I recently purchased a fly fishing rod. However, while I was reeling it in, I observed that the reel "scrapes" against itself (see attached video you can hear it). occurs each time a specific position of the reel is reached. If everything else appears to function well, the rod should continue to function normally in use unless it eventually binds where it scrapes.EDIT: After submitting the website's contact form, Heidi answered within hours and offered to send me a replacement reel and cover the cost of shipping it back. I also purchased an OurPets flyover and cardinal, which I stitched onto the line. Max the Cat (seen above) enjoys when I sit and toss the bird across the room or down the hall. He chases it with all of his might! If he grabs it while I'm reeling it in, I wait until he relaxes before grabbing it from him and making him chase after it. This is the longest he has been awake in months, and we have been doing it for two hours. Let me now put this in context. I recently spent almost $180 on a rod and reel, but it wasn't for the cat. I've been a serious fisherman for more than 60 years, so I have some knowledge of fishing equipment. Put a wrist strap on it; I've heard this little rod sinks like a rock. However, I wouldn't mind keeping this in my truck for a quickie on crappie, gills, and small bass. However, Ole Max and I are having a hard time casting that tiny red squeaking bird at the moment because there is snow on the ground and most of the water is frozen over. I've also noticed that it hasn't tangled yet, feels wonderful in my palm, moves nicely, and is quite simple to use. Additionally, the pricing is unbeatable! I've spent more money on significantly less.

love this setup Although I hadn't fished in years, I wanted to see if I could occasionally catch dinner while walking down the James River on my way home from work. This apparatus fits into my backpack with ease. Day 2 occurred yesterday, 04/20/18. I had a bad first day, but given that the James is currently under water, I wasn't shocked. You can hardly imagine how shocked I was when, the next day, I pulled a 28-inch, 11-pound Channel Cat from the floodwaters. photos of the creature I found in my bathtub. It struggled with me for ten minutes, and because it was so large, I had to give a bystander my pole and leap into the river to pull it out by hand. Not having a net. Guess what I'm going to get today?" Both the pole and the reel worked flawlessly. Would without a doubt repurchase them. A penn fight has long been on my wish list. For a few years now, I've had a ferocious, and I truly like it. However, because it is a surf reel size, it is more or less a one-time use reel. I wanted something that could serve two purposes when I saw this.My ferocious is an 8000, and I have a daiwa that is a 3000. I was looking for something in the center, something that wouldn't be too overpowered on smaller fish like reds and specks here in central Florida but wouldn't seem underpowered against jacks, blues, sharks, Bonita, etc.I finally chose the 6000 along with the 7-foot rod. I recognize that the 6000 is kind of a misfit in the lineup, but I think it's ideal as an all-arounder. I don't worry about being underpowered on most hookups, even while kayak fishing, and the 7-foot pole is long enough for me.There's a massive reel. It resembles a 5000 in every way except for the larger spool. I run . It casts incredibly well and spooled up well with 4 mm braid on it. The battle must have resolved the prior issues with windknots. Since I haven't experienced a problem yet, it could be too soon to tell.Because the rod was damaged and lacking a guide, I ultimately had to switch the reel to a new rod. I'm not sure what occurred there. However, Amazon took care of me, so I can't really complain. Simply unable to utilize the rod. However, given the amount I paid and Amazon's prompt assistance, I can affirm that I'm not unhappy. It worked out because I had an extra GX2, and if I can find one that isn't in a bundle, I'll acquire another battle rod.In conclusion, I love the 6000. It bridges the gap between surf reel and light tackle (yep, I consider a 3000 light tackle). It performs extremely well for chunking our bigger baits as well as working larger lures. I purchased mine used (almost brand new), and the cost was comparable to some Shakespeare setups. But if you're in my scenario, even at full price, which is between $100 and $120, it's a worthwhile setup. Get a 3-4K with a 7-8 foot rod if you're looking for a beginner setup to fish the inlets and possibly some light surf and rivers. Even smallest fish will feel bigger, and who doesn't enjoy that? This will make you have more fun.crowded everywhere.

My stuff arrived in two days, undamaged. Excellent turnaround and a job well done by the vendor. The set arrived in a package. Regarding the Black Max and fishing rod set, it is a fantastic purchase. This combination will work well for the majority of us weekend warriors, whether we are experts or amateurs.The reel operates above and beyond my expectations and is smooth and light. I have much surf fishing experience and have always used spinning reels. Although I had reservations about the bird nesting that is so common with baitcasters, this is actually my first baitcasting reel. I did have issues about bird nesting so I attended Youtube University for setup and recommendations, and in reality all input was helpful. I started practicing with 8lb mono and made several casts after learning a few adjudications from YouTube. There were no mistakes, no bird nests, nothing at all! Both the reel and the rod worked perfectly. After about 50 good casts, I switched to my left arm because my right one was becoming tired. Oops, birdnest, but it was all my fault because my thumb accidentally fell off the reel. The remaining 8 lb line was thrown in the trash by me. I changed to 20 lb the next day to see how this light reel/rod would handle a heavier line because I thought the line was too light. I left for the pond. Once more, the reel and rod worked well. When everything is adjusted correctly, I don't even need to put my thumb on the reel; I can just cast and forget. Again I was exhausted so I tried using my left arm, but, darn it, my thumb slid again and I ended up in the bird's nest. I decided to train using my left arm until it was as powerful as my right. I find 20 pound line to be very heavy, so either 15 lb or 14 lb will be my next line. For 12lb mono or 30lb braind, follow the directions. We'll see whatever line weight I ultimately choose as I don't use braid. Again, the fact that adults and children, perhaps 8 years and older, can use this Abu Garcia lure makes it a gift from fishing heaven. The Abu Garcia Black Max combo doesn't break the money, which is the best part. But you must practice, practice, practice. I would absolutely buy again.
