I adore these stools so much! I made a handmade bar table out of a wood slab and iron pipe legs for my small kitchen's small kitchen in my new apartment. The table came out beautifully, and the stools go perfectly with it. They were undamaged when they arrived, and the price is unbeatable! High-quality bar stools that are reasonably priced. These stools met our criteria for good value, which we were seeking for. They are strong, attractive, and the ideal height for a peninsula or island counter. The bar only hangs 8 inches from the peninsula, so we were seeking for stools that wouldn't stick out much from the newly redone kitchen. These stools are wide enough on the seat to comfortably fit an average adult while still having a narrow enough profile to fit against the peninsula.The paint's quality is acceptable. More attention might have been paid to a few minor details, such the 4x4-inch unpainted square on the underside of the seating surface, which indicates that it was painted at the factory or something. Since the stools are somewhat low, I never noticed the unpainted square after I had unpacked and placed them. I suppose you could see it if you were playing on the floor with your kids and looked up.Additionally, the four legs are joined together by fitting horizontal foot rests/steps made of wooden dowels into holes in the legs, which makes sense. The problem is that the nails holding the dowels into the holes aren't fully driven in. I purchased a single pair of stools (two in total), and I had to add around 5–6 nails to make sure the semi–sharp little heads weren't protruding out where they may scratch our children's small fingers or possibly tear any delicate clothes. I simply tapped the little finishing nail heads in place with a drift, a larger nail with a flat tip. Using a dremel cut-off wheel, you may also quickly remove the excess. So don't let that deter you, this hammering project only took me around 10-15 minutes because I was patient and careful not to dent the wood. Additionally, a lot of folks might not notice the nails and not give a damn, or maybe I just got a bad batch where the maker was careless or distracted. The unknown.They are excellent stools all around, especially considering the price. I actually had plans to get a second pair because I believe there is space for them at the bar as well. They have a respectable finish, are comparatively durable, and are reasonably priced. If I had it to do over, I would purchase the identical ones since I didn't care how long it took to mend the nails.

These were purchased to go with an arcade cabinet renovation I recently completed. I required a set of sturdy, tall swivel stools. After reading all the reviews and considering the pricing of these, I decided to go ahead and get them. It just took around 5 minutes to put each chair together. One of the chairs had a bent metal base that connected to the seat's underside; fortunately, I was able to bend the metal back into form using a set of powerful pliers. The way it was packed makes me believe that this didn't happen during delivery but rather before it. Regardless, it had little impact on installation and was barely evident once I had finished the assembly.Chairs are simple to turn. It's simple to lower the seat while seated; all you have to do is pull the lever on the underside. Going down while off of it is difficult. In order to put weight on the seat while I raise the lever, I have to essentially drape myself over it. It makes sense to lower that while seated, but I just thought I'd mention it. I had to get off of it in order for it to go up, adjust to the height, and then get back on. A small individual might be able to make this upward adjustment while sitting, but I'm not sure. Is it important? Most likely not, but just in case, here it is.On to the stability now. Numerous sources I've read claim that it is stable even on carpet. Few people seem to bring up the possibility that it may seem shaky or unsteady when you first sit down, particularly if the chair is raised. It feels secure once you are seated in it, and I have no concerns about it, but getting in it and moving around on it to sit in the middle of the chair is awkward and unstable. The chairs carry the same tagline I used for this article and remind me of those old Weeble Wobble toys that you could tip over but they would immediately pop back up. Since my family and I aren't particularly tall, we had to stand on our tiptoes to sit down, but we wanted the chairs to be high like the arcade machine. It's logical to assume that the chair shouldn't feel unsteady when you sit in it at the height we've placed it at since it can go even higher. Yes, there is carpet under our feet, but it is old and worn out; it lacks the dense padding and pile that the carpet may have had when it was new. I tried it on a wood floor and it was much more stable getting on, but as it had been brought up by several other reviewers, I chose to focus on it and provide my own comments.So let's discuss the four stars. Although it's entirely my opinion, if I could, I'd give it a 3.5. What drew me in was the price point. The quality is average; neither poor nor excellent. It accomplishes the goal I had for buying them. Since the purchase, three people have used the chairs rather frequently, and despite numerous times getting on and off, they continue to feel shaky. That must therefore take a deduction into account. Yes, it is cushiony. I appreciate the way the chair is quilted and stitched, but you might want to choose a chair that is more expensive or of greater quality if you're searching for absolute perfection in looks.The pictures that are given demonstrate how I used them for my needs, with particular attention paid to the carpet they are used on, the height, and the stitching.

These chairs are excellent! They were really simple to put together and have a very sleek appearance. I frequently sit on them, and I find them to be quite pleasant. I frequently receive praises on them. They appear to be bright white, and the cloth gives off the impression of being of exceptional quality. They appear much more expensive to me than they actually are.I had a guest sit on one while wearing a somewhat moist new beach towel, thus the color bled through and discolored the chair light pink. If anyone has any tips for cleaning them, please let me know! A wet, freshly colored towel would stain anything, thus the chair is definitely not to blame. However, if someone knows how to remove the stain, do share! These really are a fantastic product, so if I can't get it off, I'll gladly get another chair!

