Hui Tong Fabric Pinking Shears Serrated and Scalloped Pinking Shears A Total of 6 Models (Scalloped 3mm) Review:

I have been sewing for over 40 years and have used many different kinds (and brands) of scissors during that time. I bought these Hui Tong Fabric Scalloped Pinking Shears (size 7mm) for a recent craft project. I didn't want to use plain pinking shears with the serrated blades for my project. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to find the scalloped type that I was looking for. I am VERY pleased with this product. They are excellent shears. They cut sharply and cleanly right down to the very tip. I have tried them on white cotton batting and on a piece of yellow acrylic felt with no ragged edges. (See photos) If I order the smaller 5 mm size, I will definitely order them from HUI TONG. If you are looking for scalloped pinking shears - you won't be disappointed with these and the price is very reasonable, as well.

Fiskars 8" Softgrip Pinking Scissors,Orange,9.5" long Review:

These worked well for my recent project. They are heavy/slow to use compared to normal scissors but I haven't used other pinking shears so I don't have a comparison. I wanted to make beeswax wraps using cotton fabric and I heard that pinking was important to prevent fraying. I would recommend a YouTube video on how to properly use them since they don't work the same as normal scissors. Also don't use them on paper or they will get dull and who knows how you would sharpen these.

P.LOTOR 9.3 Inches Handled Professional Stainless Steel Dressmaking Sewing Craft Scissors, Pinking Shears (Serrated-Orange) Review:

Well made scalloped shears. I have strong feelings about these shears both pro and con, so here goes -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pro's
1) Very soft rubber non-slip grip.
2) I can see the scallop on the blades at the beginning and it goes all the way out the the very end. This allows me to connect a series of scallops without a break.
3) Cuts very easily.
4) Well made. They look like they will last a lifetime.
5) Came in a nice gift box.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Con's
1) As I recall, the manufacturer claims that these scalloped shears can be used by both left-handed and right-handed people. That is not true, at least not for me. These scalloped shears are not comfortable in my left hand. (I am left-handed).
2) The scallop on the blades is not reversible so when I attempt to use my left hand, I feel a strong urge to cut out a circle clockwise. This causes the scallop to be inverted (upside down). In order to have the scallop come out correctly while using the shears in my left hand, I have to cut counter-clockwise which feels very awkward. In order for me to cut out a nice scalloped circle, I have to use my right hand and cut counter-clockwise. That will work but requires a lot of effort. I wish I could get a pair made for left-handers.
3) The size of the scallop is small, about 5 scallops per inch. I don't think there is another model with larger scallops.
4) These scalloped shears are HEAVY!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All in all, I do like these shears and would purchase them again.

JISTL Green Pinking Shears Comfort Grips Professional Dressmaking Pinking Shears Crafts Zig Zag Cut Scissors Sewing Scissors,Professional Handheld Dressmaking Review:

They cut through paper, construction paper and cardstock like they were nothing. The teeth are large enough so that the pattern is easy to lineup. The shears themselves have some weight to them and appear to be heavy duty with comfortable handles. I have just begun using them so I do not know about the long term durability yet. My only issue with them so far is that they are tight when opening / closing but that is not necessarily a bad thing. So far so good.

Allary 9-Inch Ultra Sharp Pinking Shears Review:

I almost didn't buy these after I read the one-star review, but I really needed a pair and didn't want to spend a ton of money. (I can't understand why pinking shears are so expensive!). I am really glad I gave these a try. I don't know if the other reviewer got a defective pair or if the design was changed, but these are plenty sharp and I haven't had any issues with fabric tearing. I also don't consider these lightweight - these are thick, solid and hefty enough to get the job done without my killing my hands. Other pairs I've used required a great deal of hand strength to cut, these are almost as easy to use as regular scissors. I've used them on thick upholstery-weight velvet fabric, regular cotton fabric and lightweight satin - all with equally excellent results. The only two (very) minor issues I've found: I am unable to open these fully, but for someone with larger hands or longer fingers, this may not be an issue. Also, there is no padding to the handles, so a lot of cutting can cause minor fatigue, but nothing bad. Not worth deducting a star - especially for the price. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would gladly buy these again. Great deal!
