For the do-it-yourselfer, this template and drill bit are of good quality. This template and drill bit worked extremely well when I changed 22 cabinet doors from external mount hinges to Liberty no slam hidden hinges. I drilled the holes with a corded handheld power drill. At first, it was a little difficult. I burned the wood and overheated the bit while using the drill at full speed. User mistake, not the tool, was to blame for this! When I discovered that I needed to reduce the speed of my drill, the oak was cut through in half with no smoke or wood burning. The optimum option for this kind of instrument is a drill press, but with a little perseverance and trial and error, it may also be used with a hand power drill. All 22 cabinet doors were precisely drilled and installed. I would advise anyone installing these kinds of liberty hinges to do this.

We made our own baby gate out of these to match our stair railing. These come extremely close to meeting our expectations. It's challenging to fine-tune the hinge's spring return. Our admittedly heavy gate can only be closed with one setting, but the next setting slams it shut. At this stage, we force it to close when we open it rather than letting it do it naturally so that we don't forget to do so. It would slam shut if we ever managed to forget, ensuring that we never did it again. It would have received the fifth star as well if it had been a little simpler to adjust it for the desired spring pressure. We are largely satisfied with it as is because it largely satisfies our needs. Although there is potential for development, we still think this is a solid choice for a similar need. This item's polish was also excellent, and overall, the quality of the unit seemed to be extremely high.
