After reading multiple evaluations of both this and other items, I ultimately decided on this particular model. It has a permanently attached cord, seems to be solidly made, and works as claimed, transferring data to a computer at high speeds via a USB 3.0 connector (SP3). It read all the CF, SD, and TF cards I tried as well as my Lexar SDXC U3 cards without any issues (micro SD). I attempted to copy a 223 MB folder containing jpeg and tif files from a CF card to an SD card, and it did it without a hitch at average speeds of about 1.7 MB/s. The identical 36 files copied to a folder on my SP3 moved too quickly for me to gauge the transfer speed. The only peculiar requirement is that SD cards must be placed face down when the reader's label is facing up, but I suppose it was the only way they could reduce the reader's thickness and price.Its ability to just claim one drive letter once each card has been inserted into one of the slots rather than claiming all four drive letters as soon as you plug it in is something I really appreciate. I was able to enter up to three different cards simultaneously, and each one was correctly recognized and shown along with its own drive letter.

However, some have claimed (and I will confirm) that in order for this to function properly, you NEED TO HAVE THE CORRECT CHANNEL! You're lucky if you do.The Asus Rog Strix X470 F-Gamer is what I bought. (Isn't that the name of a motherboard a mouthful?) After spending $180 on a motherboard, you'd assume it would have two M. 2 slots, each of which supports PCI 3x4. Nope. I discovered that the second channel was operating at half as fast as the first after conducting an enormous amount of research (however I did finally find my answer in the fine print on Asus's website).Yes, that is accurate. One M.2 at the 32GB/s 3x4 speed, but only six SATA 3 6/gb/s ports.I searched for an adaptor like this because I had extra PCI channels. It only took five minutes to remove the cover and install the 1TB Samsung NVME. My BIOS automatically identified everything. It still read it as a D: drive without a hitch because it wasn't my boot drive.The screenshots now demonstrate how similarly the drives stack up. The second drive previously displayed PCI Gen 3x2, but as you can see, it now displays 3x4. (I attempted to "push" it into the biographies, as suggested by someone on some website, but that was clearly ineffective. There's no way in **** that this board's second M.2 slot would handle anything more than 3x2 - which is 16GB/sec., as I discovered the specs on the Asus website.)The first photo is my on-board M.2 slot, which is 3 x 4. The Qnine card is used in the second image. The Samsung magician software is shown conducting its own performance tests in the third image. (Since they are in the same computer, you may compare the performance of a 500GB in the native slot with a 1TB in the PCI card, all other specs being equal.)The last image is a standard CrystalDiskMark display of the 1TB Samsung 970 EVO's performance when this card is installed in the Rog Strix x470 Gaming-second F's PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. Storage was beginning to fall short of my requirements, and spending $300 on a larger capacity plug-and-play upgrade (such as the OWC 480GB Aura Pro X SSD for MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013 - Mid 2015)) was just out of the question. Fortunately, I found this adapter, read the reviews, and made the purchase. A Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD was then connected to it (MZ-V7E500BW). After taxes and any meager rewards points I had, the final price amounted to $135. As a result, I was able to save $165 while significantly increasing read/write speeds and storage.Since the turn of the century, I've performed fresh installs and restores innumerable times on PCs and Macs, but this was by far the quickest and easiest. My only problem was that the internet connection didn't start out properly. When my wireless card was discovered, I was able to access my router. Simply put, there was no Internet access. Before sending it to me, they made sure it would function.So it functions. My file copies onto the card at a rate of roughly 70 megabytes per second, which is really quick. Thus, there are no issues with this card as a result of the adapter. I am content with the adapter at this time and will leave it in place. I'll use the space to save my data, code, and documents as a backup. Any moment a SurfaceBook can fail. You've already lost the game if you don't have a backup of your data that you can keep elsewhere. When that occurs, using this with a large enough card as your portable backup will provide as a safety net.I wouldn't advise you to constantly taking this out and switching the cards in it. Basically, I just bought this SD card adapter because the one I got the day before from Amazon was broken. I bought two MicroSD cards and the two adapters I required for my DSLR camera's two MicroSD card slots. I discovered that one would always claim that a MicroSD card was right protected even if it was not after receiving the two of them. I quickly spoke with an Amazon person who gave me a link to buy the card, which I did, and told me that I would receive a $5 Amazon Plus credit and a $10 promotional bonus on my subsequent purchase because I couldn't utilize the item for my trip. After a 25-minute conversation, that was. I spoke with another employee for another 25 minutes because I had never received the $5 refund for the $10 promotional credit and neither of us seemed to fully grasp the issue. She claimed she was unable to give me a refund. However, could you please grant me a $5 promotional credit for my upcoming Amazon purchase? I spent about an hour speaking with two reps but never got a refund or credit, so I essentially wasted $4 on an adapter card that shouldn't have been defective in the first place. I also never got it. However, this adapter works fantastically, and at least I can now use a MicroSD card in my camera's second slot, which I really needed for my trip and bought two weeks in advance.

