I'm happy I found this company. Usually, it was really challenging to cook the channa until it was very soft when we purchased it from an Indian store. Despite the fact that I used to cook them for 10 whistles after soaking them for 24 hours.However, I used to soak them for this brand for about 10 to 12 hours before pressure cooking them for just 6 whistles. The flavor is also excellent.

I started cooking these this afternoon after soaking them overnight to create hummus and a farro-and-chickpea stew. I frequently have to boil locally purchased dried chickpeas for hours and sometimes add a sprinkle of baking soda to make them soft. However, I tasted these after less than an hour of cooking, and they are very excellent and tender! I recently got another bag since I can't wait to finish my recipes.

These beans have been parboiled, which reduces the cooking time, and the gross shell has been taken off for you. Additionally, they cooked consistently, which was an issue with other favourite beans I had ordered online from a different vendor. These cook more evenly because of their more consistent sizes. Once cooked, I like to sauté these with tomatoes, onions, cumin, parsley, and olive oil before serving them in pita pockets. Yum!

Remember that I have always detested garbanzo beans. No justification for that. When I was growing up, these were standard fare for all women' luncheons, so perhaps the association with poor taste is psychological. You are now aware of my bias.Hummus is my second bias; I adore it. After reading this review, I decided to purchase these through Prime Pantry and make my own (ahem, modified) version by forking together olive oil, Harmony House chives, McCormick bacon bits, garlic powder, and a good amount of Sabrozita Verde (without which, life has no meaning). Oh, and it needs A LOT more salt, so I poured enough Rajun Cajun to cover the dish. Yum.Keep the salad for the ladies' luncheons.:)
