I only had to connect the water inlet valve from my reverse osmosis water filter system into the ice maker's inlet (a tube was already provided); they also included an adaptor to split a cold water valve from an under-sink faucet to use in case you don't have a water filtration system in place. This was installed in my outside bar area, and so far it has performed as well as it was rated to. makes a lot of ice and has the capacity to support a large pool party. Cleaning was not difficult at all, and installation was straightforward. The solution is to add a "little big" condensation pump if, like me, you don't have access to a drain. Simple vinyl tubing was used to connect this for $45 and the drain in my bathroom. Since it's merely melting off, you could even drain it to an outside source. I would repurchase this item.

This is a fantastic little device with a very small footprint that produces more ice than I would ever need for my home. I looked around my local appliance stores and discovered ice makers with a very similar form factor, but the ice mechanism was the half-dozen crescent-shaped ones that refrigerator/freezers often have, which wasn't what I needed.Personally, I don't believe this would look great in a home kitchen. My setup is in the laundry room, where it shares the washer's cold tap and drain. That suits my needs very perfectly. It's wonderful for gatherings where I want to set out a cooler and perhaps top off the ice dispenser in my refrigerator when it gets low on ice.It quickly creates ice, producing 45 cubes at a time in short cycles. I could probably fill five enormous coolers with the amount of ice it holds before I run out. It doesn't take up a lot of space and isn't too huge; I was able to carry it by myself downstairs to the basement. It doesn't need to be filled up like other of the more domestic countertop ice makers out there because it plugs directly to a water line. Every aspect of the machine is easily accessible without requiring disassembly, making it simple to clean. Since the ice is harvested via gravity drops, there aren't many moving parts. That might also imply that it is trustworthy, though I will put a caveat about this in the negatives. This IS a defect of the product itself; it is not actually the seller's or the shipper's fault; rather, it is a purposeful feature of the product's packing design; yet, mine arrived dented. In order to ship by FedEx/UPS, the packaging for the icemaker has been carefully developed as part of the product. If this was packaged with more padding, it could only be sent via freight, which would likely result in a significant price increase. I can see why the container is so small, and it wouldn't be a major difficulty for me (or even a commercial kitchen) to use it. Because the product packaging is not extremely protective, there is a risk that you will have to deal with some drama if you want this for your home kitchen.* Speaking of drama, this machine did not come with any warranty information or even the manufacturer's contact details in case you encounter a problem after the original sale/return window. If it malfunctions, you'll either need to purchase a replacement or attempt to repair it yourself using parts obtained from a Chinese electronics supplier.In conclusion, this is a great deal if you want an industrial ice maker at a significantly cheaper cost than you should have to.

About a month ago, I connected this machine to a water source and a drain. Thought it would be perfect for all the holiday entertaining this month, but regrettably, after only 8 days or so of use in the previous month, the water pump completely stopped working. We are quite happy with the "new" unit because it has been functioning well. The ice made is of high quality and is made quickly. We frequently use to fill water bottles and lunchboxes; the leftover ice stays frozen for a long time. Even though this appliance isn't a freezer, when we switch it off at night, the reservoir will still contain any ice that wasn't utilized the day before.

I had to take off the front panel in order to repair the ice flip tray, which became loose upon shipping. started to make the first batch of ice but got stuck on one particular cube. The ice bin in this machine cannot possibly store 44 pounds of ice as claimed. I estimate that the bin can hold a MAXIMUM of 20–25 pounds of ice. However, I think it's capable of creating 150 pounds of ice in a day if you rotate the ice out when the bin is full. Because my company (a 50-person diner) didn't want to spend more than $1300 on a "genuine" machine, I found this for them. Even on our busiest days, it has been able to keep up with our level of business. If you continue to fill it with ice, the light designed to preserve the ice begins to melt the ice on top, causing water to collect on the lid's edge. For some reason, the screen on the right bottom side keeps trying to move out of its slot. It can be a little challenging to remove the ice from the dispenser without spilling some of it. Excellent cost-benefit ratio. a good product. Outstanding value. simply doesn't hold as much ice as it claims to.
