These are relatively inexpensive and should be useful for whatever you expect to undertake. They were my test purchase for a char cloth container. I reasoned that using aluminum may be wise because steel tins rust. They provided me with multiple batches of char cloth. If the foam gasket is left in place, it will be difficult to open after it melts. I merely loosely screwed on the lids without making any holes in the tins. This allowed a lot of smoke to clearly escape.The tin's charcoal burned a hole in it after the third or fourth barbecue. It's entirely possible that I put too much pressure on it; if I had buried it in ashes or taken care of it, things may have worked out. My technique involved hiding it between blazing coals and wood and leaving it there while cooking. The remaining aluminum containers will be used for more sensible duties, like keeping buttons.

Even on the packaging I received, it states that these are intended for candles. They may not be "food grade" and are not waterproof or airtight. Use them not for those things.Having said that, they work well for keeping little objects and are reasonably priced. There are no strange odours or outgassing, and the quality seems to be constant. It's a straightforward product that works. These served my purpose of organising small parts perfectly.

These work perfectly for me, so I'm not sure why some individuals seemed to have some issues with them. The lids stay on snugly and the magnets remain firmly fastened to the refrigerator. Each of the tins contains a fair amount of spices, so I have no concerns about any of them slipping out. Since most spice containers have this problem, it's not a major thing. My only real criticism is that it can be difficult to get the spices to pour out of the wider opening since they all get trapped in there and have problems getting past the "roadblock."I do have a few advices for you if you notice you have loose lids or tin-slide:1) Avoid placing the tins on the fridge too closely together if you are having tin-slide. They will resist one another since they have magnetic fields! This may explain why, for some individuals, the tins slide when the door is closed. The magnets are somewhat repelling one another, and the additional motion from the closing door might be sufficient to make them separate. I need to leave approximately 1/2 inch between each tin for mine to stay where I put them.2) There is a simple fix for lids that fit loosely. (Honestly, 90% of the lids in my package were looser than I preferred, but I quickly tightened them up.) Simply remove the lid from the tin and *gently* pull outward on the edges of any loose lids. Just barely enough metal will be deformed for the lid to fit properly. Avoid pulling too hard, or your circle can worsen and become an oval. Just give it a slight tug before testing the lid. Take it off and tighten it up a bit more if necessary. Even seeing the tin's form change is undesirable. It ought to continue to resemble a circle. I hope this aids people who have slack lids!**Edit**: So today I picked up some intriguing information on these tins. Evidently, the finish does not enjoy the company of ground clove! All of my other spices work just fine, however the metal finish and whatever chemicals are in the clove had a chemical reaction that looked like black corrosion. After cleaning the tin, I will check to see whether there is another response or if it is fine now that the clove has removed the finish. In either case, the tins continue to function flawlessly, but clove storage users may wish to be aware of this apparent reaction.

I really appreciate the capacity and appearance. At first, I wasn't sure about the magnets, but they appear to be holding up just fine.The milky film that covers both sides of the transparent top is the only issue. Wasn't made clear to be taken out. You require an exacto knife to remove the exterior film because the top is glued and the film's edges are tucked under the lid's border. The tins have a very visible entrance to the contents after they have been removed.The images depict the interior, outside, and what happens when the exterior film is attempted to be removed without cutting along the edge.

They are incredibly adorable and just what I wanted, but despite their wonderful claims for candles, wax pours out of the seams. Although I was able to clean them up and they are VERY adorable, if you plan to use them as candles, be warned that you might need to prepare them in advance.
