you will see that once the clips are snapped together around the legs of the shelving, one end is slightly broader than the other. This is intentional. The indentation lines, which can be counted and are all in the same location, make it simple to estimate the distance on each leg. A shelf support clip is attached to the desired location by snapping it into position while orienting the narrower portion of the clip upward. You simply slide the shelf down into the clip, and the shelf is snug, once all 4 clips are in place for the first shelf (always do the bottom one first!).I positioned the frame upright with the empty poles pointing up once I had the first shelf in position and at the desired height from the ground. Then I simply fastened four additional clips at the location where I wanted my next shelf, slipped the shelf onto the clip, pressing the shelf holder down over the clip's narrowest section until it was forced to stop at the widest part. I used the same procedure for the following two shelves. Unlike plastic shelving, which bows in the middle, these shelves do not. I purchased this to house all of my painting supplies, leaving the bottom shelf just high enough to accommodate a set of gallon-sized cans beneath it.My job was simple once I understood how those clips were made. It took me a while to realize that when the clips are snapped together, one end is somewhat wider than the other because the clip design is not described anywhere in the instructions (there are no actual terms other than the names of the parts).These shelves are wonderful in their simplicity and durability. Despite being 59 years old, it only took me about 30 minutes to assemble this kit, some of which was spent trying to understand the peculiar directions. I'm awestruck. I adore them; they are the ideal height and size for my needs. With the goal of storing all of my paint gallons as well as my miter saw, which will put on the second level from the bottom, I bought a 4-Tier Shelving Unit: 250 pounds per shelf. None are needed. It probably took me less than five minutes to screw the poles together with a few wrist rotations before adding the plastic caps on top. I wish I had timed myself when I put it together. I was able to recycle the baskets since I needed more room for cosmetics and other knick-knacks and I already had them. Each mu basket is 11" x 10". Okay, so I got two of these racks to place in the closets of my camper's bedroom. I first read the directions and decided how I was going to continue. I had to construct the shelves within the closets because they were the same width as the closets. The lower shelf was first put in place on the four base legs. The 1 inch increment slots on the plastic clips allow for simple snapping. Simply attach the clip and move it up or down until it clicks into the groove. Do this for each of the four legs, then slide the shelf in place and tap a palm lightly on each corner. I continued by adding the following legs, tapping them effortlessly with a hammer, and adding the clips and shelves. When I realized that they were all within about an inch of the top of the closet, I was going to add the third pair of legs. That would prevent me from putting the rest of the shelf together. So I had to make do. I removed about 6 inches from the end of each leg using my sawsall. I then hammered the plastic cap into place over the freshly cut legs. After completing the assembly, I positioned the shelf next to the back of the closet.It took me around 20 minutes to put that together. I then went around to put the second shelf together. In order to have an accurate time for the assembly, I asked the wife what time it was. My total time for the second shelf was 12 minutes. Given that I had to cut the legs and work in a very small area, I would consider the 10 minutes specified in the description to be a generous amount of time.These shelves make me more happy than words can express. They have a good appearance and are well made. I appreciate how the shelf has a lip to prevent stuff from falling off. Perfectly, the shelves matched the closet. Why some individuals would assume the shelf would be extremely stable given its small footprint baffles me. It is a sturdy, tall, and thin shelf. It won't hold up as well as a big bookshelf.I have to admit that putting up this shelf was probably the simplest thing I have ever done. You only press the pieces together. I think my dog could put this shelf together without too much difficulty. She would take longer, I have to admit, as she doesn't have opposable thumbs. Four of these were purchased by us to use as garage storage. We purchased 2 more because we loved them so much. We particularly value the ability to adjust the level of each shelf so that we may store a range of boxes, tools, and other items of various sizes. They look fantastic and feel quite strong. The others came together quite fast once we completed the first one's assembly (which took us roughly 15 minutes). It's crucial to understand that the spherical plastic bits are just used for packaging and have no function during assembly. Although we didn't use them, the casters are extremely sturdy if someone needs a shelf with casters! We are quite happy with these shelves overall.

Amazon is wonderful, thank you! These 2' shelf lengths are no longer available, and I searched everywhere. These were ideal because of their 3' lengths and 5' wall, which I intended to add them to. I currently own six of these shelves in various lengths.Strong and durable, with a fair amount of hanging ease. With a hand saw, shortening the length is not difficult and only took me about 10 minutes. (but if you have power tools, lot quicker...)Cons: Installing the "pins" that you are intended to put in the anchors is at best challenging. In the end, I used screws. I would therefore act as the wall's anchor before screwing something in with a cordless drill. It was lot quicker and easier, and they seem much more sturdy.You'll need a level, hammer, and drill with a 1/4" bit to install the item. As said earlier, I also advise against utilizing the pins and instead suggest buying individual screws. If you need to trim something to length, you might also require a handsaw.These shelves work well in garages, utility rooms, and closets, but I wouldn't suggest utilizing them for any sort of showcase.

the most shelf space per dollar. more than most (all?) other shelves combined. Very strong. simple assembly Mine serve two purposes. If my images don't do it justice, I apologize.(Photo on the left part) To entirely eliminate the toilet tank, I first mounted one on 5" risers (tank lid is still removeable by a few inches without risers). I had to remove the 11" bottom shelf since my 8 1/4" wall-hugging thin tank required it, so I replaced it with the bottom brace (my risers prevent proper bottom bracing). This shelf DOES NOT WOBBLE AROUND, EVEN ON FREESTANDING RISERS AND WITHOUT PROPER BOTTOM BRACING! Considering that it is a light duty shelf, I can put extra weight to it.(Top right of image) In a flash, I picked up a second one for my downtown micro-extra pad's shelf. I was able to add the fourth shelf from my original one to the bottom of it because of its natural height, which allows for optimum room ventilation. Due to the improved stability of this 5-shelf version, I may even be able to add a few extra pounds.
