It's unfortunate that this is so pricey, but I can see why—raw it's food. My dogs go crazy for this meal garnish. Even though there isn't much and I have to treat them to it rather than use it as a "food topper," I still feel good knowing that I'm giving them something healthy in addition to their nugs. I'd rather spend extra money on a nutritious treat and have the assurance that they would receive superior merchandise. They deserve this as a meal topping, but who could afford it? Who can afford to feed their dogs raw meat, I wonder? Half the time, I can't even afford to eat myself that way (LOL). Most of that, in my opinion, is just hype. For generations, dogs lived in the wild on modest amounts, and the animals they killed weren't cows and hens. I believe that if you make wise choices, you may locate high-quality dog food that provides them with the right nutrients. I will still give them this as a standard "reward," though.
