I bought a Cuisinart DTC-975BKN 12 cup stainless steel thermal brewer around two years ago, but I haven't given it a thorough cleaning since then (Only Rinsed Out Between Daily Runs).It had a thick coating of brown or black that was difficult to remove using a bottle brush of standard bristle length.So I poured hot water into the bottle, added half a packet, and filled the brewing well.After about 15 minutes of waiting, use the bottle brush and drain the water.OMG! First off, don't even consider attempting to clear up extremely tough, long-lasting water stains by hand if they have built up over many years. This product will work miracles! Soon, I'll say more about that. I've tried everything to remove the hard water stains from our glass shower doors, including vinegar, baking soda, toothpaste, Barkeeper's Friend, and more, but nothing has worked. Prior to my wife and I moving in, the hard water had accumulated over a period of time. I almost decided to replace the doors, but I wanted to give it one more shot. I had read in earlier reviews that if you have really bad hard water stains, you might need to use a drill and a scrub pad. I purchased some pads that could be used with any electric drill and were safe for glass. My inexpensive drill performed admirably, but removing the buildup took a lot longer. I purchased a new drill that has a 2000 RPM maximum speed (I didn't use it that quickly), and it removed the stains much more quickly! The hard water stains came off after some time and patience, but maintaining a constant pressure on the glass would still require some work. Our shower doors now appear to be brand-new, and I'll make sure they never deteriorate to this degree again. I've included this picture: The drill pad and BioClean were finished on the right side; the left side wasn't as terrible, but you can still see the buildup in the middle, which gets smaller as you move to the left.

It is expensive, which is OK if you rely on the outcomes, but... using it in confined spaces may make you want to put on a mask.
