Today I received my gorgeous chef's knife from Spirit Wisdom. It was cushioned with air pillows and packaged with care. Beautiful red and black box with an outer sleeve and an inner fold-over magnetic box. There are textual descriptions of the knife and handle inside the lid. The implanted spirit knowledge logo is a glossy silver and black, and it stands out against the dark pakkawood. A black plastic sheath protects the blade. When the knife is not being used, a small red ribbon tied to a black plastic peg holds the sheath in position. You could prefer this one even more if you have small hands and want a chef's knife in the Chinese style.Whoever chose the sticks for this knife is unknown to me. It is difficult to get rid of them, as others have stated. I applied the heat. The top layer (the plastic labels) will come off easily after heating them, but the adhesive will not. Alcohol used for rubbing was unsuccessful. To completely remove the glue, I had to use Goo Gone. This is absurd. therefore taking away one star.

Nice German steel that is comfortable to hold, incredibly sharp right out of the box, simple to sharpen using a good two-stage stone, and handles delicate fish and light vegetables very well. Just a couple minor surprises: the blade is only beveled on the right side, making it best suited for right-handed people, and the grip is not a complete tang, making it unsuitable for heavy-duty cutting. But I suppose that both of these characteristics are appropriate for a light-duty filet/sushi knife. Simply including these details in the description would have allowed customers to make an informed decision about whether or not the knife is suited for them. Fortunately, it's unquestionably the best knife for me.I had to chuckle when I read one really unfavorable review that was extremely scathing of a sushi knife produced in China. Many goods of very high quality are produced in China.
