I loved opening the box, and I adore the colors and texture of the rod. I had a great time casting in my yard. The only issue I have with this rod is this one. I purchased this rod because it is essential to the health of our veterans, thus it makes me unhappy to see that it was made in China. Although I would have assumed that this product would be created in America, I did not research this before making the purchase. But even if I had known that beforehand, I still would have bought it. I recently purchased a fly fishing rod. However, while I was reeling it in, I observed that the reel "scrapes" against itself (see attached video you can hear it). occurs each time a specific position of the reel is reached. If everything else appears to function well, the rod should continue to function normally in use unless it eventually binds where it scrapes.EDIT: After submitting the website's contact form, Heidi answered within hours and offered to send me a replacement reel and cover the cost of shipping it back. Although it has been a very long time since I last engaged in fly fishing, I decided that this would be the best equipment with which to begin. So let's get started! Starting with the case's exterior, the kit includes a very well-made leather canvas carrying bag with a classy finishing touch of a leather name tag displaying the FishingSIR logo. The first thing you'll notice when you open the case is the velvety velvet sleeve protecting the four-piece rod. Each segment has its own slot to keep it safe and secure under even the most challenging circumstances. The die cast aluminum 1:1 ratio reel, a tiny fly box, and possibly some extra line will all be housed inside the main case as well. The rod boasts a remarkable degree of flex, enabling the ideal cast. One thing I'm concerned about is that the velvet carrier's quality will start to deteriorate with time. Although in my opinion this is a drawback or a negative, it has no bearing on the quality of the rod and reel's construction. The reel was tight and very challenging to strip line from when I first received the equipment. I emailed the business to inquire about any "tricks" or other ways to lighten the mood. For example, perhaps the line was wrapped excessively tightly. They sent me a brand-new reel with line in its place. A pre-paid package was given to return the original reel. This kind of customer service is what will keep me doing business with this firm. In any case. The new reel works flawlessly! The fishing gear I got yesterday is quite lightweight (Only weighs 1.30 lbs). It arrived in a very battered package. The rod and reel were in excellent condition save from that (Nothing was broken).I assembled it, threaded the string onto the rod, added a little weight, and then made many casts to test its performance. Everything performed better than expected.I'm going to test it out on the water over the next several days to see how it performs.More to come in a few days.

been fishing I had a terrific time utilizing this rod and reel set with the kids. Everything you need to fly fish is included in the kit. We had never gone fly fishing before, but after seeing a few videos, we decided to give it a try. You may learn it in an hour, but it takes a lifetime to master. The kids really wanted to utilize this rig, however we also brought out the conventional rods. The rod feels fantastic in the hand and is incredibly light and quick. The reel is also really simple to operate. It took us a few hours to give everyone a chance using this pole after we got a fly set on the line in a matter of minutes. Despite not getting any fish, we had a nice time. I like how the rod and reel can be quickly disassembled and stored and transported safely in a self-contained case. Although he was a little shaky, my kid was long casting with ease despite never having used a fly rig before, as you can see in the video. Over the course of the day, he truly mastered the technique and was able to position the fly as desired. More importantly, the children were all happy the entire day.

The 7' 10" Medium Heavy rod is the subject of this review. Two 6' 10" and one 7' 10" rod were purchased. The quality is excellent. These feel and look fantastic. Since we could use them for backpacking trips at home, I chose to bring telescopic rods to San Diego rather than a rod case. These did not let me down. I caught a lot of fish from the San Diego piers, but a 26" halibut and a huge butterfly ray stand out as my two most thrilling catches. It was easily 20 to 30 pounds. The 7' 10" rod easily supported the weight of that big ray. There is no issue with it. My purchase has made me very delighted.