This drive was bought expressly for a 13" MacBook Pro Retina's background Time Machine backups.The waking from sleep recognition problem, which has been brought up in a number of Amazon reviews, forced the drive to be returned.Likes: *Good adequate form fit. It does protrude a little bit, but only enough for fingernail access and not too much. *Reasonably fast, although I never benchmarked the throughput (enough for T/M), snugly fitting in the slot without being too tight that it makes it impossible to remove. If you're interested, seek for those reviews where others have mentioned it. extremely affordable for a 128GB microSD card that is quite quick. When you consider that the SDXC slot caddy is built-in, this drive is a no-brainer.Dislikes: *Transcend Jet Tools - it's shoddy, problematic to use/configure, leaves bizarre footprints in your file structure after uninstalling, and it doesn't address the main problem with the drive, which is: *Drive does not reliably mount after waking from sleep. Although it may be manually installed, that kind of negates the idea of "add it and forget about it." Please be aware that I formatted the JetDrive with a Mac partition that is journaled and encrypted, but this shouldn't affect the detection after waking up. Other SD cards that function in the same slot and do not have this problem are available to me.I really wanted this drive to function as intended (for T/M backups), and even if I had only needed more storage, I probably would have kept it because I loved it so much. It's time to test one of the alternate MiniDrive fixes...

Just received this Memory Stick Duo Pro Adapter to use with a 16GB Micro SD (USD) memory card that I previously ordered. (It seems many people are unaware that this offered item is -ONLY- the ADAPTER and NOT the MEMORY itself, which is necessary and must be purchased separately.) The item was packaged nicely in an anti-static bubble pack bag with a strong adhesive and arrived FAST. The actual adaptor was kept in a plastic box. A 5-STAR review is advised by the bag, and mine IS.I placed a little piece of clear tape to the raised thumbnail grip end of the adapter before inserting my 16GB USD card to provide a small tab to facilitate withdrawal from the adapter. Before insertion, I advise using a flashlight to examine the memory stick port on your smartphone to make sure the contacts on this adaptor will fit with the memory stick port's gold fingers. (It can only fit one way into the memory stick slot.) The instructions for installing a memory stick were unclear in the manual that came with my used Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150 digital camera.My device immediately started on once I inserted this new MEMORY STICK ADAPTER USD MEMORY CARD, necessitating no specific card reformatting. I took several photos and then removed the little tape tab from the USD to put it in my computer's memory card reader. It appears that in addition to a folder for picture storage, the memory stick adaptor also created a small MSSONY folder on the memory card itself. I used tweezers to carefully reinstall the USD card into the adapter after transferring the photos to the computer.Since I don't have a camera image transfer cable, I opted to remove the memory card while keeping the flimsy adaptor in the camera, which I hope will eventually work well. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest or buy this item again because my used camera cost less than this adapter. I'm grateful.