For my kitchen island, I was seeking for counter-height stools. At the Ashley store, the 24 "Height seemed WAY too short! They being right would have never occurred to me.I looked around at other nearby stores (Valu City, Raymoor), but everything there seemed to be very inexpensive. Although I don't consider myself an Ashley Furniture snob and will actually be picking up my living room set from ValuCity on Tuesday, the greatest items I found were at Ashley. I simply shop around to locate the best products that each location has to offer.Anyway, I came home, measured my height and the height of the room, and it turns out that 24" is far higher than you might expect and is considered "counter height." ".I discovered these on the main Ashley furniture website and then searched for them on Amazon. They were both available for the unbelievable bargain of $40 each. It's a terrific deal for what you get, whether it's made in China or not!).The product is amazing in terms of its "heft," packaging, and assembly. The seat is made of a substance that resembles wood, but even if it isn't, it is dense, extremely rigid, and thick, and it has been coated numerous times with (I'm presuming a commercial polyurethane). It is made to be durable and take a beating.And to top it off, for those in the "know," loctite was already placed to the screws keeping them together!$40/ea ... That cost is just too much for me.And free shipping, of course!Reviews almost never have images, but this one is worthwhile. I am ecstatic by the quality of them and the finished product as a whole.(Update 4/5/2015: I saw that the cost has increased. When I bought it, the price for the pair was $80.)

Pro'sThese bar stools are quite attractive. We bought the antique gun metal, which seems to be raw metal with obvious welds and grinder marks. They have a very industrial appearance. About ten months ago, we purchased our first set to go around the bar in our outdoor kitchen. About three months later, we acquired a second pair, and we just recently purchased a third pair. The six of them remain seated on the patio all the while. The old stools still look just as good as the brand-new ones we recently got.Con'sFor an adult of average size, the seats on these chairs are WAY too small. They should be fine if you are a youngster or have a particularly tiny butt. The original seat is REALLY uncomfortable for me because of its small size. I'm roughly 6' and 185 pounds.Why, therefore, did I give it four stars? I had realistic expectations because I anticipated the seat (which measures 12x12) would be inadequate. I received exactly what I had hoped for—probably even better.Now, if you're handy (and I like to think I am), you can follow my lead and do what I did.I went to the hardware shop and purchased a piece of "cabinet-grade" wood that was 16" wide and 3/4" thick. To create a new seat, I used a jigsaw, sandpaper, and wood stain. 16" deep and 16" wide describe my new seat (tapering back to 12" so it still fits inside the chair). Shamefully, the seats did not arrive in this configuration at first. Both my 250 lb buddies and those with skinny butts find the new seats I designed to be incredibly comfy.Bottom line: If you're a youngster or have a narrow butt, you'll enjoy these (no pun intended). BUY, BUY, BUYPlan to replace the seats if you have a "typical" adult-size butt because the comfort level will fast decline.

The first time, I only got one set (2 stools), but after we assembled them, I was so pleased that I decided to order another set. after which another.Not too challenging to assemble (I am a 73 year old grandma and my granddaughter is 15). I found it a little challenging to fully tighten the screws, but we succeeded.Some of the tiny wooden plugs that fit over the screw holes would fall out when we turned the stools upright, so we had to put glue to them. But I believe the small amount of adhesive fixed the issue.But this third set's third seat is beginning to split. Although it is hardly perceptible, you can feel it (unevenly) on the top and bottom and it extends halfway through the seat (about 8 inches). Since the seat is face down while you install it, I didn't see the crack when we were unpacking or putting them together. I wasn't able to see or feel it until I turned them upright. (I could barely keep my fingertip out of it.) I made an attempt to inject some glue into the fracture to prevent further breaking. I didn't want to push it open though. Therefore, I'm unsure if the glue actually entered or would be useful.Additionally, this last package included an additional set of screws, plugs, and dowels. but no guidelines. But I didn't need the directions again because I had just put 4 together. But I guess someone got a shipment with two sets of instructions and no assembly parts. The second set of plugs is white rather than dark walnut, contrary to my expectation that I would have a few additional assembly pieces to have on hand.Overall, I'm really happy with them and now have 6 lovely stools for less than the price of two ostentatious ones. And unlike my swivel stools with backs, which were constantly in the way and were breaking down, they fit under the counter and are out of the way.

I've had stools just like these for years that I purchased from Walmart and later Amazon. As a keyboard player, I use these during performances. Only one of the half a dozen I've had over the years failed—under a friend who was playing my keyboards but was too busy having fun to notice. This specific one, which I notice I purchased in 2015, is just as nice as the others. Although some reviews claim that the quality has declined, those reviews were written before I made my purchase, indicating that any manufacturing problems have been resolved.I am between 175 and 180 pounds. Unless they're very careful, I wouldn't advise someone above, let's say, 250 lbs, to use it frequently.Although it doesn't have a big cushion or a plush seat, it serves my function perfectly and folds down to a small enough size to fit in my music bag.All have survived up until they were lost or destroyed, with the exception of the one that failed. It can't be beat for the price and convenience.After my house caught fire in 2019, I acquired another. As far as I can tell, it's the same as the others, therefore the quality is still good. Additionally, due to the angle of the seat edge, it is far more comfortable than my previous replacement (which I obtained from who knows where). My first replacement is much more difficult to sit on or lean on because of its steeper sides. View images.
