Recently, my 12-year-old lab has developed traction and balance problems, mostly with her hind legs. I had initially looked into sticky pads, but the reviews did not excite me. I looked around and discovered these socks. She dislikes it when you touch her feet, much less putting anything on them, so I wasn't sure if she would tolerate socks, but I figured I would give them a shot. My choice was influenced by the cost as well.I bought her the medium, grey socks after gauging the size of her paws. They have been on her for around two weeks. For the first five minutes after I put them on her, she did have a confused expression on her face. She appeared alright after she realized she could move about in them. When she tries to stand up on our hardwood flooring, they have assisted her (although we have some carpet and rugs all over, she lays on the hardwood floors). Although they haven't entirely taken care of her issues, they have made a significant difference.I'm using two socks at once because she has difficulty with her hind legs. They have been placed on top of the dryer to air dry after being washed in warm water using a mesh bag. I take them off of her when I take her outside in order to keep them clean and maintain the traction on the bottom. Although it can be a hassle, the effort is worthwhile. The other option is to watch as her back legs give way.I have to constantly tugging them up, therefore I'm only giving them four instead of five stars. I'm not sure whether it's because she moves about a lot, because I take them off before I take her outside (so they can stretch), or if it's simply the way they are. I do periodically find one of her socks on the floor since she still trips over her rear feet. Having said that, I'd say this was one of my wiser investments for her.

These were purchased for our aging dog. He had hip dysplasia, which made it difficult for him to move around our floors as he got older. The paw pad powder sticky stuff, grippy socks, grips on his toe nails, throw rugs all over the house, and a sling for us to pull his behind up and down the stairs were some of the other things we tried. Everything failed. The sling did its job, but it wasn't intended for long-term use. After that, I discovered these Anti Slip Dog Socks. And my aging dog regained some vigor in his step! Even though we tried socks years ago and he detested them, he loved wearing them this time around.Since we reside in Seattle, we occasionally experience wet days, and these fared nicely in the mud. After about two months, they did start to show symptoms of wear from being frequently washed (we just used them on his back legs), but it was nothing major and completely expected.One thing to keep in mind is that the velcro will slip down and make it more difficult for your pooch to walk if it is not placed in the proper location on their leg. It will take some trial and error to get the ideal location. Therefore, keep a constant eye on your puppy throughout the first few weeks or until you no longer notice them slipping. I discovered the ideal location to be tightly wrapped at the very end of the sock. If the velcro had elastic, that would be excellent!

My 16.5-year-old Bichon Frise has trouble maintaining her balance on wooden flooring. This is the best dog traction product I've used so far after testing six different ones. My dog keeps falling over without these pads. He falls much less frequently and can run short distances with them.The advantages of these traction devices include their low cost, ease of use, and high level of effectiveness.Cons: Usually just remain for one or two days. They fall off more quickly when exposed to water. After a day, the gripping substance wears off even if they don't fall off.I do not advise making individual pads for each toe out of them. As he gets older, my dog is having trouble walking on our hardwood floors. I purchased a harness and these socks to help with his walking difficulties. I also purchased some medical tape from Amazon because I didn't aware it came with any. I believe it is great that the merchant includes the tape since it keeps the socks from coming undone. To prevent the socks from turning on his feet and to add traction between the bottom of his foot and the inner of the socks, I have purchased kitchen/bathroom silicone and applied it there. The socks are well-made, neutral, and suitable for both genders and any breed. I would absolutely buy these again if I needed to buy another pair.
