Melissa & Doug Fashion Design Activity Kit (Arts & Crafts, 9 Double-Sided Rubbing Plates, 4 Pencils, Crayon, 16 Pieces, Great Gift for Girls and Boys - Best for 5, 6, 7 Year Olds and Up) Review:

My husband and I decided to reduce the amount of toys we gave as gifts this year because we feel like Christmas is drifting too far from its origins. Clothing and homemade gifts were given to the kids. However, we did get them each a few thoughtful gifts, and this was one of them for my daughter who enjoys art and stylish clothing. On Christmas, she spent the majority of the day playing with this. These drawings are incredibly cool, and I have heaps of them all around my home. She needed a few tries to get it down, but after she did, I have to admit that I enjoyed performing them alongside her. You can use the provided crayon (use it flat on its side) or a pencil (on its side) and then erase the lines on a half-sheet of standard paper. Fantastic present for a young girl!

Speedball 4196 Speedy-Carve Block Printing Carving Block – Soft, Easy Carve Surface – 9 x 11-3/4 Inches, Pink Review:

The white block that collapses too much is far worse than this one. This led to greater stamps for me, but I think it's a route you should take.In order to get the rose one for your next project, start with just one large white one and carve it extensively.I produce cards and scrapbooks with the stamps, so having the ability to create my own stamps with unique designs is extremely good (or sometimes to copy one you cannot find or need in a hurry). In order to create a matching card, I made a copy of the owl pictures in a fabric that I had previously used in a sewing project.

Speedball 4108 Speedy-Carve Block Printing Carving Block – Soft, Easy Carve Surface – 4 x 6 Inches, Pink Review:

I used to carve print blocks in the sixth grade, but I've only recently been interested in returning to stamp carving for letterboxing. I purchased this item so that I could engrave my own unique stamps.Benefits include being simple to carve, not smelling "chemical," and having a pleasant texture to work with. seems to be enduring nicely (I have only had it for a few weeks)Cons: — Although the product's edges barely slant, they do so enough to affect the stamping's clarity. To get a smooth surface to work on, I discovered that I needed to remove roughly a quarter of an inch from each side. Conclusions: I had a great time using this product. Although I haven't tested my product yet or exposed them to letterboxing conditions, the rubber feels substantial. Without a doubt, I'd suggest it and buy it again later.

Speedball Linoleum Block, 8 x 10 Inches, Smoky Tan Review:

This Speedball Mounted Linoleum was used by me for a workshop on linocuts. I was able to carve and obtain a print that I'm delighted with despite having no prior experience (for a first go). The linoleum was stiff but not impossible to carve. I transferred the image to the block using Saral blue wax-free transfer paper, and then I used a fine-point Sharpie to sketch the blue outline.Since it had a board backing, it was simple to grip, and I frequently didn't need to use a bench hook. This is not the lowest price you'll find, but Prime delivered the linoleum to me right away because I needed it right now.

Roylco Leaf Rubbing Plates Review:

I was able to get two packs for a reasonable price so that each kid may utilize one in art class. The plates are excellent and made of a sturdy plastic that won't break easily.Which side to rub on perplexed some students. I made the choice to place a sticker there and instructed the children, "You should be able to see your sticker." This rapidly fixed the issue. Older kids probably might have figured this out on their own, but Kinder and First Grade needed the assistance.A woman's mature female hand's palm is around the size of a leaf, therefore make sure to check the dimensions.

Elmer's Art Paste, Paper Mache, 2 Ounces Review:

A really good product that arrived quickly. However, I should warn art teachers that the directions are misleading. Contrary to what the instructions would have you believe, the powder takes significantly longer to dissolve. To mix the adhesive, I used a 4 liter glass bottle. About two thirds of the bottle should be filled with water before the box's contents are added. Shake ferociously for at least three to four minutes. Wait one, two, or more days until the answer is simple and not too lumpy. Then, add the remaining water and powder, and shake erratically for a further 3–4 minutes, if possible. Allow the solution to rest. It will finally become obvious after a day or two or three. My experience indicates that the directions are incorrect. Please share your best practices with me if you've had a better one. Prepare the adhesive well in advance if you want to do papier-mâché with your students. It is not a "spoiler."NEVERTHELESS! This material is much better than the normal papier-mache recipes I used to make as a child and what is currently on the market. The hassle and small (very small) additional expense are worthwhile. It doesn't rot or smell bad. It does not draw pests. It becomes transparent and eggshell-hard after drying. Finally, it is readily removed off hands and clothing with water.
