I chose to attempt a five-pack buy because it was significantly less expensive (per disc) than a single disc purchase. Since only one of the five discs was properly recorded, it really ended up being much more expensive. I even made a few unsuccessful attempts to format the CD and start recording anew. I went out and bought one Memorex disc, and it recorded flawlessly. Never again will I I buy this thing.I saved a Verbatim disc that wouldn't play on the older Panasonic BD player and chose to buy a new Sony BD player (excellent investment). The Verbatim discs recorded flawlessly on the brand-new Sony player. I stand corrected, then! Five-star item; for my future review, I'll take greater care!

These discs were among the many I purchased, and they performed admirably the first three or four times. I then began to have miscompares when burning images using imgburn.I calculate that 10 CDs times 3 usage equals 30 burns. At $30 for 10 discs, that works out to $1 per use.For around $60, you can get a 25-disc spindle of Verbatim 6x burn DL discs. That comes to almost $2 per use.These seem like a much better investment than a BD-R, even with only three good burns.

I bought these as a test to see if my new Blu-ray burner could successfully create system restoration disks using these less expensive Blu-ray disks.I utilized Cyberlink's Power2Go 8 program, which can build a complete system restore on a Blu-ray disk with only a few simple mouse clicks.Instead of the numerous DVD-R discs typically required, the software used a single blank 25 GB disk.The procedure was successful in verifying the accuracy of the data, and I even tested it by restoring the entire system to a brand-new SSD drive.Since I only use Blu-rays for that purpose at the moment, this brand perfectly satisfies my requirements.I do suggest them, and using a direct-to-disc printer like the Epson line, you can also print lovely labels onto them.

affordable 50GB rewriteable discs. I've made use of each one. The formatting went smoothly. Within a week, they traveled from Japan to my house in Kentucky (including weekend). The inkjet printable surfact on them is pretty nice. I believe that the printable surface gives protection against scuffs and other damage even if I don't print to them.Burn program confirmed that every task had been accomplished correctly. I store my hard disk backup "images" on these. I use a piece of software that runs on Linux and has its own "live" CD. It will take about 4.5 hours to conduct a 45GB hard disk "imaged" backup because I set the software application to do numerous simultaneous verifications of the burn, but that is completely reasonable and expected. It's nice for me since now, instead of needing around 10 DVDs and having to manually insert 10 brand-new DVDs into a drive, I can just let the application run while it transfers the picture to a single 50GB BD-RE.I've got a Vantec Nexstar NST-530S3-BK External 5.25 Enclosure USB3.0 fitted with an LG Blu-ray burner, model WH14NS40. For BD-RE (Blu-Ray Disc Recordable Eraseable) type discs, the LG burner is restricted to a maximum speed of 2X.I check each CD first using Nero's "complete wipe" feature so that it can identify damaged sectors and classify them as unused. That is also referred to as "defect management," exactly like in hard drive technology. You probably want to know if any of the five DVDs I received had problems. Sadly, as far as I can determine, Nero does not report whether any corrupt sectors were discovered.Using Nero 8 on my outdated PC, the "complete erase" with problematic sector finding takes 80 minutes every disc. (Nero 8 is quite outdated.)I haven't tried using anything other than my Linux-based drive imaging program to burn these Verbatim BD-RE 50GB CDs. This is due to the fact that using a recent version of ImgBurn, I can only attain a maximum speed of 2.2X while burning to standard BD-R non-LTH 25GB Verbatims. As a result, I am aware that my setup will only allow me to burn a normal disc at a rate of roughly 2X. My dated PC, in my opinion, is the constraint. However, despite the fact that my LG burner can only burn these Verbatim BD-RE (Blu-ray Disc Recordable Eraseable) at a maximum of 2X, I am aware that I will eventually reach the 2X wall. There's no need to test out a ton of software to determine if things improve: No matter what, the maximum burn speed on my PC is 2X for Blu-Ray discs. But for my purposes, that's OK.

It's just what I needed, this disc. This enables me to show brief portions of an HD movie without any downsides or wastage of resources, as opposed to purchasing and throwing away numerous costly BD-R discs.The disc is of excellent quality. Although the 2x recording speed occasionally seems slow, it is actually rather appropriate given the amount of data being written. The jewel case that it is packaged in seems dependable and long-lasting. I'm excited to see several movies on this disc because Sony produces excellent stuff.One more thing: although it is not entirely apparent from the description whether this is a rewritable disc or not, it IS rewritable. Embrace the image.
