This is pretty much ideal in my opinion. We'll talk about the loss of a star later. I'll start with the highlights.It arrived extremely neatly packed and is really durable. They definitely thought through how to safeguard it while being sent because even though it had plainly been damaged during transit, the bookshelf itself was perfectly unscathed. It appears to be comprised of genuine metal and a material that resembles wood. It's not overly heavy, but it is fairly heavy. Just keep in mind that this is not going to be a bookcase that extends from floor to ceiling. For me, the size was ideal for the purpose I had in mind.Now for the less impressive items, which are quite minor. It is VERY difficult to secure the snaps that hold the front of each shelf to the metal supports. Even after putting my over 200-pound weight into it, the top shelf would not lock into place. Fortunately, it was simpler to simply step on the lower shelves until they engaged. However, if you have the most of them clamped on, the only real issue is that the shelves aren't level and are only off by half an inch. There is simply no reason why they should be so difficult to snap into place. Therefore, I can deal with that just fine.Second, and this has nothing to do with the product, but these items take a LONG time to come. I got mine with three-day shipping through Prime. With two mechanical delays caused by UPS along the way, it was dispatched on Wednesday and delivered the following Tuesday. I suppose it's large enough that moving it requires specialized machinery. Simply make plans in advance. If you select 3-day shipping, plan on waiting a week.It goes without saying that it would be a headache to return this item, so do your research and make sure it is the right size before you buy.

If it weren't for the instructions and constructing aspect, I would have awarded this product five stars. You receive a good, durable piece of furniture for the price. Likewise good-quality materials. It's ideal for storing my daughter's toys, which is what I use it for.I finished putting it together in slightly under an hour. That included assembling it and disassembling it to correct it because the directions were terribly unclear! Seriously, whoever creates these guidelines? Once it became evident how to accomplish it, it was simple enough for me to figure out how to do it myself. It was annoying to force the joints into position. When you believe they are safe, you find that you still need to exert greater pressure. It should click two or three times. The "hammer" that was provided wasn't used by me, and I don't know how other people managed to use it. I found it much simpler to simply push everything into position.

This company and its twist tube furniture design are well known to me. The most crucial fact to be aware of is that this furniture is light duty and incredibly simple to assemble and disassemble, making it perfect for temporary use or if you move frequently. Despite being cheap, it is actually more durable than the majority of goods made of particle board that use twist cams or other fasteners. No tools are required; you just need to use your hands to twist the connecting tubes together.Some of Furinno's goods have recently been made available in square tube versions, which give them a little more appealing modern appearance. For this shelf, it is available in some of the color options, but sadly not in the black and gray design I preferred. I did evaluate the two designs, and it appears that the square tube makes the shelves just a little bit less reachable, but not significantly.I didn't have a lot of options because I wanted a nightstand for a bed that only has a little over twelve inches between it and the wall. It stands to reason that a towering tower unit like this one would fall over easily, however due to its light weight, it would be nearly hard to tip over if you placed some books or other small objects on the bottom level.Because at least two of the shelves are reachable, such as for a clock on one and a place to charge your phone on the other, it actually functions better as a bedside unit than a traditional night stand. The top and bottom shelves can then be used for a small trinket, possibly a bedside lamp or a favorite framed photo.As a suggestion, instead of setting it up erect, lay it on the ground. This unit tends to twist somewhat when you add shelves because it is so narrow. All of the shelves will be square with one another if you do it on the floor.Years ago, when I purchased comparable items from this company, they used to include leveler floor protector feet on the bottom. They ceased engaging in that. It's frustrating because their product is now less functional and more likely to scratch my floors because they were able to save a few pennies. I wish they will resume including this brief but crucial component.Don't anticipate magic, but keep your expectations in check and you'll probably agree that this is a decent quality for the money.

