Although I've been recreationally rollerblading for fifteen years, this was my first time purchasing bearings (mainly because my feet grew faster than I could dirty up my bearings). I placed two separate orders for bearing kits for my rollerblades over a year ago. The Stripes were just received yesterday and put on my skate wheels. I noticed right away that they had a better roll than my four-year-old, but the kwik bearings were a little rusted out. I was just rolling them as I put them on the skates. I didn't have a decent pair to compare it against, but I thought maybe they'd roll a little longer. Perhaps 3 or 4 of the 16 had less friction than the others, resulting in a roll that lasted less time than the rest but was still marginally better than the older ones.When I actually used them to skate, I could tell they were MUCH SMOOTHER than my old squeaky bearings. Since my old bearings were in such horrible shape and preventing me from moving forward, I thought I would be sliding around with new ones. However, I didn't need to get used to them at all. I chose these because I had a limited budget and didn't want to spend a lot on bearings. Again, I have nothing admirable to contrast them with, but so far, so good! I think the cost I paid for these is fair. The tool that is included with these bearings is great. Additionally, I enjoy the way these skate bearings feel and look in my hand. But you can see which ones spin significantly better than others when I spin them. With the same force given during the spin, the worst ones spin for about half as long as the best ones do. I anticipated a much higher degree of consistency between the eight bearings based on the advertisement. I give them a 4 out of 5 star rating for that reason. I believe these bearings will work just fine because they are replacing a set of 34-year-old bearings that were never maintained, sitting outside in the northern California weather for the previous 30 years, and are going to be used for my 13-year-old daughter who is learning to skate on my old board.

For a 3D printer project that I built, I purchased the bearings. I required the bearings to make a 3D filament spool holder so that the spool could glide easily. By no means would I call myself an expert on any skate bearings, however I am aware that these bearings are more louder than the ABEC 5 bearings that came with my Santa Cruz cruzer board. My old bearings spin for around 20 seconds when I spin them by hand. I am anticipating a spin time of 1 minute and 13 seconds with these new bearings, and they are also rather quiet. They "sound" rapid, if that makes sense, but allow me to say so. Compared to my ABEC 5s, they definitely produce noise, but those bearings were quite slow. I just used a razor blade to pop the shields off and put them back on.
