To test them out, I bought 10 of the two packs of Midwest sleeves. They fit my 7 1/2' rods easily and functioned great. The fabric's weave is tight enough to prevent rod eyes from poking through but loose enough to make it simple to remove a hook. Many of the sleeves I've used in the past allowed the eyes to peek through the fabric, which didn't do much to protect the rods, or were really challenging to remove a hook from. The elastic strap at the bottom that wraps around the reel handle to prevent the sleeves from falling off is something I truly like. Not many sleeves have such characteristic. The top of the Midwest sleeves has a loop where the rods can be hung for vertical storage. During the first day of a tournament, I usually rig all of the rods I anticipate using, and a couple of these rods, along with my unrigged rods with Midwest sleeves installed, are returned to my rod locker. 20 rods are typically in the boat, and 20 more are in the van. I take three rods with me when I travel, mostly bait casters. I grew weary of the rubbing together of the tangled lines and rods. These socks are fantastic, however there are a few things to think about before buying. 1) Choose the appropriate length; my rods range in length from 6'10 to 7'1, and the socks I bought are advertised as fitting up to 7'1. The elastic at the end makes a significant impact, but they cover my longer rod just below the last guide. 2) Measure your line guides; mine fit perfectly because I have tiny guides. I wouldn't buy it for rods whose bottom guides are larger than one inch in diameter. It'll fit, but it will be a problem. 3) Conduct some investigation and read some reviews.Regarding the nylon netting, I've had no trouble slipping my rods in and out. I continue to take precautions to prevent guides from getting tangled or rod tips from piercing the netting.I advise removing them from the packaging, rolling them in the opposite direction, and holding it there for 5–10 minutes before using. Then, slowly preheat the socks with a hair dryer on the lowest setting while putting a broomstick inside. This helps to flatten the side creases and decreases the curling effect.As of now, I'm a content customer. I won because I bought four when the price was reduced.

This set is excellent. For full 8" rods, they will be a little short, but they work perfectly for 7 down to 6'. Strong Sealed tip ends, well manufactured. Both spinning and casting rods have their own sets. Since they are not shaped wide enough to fit over the huge and offset guides used on spinning rods, these are for casting rods only. I considered this to be a great purchase. This will be a nice place to start if you aren't already utilizing rod socks. Due to the lack of binder straps, these could come off if you trailer rods in the open. To prevent this, knot or bind them together.

To hold the auger within the bag and the rods outside, I purchased this for ice fishing. The central cinch strap is effective in keeping the rods in place, but lower velcro holds would be good. If the large tackle compartment had two pouches and a zipper, it would be more handy. The pack does not maintain its shape as it does in the photographs because of how soft it is. For added stiffness, a thicker material would provide better support for lengthy rods.Overall, I'm satisfied with the pack and would suggest it to light or day anglers.

I received my bag today, and I was pleasantly delighted by the craftsmanship and quality. It's manufactured from a relatively thick nylon material with well-sewn seams as opposed to the extremely thin nylon fabric that I had anticipated. Despite not being as thick as an old canvas army duffel bag, a sturdy water repellent material will work just as well. The solution is to put your goods in the bag and forget about the sonotube (there is no need for additional unnecessary weight as it doesn't stand up by itself). It fits everything I need, including my Quik Shade MAX Shade Camp Chair, XUNMA Telescoping Landing Net, catfish poles, and other items. The fact that my shoulder strap was permanently attached upside down, making the padded portion useless, by some flunky (must have been the new guy or manufactured on Friday right before quitting time), is the reason I only awarded it 4 out of 5 stars. A better design would have been to sew a huge patch inside and out, top and bottom, and then sew a buckle to it to better distribute the load's weight and make the strap changeable, in my opinion, even though the strap is nicely manufactured and attached using an inside patch. Even if I can invert the strap because I'm a crafty guy, for $20 I'm still happy with my buy overall.