This is much more solid than I anticipated it would be based on some other reviews. It was simple to put together, with no changes needed, and all the holes aligned up. It also looks extremely great. Although I don't believe it, I believe someone who claimed that this was light. Large hardback books may probably sag over time if you want to stack them end to end across the shelves, but as long as there are no other heavy objects on the shelves, I think it will work out perfectly. I bought it for my son's dorm room since it is a wonderful height and the first few shelves are behind the end of the bed frame, making them difficult to reach and difficult to use.

I eagerly assembled my shelves after receiving them today. Before I begin, let me state that I have a lovely entertainment center that I was concerned I would have to give away because my new house simply isn't big enough for it and all of the furnishings I had. Particularly CD/DVD tracking and similar tasks. So, as I struggled mightily to find a way to save my entertainment center, inspiration struck: find shelving to occupy the space where the large TV once stood. Because of where the fireplace is located and the fact that the TV has been mounted, I was unable to use the center as I would have liked, so I thought I would attempt shelving there. Wonderful results! I kept my entertainment center there by placing my DVDs and various things there.

Even though I adore blue, I loved how it was depicted because I appreciate the peek-a-boo color concept. The included stickers are actually insufficient to cover the screws. I only have 4-6 stickers left to use. They provide you roughly 12 white stickers and 12 blue stickers, but it is insufficient for both the exterior and the inner shelves. Overall, extremely adorable and excellent! I needed a special shelf that was 30" high and 19" long to fit into the odd space created by my two desks. All other bookcases are either too tall or too short, or both. In addition, it was limited to 15 "for width, otherwise it would protrude too far. Although it is narrower on the width side, I am quite pleased with the purchase. It is a tiny bit taller than 30 "but I can elevate it by placing my computer on it, therefore it was a success. My computer is now holding up beautifully. It's somewhat sagging, but I'm confident that if I rotate it occasionally, it'll be OK. To make the top shelf more sturdy, I drove a few more nails underneath the area where my computer is placed.

I purchased this bookcase to house CDs and band memorabilia. It is seated on carpet. There were no pre-drilled holes in the bottom piece, which is meant to attach to the underside of the bottommost shelf, for securing the brackets. If you can't use the brackets to attach the bookshelves to the wall, this item is designed to prevent it from tipping forward. (For example, you rent rather than own and don't want to put holes in the wall.) Apart than that, everything was complete, everything fit together, and there were no excess parts. Diagrams in the instructions made them simple to understand. This tool is good for carpets as long as it isn't loaded with bulky items that a child or animal (because cats. -___-) could pull forward. I'd recommend it for usage on hard floors. I'm definitely going to get another one.

Despite its few shortcomings, I still give this product 5 stars. Why?! because it's reasonably priced and functions flawlessly as a bookshelf. Each tier can support up to 15 lbs, which is a realistic rating given the construction, according to the instructions. The heaviest volumes should put on the lowest shelf, which is generally speaking the strongest.You can see a particle board with a pre-drilled hole in my review's second image. The entire thing is constructed in this manner. Each board is fastened with four screws in each side through two holes on each side. This design is NOT very strong at all because of how weak particle board is. While a 15 lb rating will suffice for the majority of users, you can boost its holding strength by adding a few tiny L-brackets beneath each rack. I can tell that the particle board is of the highest quality, and after a few L-brackets are installed, it should support up to 50 lb. (Update: I went out and spent a few dollars on a few L brackets. And after they have been installed, the boards are completely stable. Even if you don't really put too much weight on it, in my opinion, these brackets are a necessary for this shelf.)The three rear panels are the other item I want to mention. Despite being tiny, they play a crucial role in the stability of the entire structure. Although it is imperative to have nails in certain key locations, neither the instruction nor the additional nails come with the item. I used 12 additional little black nails in the middle sector that I had on hand. View images.Last but not least, I'll repurchase this shelf. It can be used as a really great organizer for other things if not for books. Shipping for such a big item is surprisingly quick. I placed my order on September 8 and received it on September 12; shipping was free.
